I was in Toledo for my cousin's UT graduation. I asked her to recommend a local favorite that wasn't one of a million chain restaurants in the area. When she described QQ, and after I read the reviews here on Yelp!, I was very excited to check it out. I arrived with my mom here on a Saturday around noon. They were pretty busy as the place is small and fills up quickly. The server, although nice, made us feel a bit rushed to order. We got the egg drop soup, hot and sour soup, black bean noodle Ja-Jung (aka jjajangmyun or jjajangmyeon) and the Lettuce Wraps. The soups are a great deal. For $1.99 it's a rather generous portion. I loved my mom's egg drop soup. Lots of egg and perfect flavor. My hot and sour soup was neither hot nor sour. It seemed like the egg drop soup with a little bit of flavoring added. I wish it was more spicy and more soup. If I wanted egg drop soup with flavor I would have ordered egg drop and added some Sriracha. The Ja Jung (black bean noodles) I ordered per my cousins recommendation and other Yelpers' reviews. I wanted to try an authentic dish that I can't find at every other Asian restaurant. I must say I was disappointed. It was rather flavorless. Maybe that's how it's supposed to taste, but I was not impressed. The people next to us got the Spicy Seafood noodle soup and it looked delicious. I wish I ordered that instead. My mom's lettuce wraps were good. Nothing special. Perhaps a bit on the sweet side. They reminded me of the ones at PF Chang's but less flavorful. If I was ever in the area again I would go back for the egg drop soup. I would like to try the spicy seafood noodle soup and the Kimchee Bacon fried rice as it was mentioned in many reviews and the pictures look so enticing. It is definitely better than your average Asian restaurant in that it offers more than your typical dishes. The ingredients are fresh. It's a cute little place that has clean bathrooms. However, based on my own experience I don't really see what all the hype is about. read more

Very tasty. We ordered 1 tofu Lo Mein, 1 veggie Lo Mein, 2 Kung Pao shrimp, 1 order of Crab Ragoon and 2 orders of Spring Rolls, all of which were tasty. I had tofu Lo Mein. I've discovered my new favorite for QQ Kitchen. We've been ordering from QQ Kitchen for a few years, and like always, the food tastes good, and the food is clean. I ordered an egg roll and beef pad Thai. The egg roll was fantastic. I believe they seem to be made fully in house, at very least they are different from every other egg roll I've had. The outside is crisp and thinner than normal. The flavor is delicious and layered. It comes with sauce in a container that doesn't seem to be the standard packet sweet and sour sauce. The egg roll was simple, but a real treat. The beef pad Thai left a little to be desired. The beef was a little dry and the pad Thai itself used some red sauce which is different from other pad Thais I've had in the past. The flavor was a little dull to be honest. This may be my fault but it was spicy at all. I didn't specify a spice level but I wasn't asked either. Compared to other pad Thai dishes I've had at rose thai and Toledo Thai (Toledo Thai is the best) I'd rank this third. It was terrible by any means but I just feel like it could be better. This was my first time here and I definitely plan to return. Overall I would recommend this place to family and friends. read more

1st YELP review! Visited WW Kitchen 6/21/18 based on YELP review. While there was a wait for tables I was quickly seated at the bar. Upon review of the menu I was surprised to see that Jim-Pong (Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup) was in the menu. I have not been able to find it since my go-to spot for 28+ years in Atlanta, Georgia closed last year. I quickly ordered it and was amazed how good it was. It was better than old Atlanta spot. While I did not taste any pork, the flavors were amazing. Unfortunately I don't live in Toledo, but will try to find a reason Mon-Fri next time since they are closed Saturday and Sunday. I also had the summer rolls which were good and everything else I saw looked good. My server Katie was very nice and kind enough to listen to my story about my old Atlanta spot for the Jom-Pong. Will definitely be back on next visit to Toledo. read more

Oh my goodness! Came here after looking this place up on Yelp and ended up being so pleasantly surprised because I was expecting regular Chinese takeout and this delivered way more than that. 5 stars! I got the drunken noodle with beef and kimchi bacon fried rice, and they were both very flavorful and delicious! Portion size and service were great! Definitely enjoyed the uniqueness that both dishes had. Will definitely be coming back if I get the chance! read more

This place is so darn good, sometimes the spice level is not very consistent, but that doesn't bother me any as long as the taste is! Why is there egg drop soup so good? No I mean really, I crave it! And I challenge you to find a better orange chicken! The only complaint I have is I wish they kept more convenient hours. read more

I was in town for business and was recommended by a local family to go to QQ Kitchen. When I pulled into the parking lot, I was tempted to go to the Japanese Steak House and Sushi next door. But then I realized the family would have recommended it, if it was better, but they didn't. I was definitely not disappointed! I ordered the Pad Thai, my favorite....when I ordered it was prime lunch time, and yet my meal was out and hot within 7 minutes! The portion was huge! Taking 1/2 Home (and I was hungry!) I'm not a huge Chinese person, generally I just don't like my meal at Chinese restaurants. This place is by far the best Chinese I've had. They have the best Szechuan with crispy chicken or crispy tofu. They make each order from scratch. We also get the lettuce wraps made with tofu, it's incredible, the flavors! Their spring rolls are also a must get. Great vegetarian/vegan options as well! Try them out if you haven't already! Hoping they open the inside restaurant again soon! read more

