Folks finding out the kitchen closed early without warning.

Drove 80 miles and arrived 8 PM (2 hours prior to the posted close time), watched unhappy customers walkout, found out it was due to the kitchen closed early. While getting into my vehicle, observed 2 more couples walking away. MEXICAN restaurant next door bar down the street appearing to be serving customers. What a lack of customer service. Amblance, not that impressive. Disappointing night somes it up. Thank god we were able to find a restaurant open in Maumee.

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but the inside dining area is nice. It is very small so you should definitely make reservations. The scallops were ok, but the grain with it were awful. It was very dry and not flavorful. The Wellington was not bad so that's a plus! The drinks were good, but nothing special. The staff was nice so that was a plus. Other than that, I wouldn't come again.

While in the Perrysburg area, visiting family, my husband's cousin and his wife wanted to take us to their favorite restaurant. Always a fan of going out to dinner, and trying a new place, I was very excited to hear this news. We had been traveling all day with our newborn, and we were looking forward to treating ourselves. We had a reservation and we were able to be seated right away. We had a nice booth near the front of the restaurant, close to the bar. There is ample parking in front of the restaurant. I loved the fact that the chef changes the menu every day. I love variety. There were a few items that seemed like staples of the restaurant. My husband's cousin's wife says that she orders the scallops every time that she comes there because they are so delicious. That was tempting, but I did opt for the salmon. It was out of the ordinary for me as I typically won't eat salmon that is not wild caught except for when it is Scottish salmon. We got the yellow fin tuna appetizer as well as the patè. I have never tried liver patè before so it was a first for me. Although it did taste pretty game-y, I did like it more than I thought I would. My husband ordered the ribeye, but it wasn't a great cut of meat. He couldn't cut through it because the cartilage was there. He ended up sending it back and the chef totally agreed and apologized and gave him scallops on the house. We did not stay for dessert, sadly as it was getting a little late for our newborn, but we will need to go back for that. We got to try a new cocktail they had on tap that had edible glitter in it, as well as we ordered a few bottles of wine that we all shared at the table. My husband and his cousin enjoyed some martinis, and overall the service was incredible, the food was great, and the environment was perfect. The chef came over to us and talked to us about the menu, and sat down and chatted with us. It's a very great environment and next time we are visiting them in Perrysburg, I hope to return.

Came here for dinner on a week night as I was in town for a business trip First cumbersome part of this small yet quaint and cute establishment is that their website is not updated the email address on there is not current there are no menus online to view that are current and in order to make a reservation it leads directly to an email address of the chef and owner I made two changes to the reservation had to go back-and-forth in the email and he just stopped responding at one point As soon as you enter the establishment you are greeted by a heavy cloud of smoke even though there are prominent signs displayed at the bar area saying no smoking We opted for no appetizers the salads were par the beef Wellington was cooked perfectly however the outside dough or Philo dough was soggy The crème brûlée was runny but the flavor was on point The staff is extremely kind and friendly and super helpful I cannot complain about the service We got very lucky on parking out front however I can see how this can be an issue even during a weeknight

Very good service and meal. Halibut for me and Scottish salmon for my wife. But the creme brûlée was the highlight.

It's beautiful inside, the servers and staff are attentive and helpful, and the food is always very good. For example, my client ordered the Blackened Shrimp Alfredo and the shrimp were carefully placed to be standing up in a circle which was so much more attractive than if they were simply laying in the pasta and sauce. I also appreciate the convenient location off of 475 and the large parking lot.

I was disappointed in the lack of European wines but found an Italian on the last bottle list. It was $150 but I was desperate. Unfortunately, our server didn't come back for 15 min to take our order and then when she finally delivered it, she broke the cork because she didn't screw down far enough. Alcohol is a big money maker yet we sat for 40 minutes before it was poured. The food was the main problem. Not only a super slow kitchen but it was then served refrigerator cold. Everything. Fish, steak, green beans, baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, even the plate was frigid. So we sent it back and instead of preparing a new plate, they tried to just warm it and brought it back cold..again. This was a $75 plate of food. At this point, we were concerned about food safety and said to just forget it. Luckily we had bread with our wine but they never offered anything else other than not charging us for the food which we didn't even touch. This was two hours after our arrival so went home hungry after paying for the wine. To top it off, there was a loud, raging fight in the bar area that we heard across the restaurant so we waited until they had left, concerned about a physical altercation. All of the food was amazing, but hands down the table favorite was honestly the whipped feta. It's what dreams are made of! It had a slightly spicy oil topper, and delicious crostini! The only note I would give, is that the bacon appetizer really needs to come with a steak knife for sharing. It was a little too hard to cut with just the butter knife. Steaks and sides are all prepared perfectly, the button mushrooms were a hit as well. I would completely recommend this restaurant to anyone, and will return again if I'm back in the area.

They did absolutely nothing wrong, but in the end, our mealnsits above average. The first thing is the food. The portions are not huge, but that's okay at an expensive place. My ribeye was cooked exactly medium rare and was a nice cut of meat. However, it was drowning in butter and was just too salty for the meat to shine through. A good steak, but not great and maybe not even very good. My wife's scallops were very good and came with a great corn relish underneath. The sides must be ordered separately. We got the mashed potatoes and those were absolutely excellent-- probably also too much butter, but that just makes potatoes better. We got the feta appetizer and that was good, but very thick in our mouths. My wife had the leftovers for lunch and found it better as it's own meal The service was simply great. They knew we wouldn't finish the feta and had it boxed and bagged with extra toast before we were done with our entrees. Nice, attentive, detailed. We both looked at the cocktails and wines and saw nothing that interested us. We're not big drinkers, but were surprised. Usually an expensive place has something for us. The tables are very large. We were on a date, but we felt too far to have an intimate conversation. My wife skipped a few topics because it felt too public to talk about them. I do not disagree with paying a lot for exceptional food. I came in expecting to drop $200 on dinner. I wanted to wine and dine my lovely wife. But Benchmark was not exceptional. It was above average. And when I'm trying to decide between 3 and 4 stars, feeling as though it's not worth the price makes me drop to 3. It would have been 4 stars at $100 or maybe $150.

Just went back Saturday night. Things were off…read more.. I made a reservation and they sat us in front of the main entrance. Every time the door opened, we had a blast of freezing cold air. I kind of thought the nicer tables would have been saved for folks that made reservations. The waitress took forever to take our drink orders. It took forever to get the drinks. We ordered our meals when the drinks came so we could try to get ahead of the curve. The soup/salads came and before we could finish, the main courses started coming out. This really upsets me. Take forever to take our orders and then rush us out the door. Dinner rolls are available, but one has to ask for them. It's in very small print on the menu. Why the server can't ask if the diners would like bread is B.S. I know their method saves them money, but I think they could change their practice and still keep the lights on. The prime rib was tough and not very flavorful this time. The server didn't bus any of the salad or soup dishes, so the table was an overly crowded mess by the end. Seriously, to have to keep your side towards the middle of the table is just a P.I.T.A. Not sure how much potato fell off of my fork on its way to my face. The price for dinner this time was $107.00 for the same meal we had back in November. That does not include the tip. In the end, not worth it in any way.
