So the food is very good! Fast service nice service! Large portions. And I like the ambience. Not too loud nice booth. However I will add this when we were leaving we saw to dehumidifiers that they are running. They were filthy dirty and I think they could've just taken some soapy water and wiped off the units. (it made me second-guess the cleanliness of the restaurant )There were five people at the desk and they were really nice they said goodbye and all that stuff. I visited Kira on a Saturday morning about 30 minutes after they opened. I was surprised that my friend and I were the first and only people in the restaurant. However, this restaurant tends to fill up and become lively as the day goes on. I was satisfied with my experience at Kira. It's not my favorite hibachi restaurant, but it's definitely good. They also give you SO MUCH food. Even when I order food to go, the portions are the exact same. For most hibachi lunch or dinners you get both noodles and fried rice. However, I tend to opt out of the noodles for extra rice. Even though it was only two of us at the table, our chef still included all the fun tricks that would be expected for a full party. Lastly, Kira probably has the best Lobster Rangoons that I've ever tasted. Mark my words, I will order the Lobster Rangoons every time I dine there. Overall, I give Kira 4 stars because they understand the assignment. Keep your customers happy with friendly service, serve fresh and hot food, and provide them with an entertaining dining experience. Definitely give Kira a try if you haven't already! read more

Great food, with very large portions. One order of hibachi could easily be two meals for an adult. They have two sides, one for hibachi grilling and the other with just regular table service and a bar. I've always had good experiences with service. The only issue I've ever had is with waiting times. They get very busy around dinner and sometimes it's over an hour wait. I'm also not sure if they still do reservations. read more

The absolute worst dining experience in all of Toledo. Our party clearly told the waiter we had a severe shrimp allergy at our table. Despite the request to have the food cooked in the back (as is customary to prevent cross-contact), the waiter insisted he would just cook it "in the corner of the grill." Things escalated when scallops and lobster were mixed with the order, and only after extreme objection did they finally cook the food separately in the back. The manager argued that shrimp and other shellfish allergies are treated differently here, which is both shocking and dangerous. According to ServSafe, "Food allergens are proteins, and even a tiny amount of allergen can cause a reaction. Cooking does not remove allergens, and cross-contact must be strictly avoided." Ignoring these guidelines puts guests at serious risk. The lack of protocol, disregard for customer safety, and dismissive attitude raise serious concerns that proper ServSafe procedures are not being followed at this establishment. read more

Decent food, decent service. The food was good for the price. Rolls were generally $15 and under, which is very cheap compared to restaurants I am used to. I got the snow mountain which was very yummy but not impressive. I also ordered the bento box with shrimp with fried rice. The fried rice was very yummy and I would return just for that. The salad that came with our dinner was delicious and I loved the dressing. The miso soup did not taste like miso at all and was very unauthentic. As for service, it was not the best. We arrived ay 7:45 (they close at 9:30) and asked for a table. They said they stop seating at 8, so they couldn't seat us. We told them the time and asked why, since we were 15 minutes early. They ended up seating us. It took a while for waters and to take our order, which is surprising since the restaurant was pretty quiet. When this restaurant first open we loved their hibachi. I would always get the NY strip hibachi. My boyfriend later found he loved their sushi's! The atmosphere was really nice when they first opened. Throughout the years you can tell there is very little upkeep on the restaurant. Sadly during covid their food went down hill. The NY strip was very fatty, unlike any new York strip steak I've ever had. I sent it back and got another piece of steak which had the same fattiness throughout the meat. It was very unappetizing, hopefully they will go back to their original standards at some point. Second time here and enjoyed both visits. We ordered sashimi and the server gave us a heads up that we may have ordered too much as there are 2 or 3 slices per order. I scaled back my order and was glad I did! It appears that each person automatically gets a bowl of soup (not miso, maybe a beef broth) and a small salad. The dressing was creamy and not the usual ginger dressing. Hubby ordered the Santa roll (a special that day). It had seaweed salad in it and it was delicious! I had the sashimi and ordered the king crab salad. I had bariatric surgery earlier this year and had way too much food. I would have been fine with just the king crab salad. So went to this location for sushi. First I have been to the east coast to the west coast and thru out the middle of the US for sushi. I ordered edamame where they never brought it out. Their green tea is lipton. And to finalize the order at most places I order omakase so they had a triple speciality roll combo for $41. I asked for the chef choice they brought two of the cheapest rolls and ones slightly more in cost out. All were a quality of just slightly above "insert chain" supermarket level. I can't say much about the hibachi since we were over there but if you want sushi; go to Kroger get three roles and get some good green tea instead of going here...only reason for the second star the food was edible. read more