Wow! That's how I'll start this review. I love great Chinese food and this place is the best I have had. We all know we can find those "good" Chinese restaurants and we tell our friends; "hey, this place is good!" Most of them probably are but if you want great or probably some of the best Chinese food I would get over to QQ Kitchen! I had the General Tsao which was hot, the chicken had a wonderful crunch, and the sauce had the right amount of heat. Then, I ordered the pan seared dumplings; which you have to order. The dumplings were fresh, light, and the sauce was perfect. This restaurant is doing some special things and thank god it's no where near my house because it would be a problem. This...is...mind blowingly delicious. I've tried the pan fried noodles, gan pan chicken, black bean fish, wings, sesame chicken, jajamyung, and lo mein here and have been thoroughly impressed with everything. Think fast food Asian food but better. Similar dishes but way fresher ingredients and taste and sauces. It's not authentic Asian but it's like a way better version of the Non authentic fast food stuff and it's delicious!!! I like to take home the sauce (of which is always given in generous amounts) and recook fresh veggies and meats in the sauce the next day so one meal here lasts me like 2 more meals later. And they're two more hella delicious meals!!!! Definitely take that sauce home. If you're new to QQ I recommend trying the pan fried noodles (also if you don't like seafood like my bf we opted for no seafood and extra veggies and it was delicious...veggies here have an amazing fresh crunch!) and gan pan chicken! Best spicy chili chicken ever! I loved the black bean fish too but that's more for those who are into the more authentic palate. And I can't wait to try the tangsooyuk (sweet & sour pork). QQ deserves its 5/5. Just. Amazing. read more

QQ is absolutely delicious. (Just confirming, in case you didn't get this sense from other reviewers..) I've tried about quarter of their menu items and none have failed me. In fact, there are a couple dishes that I consider my "go-to" whenever I get cravings for, which in this part of town is a huge plus. It's one of those places that may just change the stereotype of "Jack of all traits and master of none," when they're advertised as Chinese/Korean/Thai restaurant. In my experience these restaurant owners have mostly been Chinese Korean, or Chinese people of Korean descent but the Thai part is throwing me off... Anyway, all I'm trying to say is they are legit! (I've been accused of being a racist for expressing my opinion in this manner.... *sigh*) I am curious about their deal though.. maybe I'll ask next time. read more

I have been a few times now and my review echoes many others. The food is very well prepared and the portions are generous. Honestly though... The clincher for the 5 stars is the way the staff treats you (and everyone else). Not just friendly, but engaging. One of the cooks and I had a great conversation while he was working a wok of some goodness or other. The menu is well varied and while not super authentic, is minimally domesticated for Ohio tastebuds. Eat here. It is way good! read more

You know the food is on point when you wish it was located at your hometown and not in Ohio. Came here for lunch on the way to OH from MI based on Yelp reviews and do not regret a thing. Generous portions and extremely tasty dishes. Even for my more conservative colleagues (in terms of cuisine), they loved their Drunken Noodle and Kimchi Bacon Fried Rice. My pan fried noodle was cooked exactly how I wanted with a delicious garlic-based sauce. I doubt I will have the chance to come back again, but I will always remember with fond memories the food I had at QQ. read more

Just moved to town and thanks to the help of yelpers, came across this gem. got the pad thai and the crab rangoons! crab rangoon were still crispy when i got home (which was about a 20 min drive) and the dipping sauce was delicious! sweet with a slight kick. crab rangoons weren't too heavy with cream cheese. pad thai was a bit sweeter than I'm used to but that didn't stop me from devouring it! overall, would recommend to others looking to try new foods read more

This is by far our favorite Asian food. Family owned and operated. My husband's company first had their Christmas party here. I absolutely love this place. I was frequenting another local joint (rhymes with Lice Ring) and their food was getting more and more disappointing, then they got dinged by the health department and I decided it was time to find a new favorite Chinese restaurant. QQ has excellent food, always tastes freshly made and the portions are nicely sized. I have ordered probably about ten times prior to writing this review and it's been consistently excellent. the food is decent but way way overpriced for what you receive. Inconsistent quality, sometimes, we receive excellent entrees other times, it's all sauce and no vegetables. Female manager is very friendly towards some customers and very unfriendly towards others - wish there were more options for excellent asian food in this area but there isn't. read more

A. They close at 9:30 per their website. B. Apparently if you show up between 9 and 9:30 they won't serve you, despite this NOT being posted on their website as a policy. You can only "call in your order" after 9. In short, when I walk into your business 6 months pregnant at 9:02pm and you refuse to serve me despite your website saying you close at 9:30, you don't deserve my business. This place obviously doesn't give a damn about customer service or even general kindness. No thanks. read more

