The staff was very friendly but they had their hands full with the lunch rush so they were not as attentive as I would liked. The place was clean however the ambiance was low, and the waiting area was a little dingy. A fresh coat of paint, rug, and new chairs would go a long way. Also, some background music would make the wait less awkward. The food alone was about a 4.7. but I'm going to give it a 4 overall. This restaurant says they are good for groups.. Not so.... We had reservations for 5pm.. There were 17 of us and we were in an area by ourselves. We had an inexpensive waitress and she had to take care of us all alone. No one helped her get drinks or make bubble teas and not until we said something did the majority of us get our food. We Found out first of all that she didn't even put our food in till about 30 minutes after we ordered. Then a lady in charge said that they usually take care of the smaller tables first. Ridiculous!.we waited for more than an hour and a half for everyone to receive food and all our kids were late for their dance... Never again. Disorganized for larger groups. What a disappointment. Have frequented this restaurant for years, from prior location on Airport Hwy to Levi's Commons. Went for lunch a few days ago and was the only customer the entire time, which should have been a warning. I ordered a bento with beef bulgogi, (supposedly ribeye, and a wonton soup. (Very overpriced). I normally love soups, especially won ton. Tasteless. Some small bok choy, one won ton. The dish merely tasted of salt water. The supposed ribeye was dry, shredded, salty, tasteless otherwise. I love Korean food and fusion restaurants normally. This restaurant has lost its way. Went here for my daughter's birthday lunch. We ordered beef Kimbop roll, lettuce cups as an appetizer. They were delicious! For a meal I ordered the Almond Boneless chicken, wife got the Mongolian Beef, daughter ordered the general TSO chicken. All food was presented very well and had a great look to it and taste. The restaurant is very clean and has a good ambience, I also really like the music they were playing. Definitely will be back soon hopefully for dinner tonight . read more

I have never left a negative review, but this experience was too disappointing not to share. I paid $28 for the almond chicken, crab Rangoon and it was terrible. The meal was mostly raw cabbage with dry, burnt, crusty chicken and raw mushrooms. It did come with gravy, but the gravy tasted overwhelmingly salty. Overall, the food was completely unappetizing. I called the restaurant to speak with the manager because I was so dissatisfied. At first, she said she would issue me a refund, but then I was told there was something wrong with her phone and that she would call me back. When she did, she tried to give me a refund and than said there was something wrong with the cash register and that she couldn't process the refund. She called me back again, but the call was disconnected, and I never received the refund that had been promised. I've never written a bad restaurant review before, but this experience--from the poor quality of the food to the lack of customer service--was extremely disappointing. We are long time customers and have always been happy with the food and service at Tea Tree. Something has changed. We ordered 13 rolls for our table. The Lava was simply awful. A gooey flavorless mess. The Shrimp (Tempura) was over cooked to a non existant crisp, and the soft shell crab was right behind it. Had to ask for plates, had to ask for chop sticks. Had to ask for ginger. Had to ask for wasabi. They brought out enough for one person. I am guessing their chef moved on. Went here for date night. I was shocked my wanted sushi and I was all on board. We sat at the bar and both bartenders we amazing! Great personalities and customer service. We asked for their recommendations and it didn't disappoint. You probably want to know what sushi we got and honestly don't remember. We ordered five rolls and not one of them were bad or less than the others. Two were the two bartenders recommendations. We did have the fried asparagus for an app it was awesome! Stopped for lunch before checking in to our getaway at Belamere. Restaurant is beautiful inside with comfortable seating and lots of open space. We ordered the won ton soup which was prepared differently than most. There was a beef broth and spinach and zucchini and mushrooms. Lots of pepper and lots of flavor. We each had a crab Rangoon and the filling was perfect! The entree we shared was almond chicken served with two servings of brown rice. We managed through Covid together. They helped me through my skin cancer, and I needed more spice in my food so I could taste it. As a customer, you are expecting perfection, the Tea Tree family delivers. No business in food service is perfect every day. I know because I had a coffee house for 20 years in Perrysburg. Employee training, new chief, wait staff, etc. There are many parts to your experience. We have been customers for decades and have spent $1000's of dollars in food, dinning in and carryout. I've been going here for years - since probably 2010/2011 at least. The major draw is their half-off sushi days (currently Tuesdays and Thursdays). Not all the sushi will be on sale (no special rolls) but you can get some amazing deals! I love the Alaskan roll and shrimp tempura. The mango roll is sweet, warm, and tasty. Had the Vietnamese roll with shrimp - eh, I've had better in Portland and other places. For $6 I wouldn't advise it. The house salad with dressing is good. I had the lemon lavender cocktail and honestly my friend and I couldn't taste the lavender - the whole reason I got it. It tasted good, but not for $10 (and was just a small wine glass). Service is usually good, but it depends how busy they are. Some complaints. But! Half off sushi is worth it, so I keep going. read more