I can gladly say that this is the new hibachi spot to be! Kira is certainly one of the more cool atmospheric environments to dine in. Their blue neon tables, bright glass green backdrops, metallic lining, and slick tile floors all add up to a very modernistic aesthetic. I felt like I was eating in a bit if a Blade Runner style location. The service is quick to attend to you, as well as kind. Aside from the very techno chill vibe, the food is very tasty and definitely fills you up. I went to eat hibachi, and only nibbled on a little but of sushi. From what I sampled, the sushi was not the best, but the hibachi I was great! The hibachi meals are roughly $25 each, and have a variety from chicken and shrimp, filet mignon, NY steak with chicken or shrimp, Lobster, etc. They will up charge your dish if you are sharing with one other. But there is also a meal for 2 for $52. You make your choices, then await for chef to come and entertain you very well. This is very much dinner and a show, and be ready to participate. The chef may call upon you to catch an egg in your shirt pocket, maybe catch a vegetable in your mouth, or see how far he can shoot water or sake into your mouth. I advice really getting in the mood with your chef, because the more excited and willing you are, the more entertaining they will be. If you have a choice or chance, I highly recommend getting the Indonesian chef with red curly hair. He is extremely fun, sings, dances, and yells. If you do not like to participate, or do not like the show aspect, they have regular dining on the other side, closer to the sushi and bar. You may also feel free to order sushi and alcohol even if you are seated at the hibachi table. The hibachi meals one with your choice meat, as well as a salad, miso soup, plenty fried rice, low mein noodles, and grilled vegetables. There is a lot, and it is paced out. As for the meat choice, it isn't an abundance of meat but I would recommend the filet mignon. The chicken is very bland. Go filet mignon, or steak with shrimp. The environment is very noisy on the hibachi side, seeing how there are more people, parties screaming, blades clashing, and fires roaring. But I had a very enjoyable and memorable time. As a tip, if you have a chance have a drink at the bar, because it looks awesome! Also, careful walking, because the floors are cleaned often and are slippery. This review is only based on if you plan on getting ONLY sushi rolls. We got 4 rolls- the Kira, buckeye, hot lover, and tiger. All the rolls had WAYYY too much sauce on them. The buckeye and tiger rolls and just a ton of eel sauce- we even got the spicy mayo on the side I cant imagine what it would have been like with it on. The hot lover and kira roll had eel sauce and a yellow sauce that just didnt make it taste very good and were also covered. Honestly I think the rolls would have been fine if they weren't covered so heavily in sauces. It could be that I wasn't a fan of their eel sauce I am not really sure but normally my Fiancé and I ate sushi at Domo or Kotobuki and both werent open before 3 when we were eating. We dined at Kira for the first time and truly enjoyed the hibachi experience. Hubby had steak and I opted for chicken and salmon. It was perfectly cooked and the portions were huge! Two stars is honestly a bit on the generous side! We had birthday reservations for a decent sized family and decided to wait at the bar with a cocktail. Well waiting is EXACTLY what we did. Finally someone walks over to serve us, and apparently he's not the bartender but "can make drinks". My henricks gin and tonic was good, but fool proof. The cosmos that were ordered didn't fair so well. We sat at hibachi and things continued to get worse. The timing of dinner service was awful. The non hibachi meals hit the table before the hibachi chef even came out. Strike two.... now for the hibachi itself. When we thought dinner could only get better we were soooo wrong. The soup had zero flavor and the salad was drenched in dressing. I had rare tuna supposedly sushi grade, nope! Fishy poorly seasoned and was sick as hell later that night. It was the first protein to hit the grill??? Why??? The tuna takes a minute tops. So again my food is there getting cold while I wait for the rest of our party to get there assorted filet/chicken/shrimp etc. The proportions were seriously off. I understand the portion sizing for proteins, but the veggies were scarce, like barely there scarce. I think I had a few onions one measly sad little broccoli floret and a mushroom or two. No worries though they PILE on rice AND greasy soggy lo mein noodles. Think a mountain of carbs and then sprinkle on a bit more. I will say our waiter was attentive and our hibachi chef entertaining. The place has a great vibe, cool seating, and great lighting and modern design. I love hibachi but I will not be back. Sad since it's right in the neighborhood. Honestly the hibachi chefs are awesome and make the visit worth it but if you're looking for good tasting food then this isn't really the place. I knew coming here that the food would probably be bland (like most hibachi restaurants) the main purpose of coming here is for the show. If you're not coming for the show I suggest other Asian restaurants in the area that are cheaper and taste significantly better. The 3 star rating is for the great customer service and the talented hibachi chefs. If I were rating this place strictly by the taste of the food I would only give it 1 star read more

We went on New Years Night and the place was relatively empty. I have to agree with some of the previous reviews that the host (who I later found out was the owner) was quite rude and short in his replies. The waitress and hibachi chief were friendly and we had a blast with all the activities. The fried rice was great, but the noodles were quite over cooked. The medium rare steaks we ordered were more like medium well. The restaurant seemed under staffed as the dirty dishes from the table across from us didn't get cleaned up until we were done with our meal (the dishes were there well before we were sat). Overall, the bill came out to be over $100 for the four of us. It was worth it for the experience, but definitely not the quality of the food. read more
