Don't let the location turn you away! After growing up eating middle eastern food out of Dearborn MI I've been looking for some chicken shawarma down here with the same quality. Whoever is cooking knows what they are doing! Everything is very flavorful and tastes just how I remember it. This has been a weekly spot for me since I found it! Service is always great and very friendly! I recommend anytime someone asks where they should go for dinner!

Gigantic servings and awesome food! Ultra friendly. Stopped here on my way to MI for business. Sheer luck on this find.

Delicious!!! This little gem is tucked away in a strip mall just off campus from Bowling Green university. Ordered the shawarma entree for $15. There was more than enough food for me & my companion who wasn't hungry but ended up eating half my meal once she tasted it. Shawarma chicken, salad with house dressing (very vinegary), perfect rice, creamy sour cream, garlicky hummus and generous portion of thin pita bread. The baklava dessert tray was beautiful but we just didn't have room. Quick & friendly service. The smoothies looked thick & yummy too. Give this little place a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Yelp says that three stars = Okay. This is a weak three star review. Sadeen was rocking the counter and register and doing a fine job! This is a carry-out operation that happens to have three 4-top tables. Dine-in orders are served in styrofoam to-go containers with plasticware. Nothing wrong with this if you appropriately set your expectations. Great salad, humus, rice and garlic sauce. I would have appreciated a few more peas and corn kernels in the rice. The pitas arrived wrapped in plastic wrap and at room temperature. I was hoping for a warm-ish, fresh from the oven experience. The kafta entree was dry. Dunno if it was overcooked or reheated ... and for the price point, the portion size was a bit stingy. If it matters, the restroom is Unisex. It was adequately clean, but could've benefited from someone spending two minutes with a broom. Will I return? Yes. The shawarmas looked great and should make for a good eat-while-drinking experience.

I had such a great experience at Yala Kol! I came in with a group of friends and the staff were all very friendly and helpful in answering our questions. They cooked our food fresh right there and we got it in a timely manner. It was not too heavy, yet filling! I even had leftovers. A good price too for the amount of food received. The fries were very good and I loved the hummus and dipping sauce. Even the cupcake was delicious! I really enjoyed everything about my experience and meal so a 5 star rating is deserved!!

    Menu choices.

So many choices and there is a great deal of flexibility in ordering. Convenient, fresh, and delicious. And so healthy. Making it a regular stop.

Better than Pita Pit, Kabob It & South Side 6. Healthier than most restaurants in BG. Would recommend chicken shawarma with rice & salad. It's $12 & easily two meals.

This was my first time here and it will not be the last!…read more The cauliflower was amazing, the hummus was delicious, and the falafel (first time I've ever tried it) was incredible! I could've had my whole meal be just the appetizers and I would've been happy. The dinner came out and the rice was seasoned and tasted awesome! The chicken and lamb chops were *chef's kiss*. My favorite (aside from the falafel) was the Kafta. It's the first time I had it and my taste buds were blown away. Of course we had to end the meal with dessert (not much room left but we made it work) and the tuxedo mousse cake was made with so much love you could taste it in every bite. Not only was the food AMAZING, the staff were extremely friendly, they took the time to learn our names, very attentive, and made the whole experience that much better. The location is great and the entire vibe of the restaurant was relaxing. I will definitely be coming back very soon!

Ameera Mediterranean Bistro was the destination -- and from the moment we walked in, we knew we had found something special. Nick, the owner, greeted us with the kind of warmth usually reserved for family. His effervescent personality and passion for his craft set the tone for the evening. Even this extremely picky eater found herself excited as he described each dish and the care that goes into preparing it. We started with the Baba Gannouj. OMG. I could have eaten it with a spoon -- smoky, silky, absolutely unforgettable. For entrées, I ordered the Port Saiid with chicken, and my husband chose the Mediterranean lamb chops. My Port Saiid was perfection: tender mushrooms, beautifully textured rice (not mushy, not hard -- just right), juicy chicken, and a luscious lemon‑garlic sauce that I would happily put on everything. I could eat this dish every day. Watching my husband with his lamb chops was like watching a kid devour his favorite meal -- pure joy. The bones were clean, the plate was clean, and he would have ordered a second round if given the chance. Dessert was non‑negotiable. We tried the baklava and the Ameera cake special. I hate cake... and yet this one -- layers of dark, white, and milk chocolate -- was a little slice of heaven. The only cake I would ever order again. The baklava was so good my husband saved some to take home so he could stretch the happiness into the next day. If you haven't explored Sylvania's culinary scene lately, start here. Ameera Mediterranean Bistro is a treasure.

