She told us to sit. Got us drinks. And scratch made our delicious food. We asked for random adjustments and she made her recommendations on what would work well. When a friend thought she needed another takeout box she helped box it all up. She was generous and kind and quite hilarious. Best Mongolian beef I've ever had and that includes in Ulan Baatar! She is so funny, but the average American might take her the wrong way. This is NOT fast, or chain food. What a gem, the lady who owns it is the waitress, cook and cashier. She makes recommendations for you and is spot on. My wife likes General Toe So chicken spicy and the owner tried to tell her to make it a little less spicy. She didn't listen, but after she ate it she decided next time she will get it less spicy. We tried this place today for the first time. The wonderful, sweet lady who owns the place welcomed us and cooked our food fresh. The food was outstanding! My daughter asked for sweet and sour chicken. The owner informed us that she does not bread and deep fry the chicken. She does everything fresh and clean, so unbreaded sautéed Chicken it was and we were thrilled with it. The sauces she used were rich and flavorful, not your typical commercial red sauce on some chicken nuggets. When it was time to check out, she would not let us tip her. She merely smiled and said, "Just come back." This is a true definition of small business and a hidden Gem that we will continue to come back for. Highly recommended. My favorite restaurant for Chinese food. Today I had the egg rolls and the shrimp fried rice. Egg rolls were crispy, not greasy and made with the right combination filling of pork and veggies. Huge serving of shrimp fried rice. And unlike most places, theirs comes with lots of sauteed vegetables - large pieces of fresh mushrooms, carrots, broccoli and onions. The shrimp are tasty, very large, and not breaded (a plus in my mind). The sauce is slightly sweet and only enhances the dish (does not drown it). The underlying rice is perfectly cooked and tasty. Walked in and saw two people cooking, but as I and another customer walked in we waited a good 10-15 minutes and realized while they looked at us, they didn't verablly acknowledge us nor say "Just a moment". Just complete stone-wall ignoring pretending the customers weren't there at all. I checked for any signs that said "Take out only" But there were definitely sit-down menus available. While I was standing and waiting with my husband, I checked yelp to see the mixed reviews. Saw another reviewer saying they too weren't acknowledged. We ordered 3 entrees: 1) sweet and sour chicken (kids shared this) 2) shrimp with vegetables (daughter and I shared this) 3) vegetable low mein We also ordered vegetable spring rolls and crab Rangoon and an extra side of rice and had very little leftover (it's that good). This is freshly made food and sauces. This is the first time sweet and sour chicken was not tempura-battered chicken deep/fried with Hawaiian Punch sauce and a few token vegetables. This sweet and sour chicken is lightly fried and served with pea pods, green pepper, broccoli,carrot slices,mushrooms, onions, and pineapple. The sauce is light and moderately sweet - perfectly coating the ingredients. The shrimp with vegetables had jumbo shrimp perfectly cooked and paired with mushrooms, onion, broccoli, and a perfect ginger and garlic sauce. The vegetable low mein was the same high quality as the other two entrees, fresh vegetables and a really great sauce and perfectly seasoned. The appetizers were quite good. We came here 10-12 years ago while traveling through on vacation with our kids. Had a great meal and remembered the great eating experience with the owners. Wasn't really impressed overall. Vegetable fried rice was delicious and full of veggies but had way too many mushrooms. General Tso Chicken was really liquidy and not very flavorful. Yum Yummy is a family-run gem serving all-organic Chinese food amidst a sprawling maze of chain restaurants and highways. On our way from Chicago to the East Coast, we found ourselves in the unenviable position of needing to order food after 8:30 pm on a Monday, which we learned is not a thing around here. After unsuccessfully trying to find something through the local delivery option, Google found us Yum Yummy. When I called to place the order and asked about delivery, the owner, my new adopted Grandma, said plainly, "I can't drive, I'm too old! But if you want me to cook for you, I will." Something about the way she said it warmed my heart, and we worked as a team to get an order in as fast as possible. I told her we like spicy so we went with General Tso Chicken. She made sure I understood that it is not deep fried, but it is deeply flavorful. I tried to order Mongolian Beef next, but she stopped me. "You like spicy? Not Mongolian Beef, Hunan Beef!" I do know the difference, and I enjoy Mongolian Beef anyway, but I guess I love being bossed around by grandmother types more than I love Mongolian Beef. We went with her suggestion and were happy we did. We also ordered brown fried rice which really hit the spot as well. I picked it up 10 minutes later. When I arrived, she welcomed me warmly and explained that the food would have been even spicier, but she was low on hot peppers which she harvests from her own garden. Yes, folks, she grows the peppers and several other vegetables that she uses in her own garden. She explained how important it is for her to serve organic and healthy food, with low sugar and no