This was a takeout order for my family, for five people. We ordered sizzling rice soup, won ton soup, crab ragoon, chicken egg foo young, sweet and sour chicken and shrimp lo mein - perhaps more. The restaurant itself was very clean but the ambience isn't important because I never see anyone dining in. Anyway, the restaurant carefully packed our order into a box. Needless to say, it was a handful. I managed to get out the door but I couldn't open my car door without setting down the box of food. I set it on the hood of my car to open the car door and... yikes, the box slid off the hood of my car onto the parking lot concrete! It was a mess! Apparently, a customer alerted the restaurant staff about the mishap and an owner or manager promptly came out to clean it up and re-made the order. I didn't tell them it was my birthday and I was picking up dinner for a family celebration. I felt horrible for the restaurant and also for the delay in returning home. The restaurant very professionally re-made the order and carried it out to my car. Everyone loved their food. I've long been a fan of the shrimp lo mein and my mom raved about the chicken egg foo young. Usually egg foo young at other restaurants comes smothered in gravy and very greasy, but this egg foo young wasn't greasy at all and the sauce was provided on the side without even asking for a side. Everyone was happy with the food and this isn't an easy group to please. This restaurant has earned five stars for their consistently delicious food and in handling this situation with professionalism. Absolutely check out China House!! read more

The people that own the business are always friendly and do their best to give you good food and service. I loved Tsou's Place in Temperance but the owners retired recently and I found myself hunting for good Chinese food. The food is okay at China House but not nearly as good as Tsou's Place. The Chinese lady that takes your order at China House is very abrupt and rude on the phone. When I picked up my order she was even more rude. I think that I will continue to look for good Chinese food in Temperance and possibly find a place where they actually appreciate my business. read more

We get dinner from China House about once a week. It is always fresh and delicious and ready in 10 minutes or so. The lady that takes the orders is very nice. They serve very generous portions. The menu is huge and has a great variety to choose from, but we get the same 4 or 5 dishes. The black pepper chicken and sweet & sour combo are my favorite and my husband gets house special mei fun or roast pork lomein. We usually have leftovers for lunch the next day. We also like the boneless bbq pork rib appetizer, General Tsou's chicken, and almond boneless chicken. Please consider offering General Tsou's tofu and salt and pepper shrimp entree! UPDATE: Haven't been here in a while and decided to try again. Had chicken chop suey. To me, the chicken did not seem to be great quality. I prefer chicken to be nicely sliced, but there were lots of squiggly pieces of chicken. If that doesn't bother you, give them a try. The vegetables were decent and order was quickly prepared. Ok, so we love it here despite the kind of short-fused Chinese lady. Go to Chinatown in NY, you get the same thing where they like information fast and right now, you better know what you want, lol. Hadn't been in awhile. We used to live right across the street. But moved right before Covid to Erie and haven't been able to frequent them. My husband used to go in and get a very specific Tofu Mei Fun for me. Recently I was craving lo mein and he ordered it over the phone with the same vegetable requests. Not even a minute later the main employee (owner) called back to make sure we had truly wanted lo mein instead of the mei fun I normally get. She remembered from over a year ago. Myself and our families have ordered here for years, they have never gotten an order wrong. The crab Rangoon is to die for, but all of their menu selections have been better than most other places. The food is always good but the customer service is ALWAYS terrible. There is one lady who works there who is rude on the phone and when you go in person to pick up your food. One time she threw my change on the counter instead of handing it to me. I called to place an order and was told I could not make a substitution on my order when they have always done it for an up charge. I told her that and she refused, very rude. My husband and I like to support local restaurants, but we will not be going back to China House in Bedford. For the second time in a row, we received an incorrect order. When we called to let them know, not to request a refund or the food that we actually ordered but simply to make them aware that our last 2 orders were wrong, the woman was extremely rude, insisted that we had ordered what we received, and actually cut us off and hung up on us. On my quest for the best Orange Chicken in Bedford Township, this place so for has the best I've tried out of 3 restaurants. The chicken was not chewy, but moist and tender, the coating was crispy as it should be, not soggy. The sauce was the right blend of sweet and sour, with notes of Orange essence. My only disappointment was there were no dried chilies in it and therefore was not spicy at all. read more

Great local take out. Shrimp rolls were crispy and hot. Ordered Kung Pao Chicken and House Special Lo Mien (shrimp, chicken, pork & beef). Both dishes were very fresh. Veggies in KPC were perfect.