We finally made it here and we are kicking ourselves that it took us so long!…read more Our service was 10/10 which really started the experience off on the right foot. They bring out fresh pita that's fired up right in the oven and it is out of this world. We paired that with the hummus and it was delish. For food, we shared a few items: Moussaka which is one of our fav dishes and this one did not disappoint. A delicious lasagna-like dish made with eggplant that's served in a tomato sauce. We also tried the cabbage rolls and chicken wraps. The chicken wraps could be a daily treat. They are so light and fresh and great with the yogurt sauce they are served with. We didn't have dessert but we will definitely be back for more! The grape leaves are a top item I need to try. They do have a private room for larger parties as well.

Slightly elegant, in that "special night out next to a Pottery Barn" kind of way. We've long been fans of the food. We've made the rounds. The only location left was Levis Commons--and now that we've finally made it there, we can say: it holds up. Warm service, tasty as ever, and an atmosphere that feels like someone lit a candle in a cul-de-sac. It's a welcome twist on a cuisine we love--refined, but approachable. Perrysburg, you're doing fine. Highly recommended. IYKYK--and if you don't, well... you'll probably end up here eventually. Maybe after a little shopping.

I had seafood Cioppino and my friend ordered Wild Boar Bolognese. We also shared Classic Hummust o share as appetizer. WOW, everything tasted great and delicious. I passed by the kitchen to go use the restroom and had to stop to enjoy all the dishes that were prepared and ready to serve. Went back to Souk last Saturday with 3 other dining partners and really had a great experience…read more We had a reservation and unfortunately, they seated us in the front room. It's nice in there, but it was just too loud for us. We asked our waitress if we could move to the back room. she checked with the hostess, and it was no problem. She graciously helped us move, thanked us and handed us off to our new waitress. She was really nice about everything. Our new waitress took our drink orders, and I decided to have a Manhattan. It was just the well whiskey (I'm guessing they used domestic whiskey, so the "e" needs to be there!) and it was really well made. They even used a giant ice cube that kept the drink well chilled without the dilution issues typical ice can bring. On to appetizers... We had the calamari and an order of hummus with onions and browned butter. The calamari was really nice, but kind of stingy. It was very well cooked, nicely breaded, etc. My one quibble is there just wasn't enough, especially for the price. The hummus... So, the hummus was a rather generous portion that was out of this world delicious. It was served in a large bowl with browned onions, brown butter, paprika and fried or baked chickpeas. The hummus reminded me of Middle East Market. Smooth, creamy, garlicky, well-seasoned. If you go to Souk and don't get this, you're making a huge mistake. After the apps, we moved on to our entrees... I had the crab cakes. They were really enjoyable, served with some nicely dressed, mixed salad greens. they were full of crab meat (but unfortunately not lump crab). The outside was crispy and the inside was very nicely cooked. Great flavor. One of the folks at the table had the butternut squash ravioli. It was probably my favorite dish of all that night. Amazing flavor and perfect texture. the thing that makes their ravioli the "leader of the ravioli wars" is they served them with a sherry, cream sauce that was just amazing. Kind of a sweet and savory, salty thing. Delicious. Our other guest had the Kafta Ravioli and said it was really good. I didn't try it, so I really can't comment, but it did look pretty great. After our entrees, we moved on to coffee and split a desert. Souk's Turkish coffee was great. It's been years since I've had Turkish coffee, but it was really strong and piping hot. Just perfect. We also split an order of their bread pudding. WOW! I've not had bread pudding that good since I was in New Orleans. So, my first trip to Souk really sucked (see my review). My guess is they were having a bad night, and we got stuck with a really sh*tty waiter. The place is expensive, but the food and drink substantiate the prices. Our waitress was very professional, she knew the menu and offered informed suggestions when asked. She seemed to know when we needed her. We were not rushed and really felt like they appreciated out business. Can't wait to go back.