MSG, and I was smitten. She also gave us complementary soup, a version of egg-drop soup with tomato and a good amount of kick. I headed back to the Hampton Inn flying high on having connected with such a lovely person, and our run of the mill hotel room was transformed into a happy place by the aromas and flavors of our delicious meal. I gave them a second chance a few months later. A rather rude lady took my order, my money and told me to wait. I sat down, waited about 15 minutes and the food came out. I asked the lady for chopsticks and got the third degree. She did not want to give me chopsticks, accusing me of having them at home. So you can say alot about this place, Ambiance is not the best (strip mall), Service can be hit or miss (she is a one woman shop since losing her Husband), but this is the best Chinese food in Northwest Ohio, bar none. They do it all themselves. sometimes they seem rushed but don't take it personal! it's understandable when they are taking orders, filling them and cashing people out while also servicing the few people tables they have inside. My husband and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this spot. The owners are such a fun and sweet couple and you're immediately treated like family when you walk through the door. The owners get 5 stars - they are the best! They won't let you over order or get something out of range from your 'spice ability.' They'll provide great food suggestions and great conversation (if you want it)! The food also gets 5 stars. We all loved what we ordered: Ma Po Tofu, General Tso's Chicken, and Mongolian Beef. The food is made fresh and there's very little oil - unlike many other Chinese restaurants. We travel to the Perrysburg/Toledo area once a year for Thanksgiving. We visited Yum Yummy last year for the first time and we went back again this year. We started a new tradition by visiting this amazing spot and intend to continue it! read more

A cool little mom and pop Chinese place in a strip mall. We had planned to go to the Subway next door, and I thought this was a yogurt place as I drove past but Sweetie pointed out the sign that said "fresh healthy authentic Chinese food." And that is not false advertising- it checked all those boxes. On our first visit I got the beef fried rice. I just wanted something small and simple. It was huge, and simple in a way but a perfect blend of many flavors and textures. The meat was good, the rice was nice, and there were lots of steamed veggies piled on top. The healthiest, and among the best, fried rice I've ever had. I ordered it medium spicy and it was at the top end of my comfort zone- I like heat, and was able to eat it but my mouth was pretty tingly. The next time I got my standard Mongolian beef, but it wasn't standard- only a few of the usual onions, and lots more of the veggies: carrot, broccoli, mushrooms, etc. A good sauce, white rice on the side, and another great meal. Sweetie got the veggie lo mein and loved it. If this were nearby it would be our go-to Chinese place. The owners are great- the guy is a little gruff, but helpful, and the lady is very much a mother- she made sure we had what we needed, and was friendly and helpful. Terrible. Everything about it. 1) Carry our is 50 min wait on Thursday evening? Something isn't right to begin with 2) Wouldn't take Credit Card but would swipe my debit card as credit? I told her I wanted egg foo young not that. She told me it takes too long to make egg foo young. I told her it was on the menu and she once again offered vegetables and an egg. The owner lack customer service skills, and will argue and yell at you because she's too cheap to accept credit cards (don't want to pay fee), yet they advertise that they take visa/Mastercard! You have been warned! The latest critical violations at Yum Yummy include: Written procedures and plans are not maintained and implemented. Owners have not followed the signed agreement in regard to cooling and temperature logs, cleaning schedule and removal of excessive personal items and unused equipment. Food not properly protected from contamination by separation, packaging, and segregation. Observed dirty plate with stuck-on food debris being used as cover for cooling rice and moisture packets inside prep top cooler near open food. Equipment food-contact surfaces or utensils are unclean. Observed heavy black build up on dish machine racks used to hold food contact utensils for mechanical washing and in buckets used for manual warewashing. Food equipment surfaces not cleaned at required frequency. Sanitizer not observed set up at time of inspection. All in use utensils shall be washed, rinsed and sanitized every 4 hours to prevent pathogen growth. Chlorine sanitizing solution at incorrect temperature and/or concentration. Ready-to-eat, time/temperature controlled for safety food not properly discarded when required. Observed stock pot of food and dairy container in walk in cooler not properly discarded after expiration. Black build up observed on products. This place has the best Hunan chicken I've ever had in my life! This spicy dish has the perfect amount of heat. The fresh ingredients really take it up a notch. The vegetables are perfectly cooked and the chicken is always tender and just melts in your mouth. I've also had the shrimp version and it's just as delicious. I've been coming here for over a decade and even though I moved to Chicago, I still come here when I'm in town and get a few to-go orders so I can have some freezer meals back home.