What a great take out place! (They do have a limited area for dine-in as well.) They have Chinese, Thai, Korean and Chinese-Korean food (like jjajjangmyun and Jjampong). We ate there and it was kinda small and a bit hot on the day that we went but the people working there were super nice. We tried a little bit of everything- the Orange Chicken, Pad Thai, Kimchi Bacon Fried Rice, and Jjajjangmyun. The Orange chicken was just ok. The chicken had a little too much breading and the sauce seemed to have too much soy sauce so seemed more salty than anything. The jjajjangmyun was decent. It's not the best that I've had but it's not bad. The Pad Thai was pretty delish! I would definitely order it from there again. And the Kimchi Bacon Fried Rice was pretty good! Very tasty! I also went there again for take out. The jjampong was pretty good as well. And the prices are pretty reasonable. I can't wait to go there again to try different dishes and to also try the Korean patbingsoo. Since they just opened, they didn't have the machine up and running yet, so I'll have to stop by later to try it. read more

Most amazing food ever! On our way down to Toledo zoo and found them on Yelp. It def is amazing, clean, tasty. I got the Chinese garlic chicken with fried rice. Sooo good! Light breading and very good flavor. Crab ragoons were so good and not so oily And the kids got the lo mien noodles and enjoyed them! All the staff were very nice just check hours before you come and they will be closed for 2 weeks starting July 29th read more

This restaurant is made me a believer in true good food. Everything that me and my co-worker's got was amazing! Like, super freaking perfect. We ended up getting the spring rolls, crab rangoon, a curry dish, lettuce wraps, some general tsao's and some black bean noodles. Like everything was really fresh, the service was spot on, and all the workers seem like they enjoy their job. Food and quality of service I give 5 Stars for sure! read more

The menu is enormous and the food and sauce combos are endless. We came in eight deep, my only complaint is not having enough large tables. If one person gets hot pot, everyone has to get hot pot. If you are going to make everyone at the table pay for hot pot, I think it's only fair to have enough hot plates for everyone at that table. I didn't even want hot pot, I just wanted the Korean barbecue portion, but I still had to pay the increased price. I get the concept, but if you are sitting at a table with six burners and there are eight people, it's a little ridiculous to make all eight of us pay for hot pot if we opt not to order broth and there's not even away for us to make a hot pot. We ordered a lot of food! There were a ton of appetizers, hot pots, and multiple rounds of ordering meats and vegetables. The staff stayed on top of it, we had our drinks refilled regularly, and we never had an empty plate. Prior to leaving, we all ordered bubble tea. This was not my first time here, but this was my first time coming with a group so large. In this instance, I didn't mind because the service truly was exceptional, but watch out for the gratuity that is added by the restaurant. Because it was a large table, they added automatic gratuity at 18 or 20% I can't remember which to be honest. I went to the podium and ordered my bubble tea to go and paid my bill. Without even thinking, I hit 20%, as I always do unless the service is terrible... Don't get me started on why we need to aggressively tip wait staff) As I was walking out, I looked down and realized I paid $62 for lunch! No alcoholic drinks, did not have a soft drink with my meal. Just korean bbq and a water plus my six dollar bubble tea to go. I figured someone else else's drinks or another person's check got added to mine. Nope! That's when I saw they had already added the automatic gratuity. So in addition to the automatically added gratuity, I paid 20% above that. Again, the weight staff were exceptional and we came in with eight people at 11:30 in the morning the minute the doors opened on a Sunday. I just want other people to be aware, not everybody has as much of a discretionary budget as I am unfortunate to have. When I checked into other people in my party suffered the same mistake. All I can say, is that waiter probably made a solid. $150 off us in tips. Good for him though!

This place is aligned fairly well though with food in Korea though ie not highly westernized. This place is in the center of the college area on Liberty and State street. The selection is not extensive but the basics are here including BBQ. Side dishes are decent, Kimchi, which is fundamental to any Korean meal and varies by region, is always included and people have strong opinions about. Theirs is OK but not top notch. Other side dishes are decent. Whatever we ordered, BBQ, Yuk Gae Jang, Dol Sot Bi Bim Bap (Rice. Vegetables and beef inn stone pot), other was pretty good.....just like Seoul Garden used to be before ownership change. We used to go almost exclusively to Seoul Garden near the mall off Boardwalk but after ownership change stopped as the taste changed significantly and not for the better. Its nice to have The Seoul is an option. They have beer and soju (Ubiquitous Korean liquor in Korea that along with Kimchi is many Koreans blood) Environment of the restaurant is modern but still a bit cozy. Overall, definitely worth a try. While we are at it, I have spent allot of time in Japan on business (some vacationing too) and I know it's trendy to go there now especially with the exchange rate, and by all means go, allot to see and experience (and eat!) there. But don't overlook Korea. The two countries have a torrid history and don't want to admit they are similar in many ways....but they are and Korea is loaded with great places to go and food to eat.