There are delicious vegetarian options and vegan options as well. The lychee sake is a favorite. The only thing that I don't care for, this is my personal opinion, I don't like that the straw is in my drink when I get it. I prefer to unwrap my own straw, rather than someone else touching it. A half hour later.....finally done. A to go container, with the sushi/sashimi laid on top, mediocre hot and sour soup and a small salad. All that took almost an HOUR to prepare. 4 of us just returned from having lunch and ordered the special Sangria at $4. BUT-our server came to the table carrying four tall wine glasses full of red and white sangria. As he served one glass, the whole tray fell over onto the table and one of us. She was soaked with wine and her purse was flooded with wine. We stood and wiped off and sat at another table and were served fresh drinks. We all placed our orders and were served lunch entree. Food was good but I was very sad to see that we weren't comped our drinks. We were offered a dessert or 10% off our bill. We felt bad for our server and his attention to us was good. We started out with the Vietnamese Summer Rolls, they had good flavor & we enjoyed the 2 dipping sauces. Next up was the Bulgogi hotplate, exactly what I expected from a restuarant that is not authentically Korean. We followed that up with squid, tuna, & salmon sashimi. The sashimi cuts were great! We weren't a fan of the texture of the squid. We had surf clam, octopus, & eel nigiri...all 3 were great! We also had the Philly roll, spicy tuna maki, & the soft shell crab maki. All 3 were great! We loved the cream cheese in the Philly roll! I ordered 2 glasses of Cupcake Moscato & he ordered hot sake (he was thrilled because this isn't something you see often in Michigan). Onto our waitress, she was fantastic & I've sadly forgotten her name. I told her she was going to have to roll us back to Belamere & said said "Oh! Let me start by saying the food was all good...just not hot enough. We got a selection of appetizers and shared an entree. It was good but not great. We ordered a bunch of hand rolls and nigiri/sashimi and I honestly couldn't tell you which roll was which but all of them were actually pretty good. I liked the rolls with the soft crab and shrimp tempura the best, and the stand out nigiri was the one wrapped in a soybean pod. While it wasn't the best sushi I've ever had, I thought for the happy hour prices, it was a good deal for the amount of food. But I would never pay full price for it lol. read more

I've gone here in the past (pre-pandemic) and it was decent. Maybe 4 stars, but not 5. Went back yesterday and everything was about the same with slower service and everything $5 more expensive. I'm the day, I could get a special sushi roll for $12-$14 now they hover around $20. I got the wonton soup and it was not what I was wanting. They tried to fancy it up to justify the $6 price point, but the wonton was lacking flavor and the broth was granular and tasted more like miso than chicken broth. Maybe I'm trashy, but I much prefer the way the local "hole-in-the-wall" Chinese place does it. I've had the other dishes in the past, and I've just been disappointed. Again, I'm disappointed, but now, I'm $100. If I'm going to get sushi here, better to come on half-off sushi night or go some place where paying $20 for sushi is worth it. read more
