I used to love this place. I would go in here for lunch semi-regularly, often enough that two of the servers remembered me. I'd get a roll and a salad. The roll was amazing then. I had started telling my wife "I can't believe something can taste this good!" The only other place in Toledo I would have something about which I would say this about was Souk. But then sometime towards the end of last year, the roll changed. It was still pretty good, but not the superb thing I had come to love. So I stopped coming in so often, but still once in a while in the hopes that they would go back to how they used to make it. I'd given up, but today broke down and went in today as I missed it so much. But my hopes were dashed as the roll was just pretty good. So I'll have to start the search to find another place to get my fix for rolls. Another thing is that during this time frame is how most of the time the salad comes out with just a bare dribble of dressing on it. I came here with some girlfriends for dinner. We have a friend that has a silica allergy so she cannot have gluten. When we arrived we asked our server and she brought over another server that was gluten free as well. She went over all the great gluten free items as well as great substitute options to stay gluten free. We ordered some steamed sugar snap peas and we all ordered some great sushi. Had lunch here with two friends on a Wednesday. The place was nearly empty. My friends had the lunch teriyaki chicken and liked that. It came with a salad. They liked the dressing. It also came with miso soup, which they let me try. All three of us agreed it was too salty and had no other flavor. I had the cooked New York Roll. It had one measly shrimp cut in half to decorate each end. The overall flavor was not bad, but the beef strips on top looked tired. Overall not a fan enough to return. read more

We came in on Black Friday evening after calling in reservations. We were immediately seated upon arrival and the staff was very good. The food was excellent. So we were driving through and accidentally went to their old closed location but didn't fret because when sushi calls you drive right back to the right location. So glad we did, the place is amazing. The staff are super friendly and attentive without feeling like you're being watched. They had a sizable Friday night crowd so we knew we chose well even before the food. Also the soda fountain had free refills which was awesome. We ordered five rolls and they came out timely. I got two vegan rolls and the rice was super fresh and both were delicious. I was super impressed by the specialty vegetarian roll. Also, these rolls are big and very filling. My husband had three different eel type rolls and said the shrimp tempura eel roll was his favorite. Something he hasn't seen around us. Recently had a great meal there - Spicy tuna roll and a California roll. Delicious. My first time back since they re-modeled (they had a fire I think???). Both rolls were well made and on-par with what these would cost at other sushi restaurants ($7.00-8.00 per roll). First time here today with a friend from out of town. The waitress was very nice and helpful. We ordered the Avocado Bombs and those were delicious! We both ordered hot tea that was very weak for me. My friend ordered the Teriyaki Salmon that came with a salad and miso and she liked it. I had the miso and the flavor was just ok. There was very little greens and only one piece of tofu. Overall, the sushi was very fresh but a little lacking. I ordered the Star Roll and the Ninja roll. The rolls were skimpy, barely any salmon in the Star. The Ninja had a very thick piece of tuna on top and the crab was a good size but the rest of the ingredients were almost non-existent. I'll probably go back with my husband for a second try or at least for the Avocado Bombs bc they were awesome. In the end there are 3 other sushi places that I like better in Toledo read more

It was pretty busy that night and a little loud, which is always a turn-off for my husband, but that is always a great sign for me because it means the food is good! This is the first place I have ever had Agadashi Tofu, and can I just say that I still think it's the best in the city of Toledo? Of course, I haven't tried every place here, but it still has been the best so far. They have fabulous sushi rolls and sushi. I haven't really tried their entrees, but I'm sure they're stellar. My husband is celiac and the salad and soup that came with his entre were not gluten free. My husband asked to upgrade his salad and soup and pay the difference, but chef/manager refused to do so. We have eaten here a number of times. The food is generally good. The staff seems to be somewhat familiar with the dishes, some more than others. Its a dimly lit restaurant with a nice atmosphere but the tables are a bit close so you will hear others conversations. Its not cheap or expensive for Japanese food but leans on the higher side. The sushi is OK for midwest US sushi. NOTE: This place closes after lunch. I arrived at 2:10PM, was seated by the hostess and was waiting for my family for a few minutes and another person approached and urged me to get my orders in by 2:15PM. They were 10 minutes away so I left upset. Super annoying and ruined our lunch since we had to go to another restaurant. I have spent extensive amounts of time in Asia including Japan and was never asked to get my order in even if they closed soon. Once your seated that would considered rude. Really any country for that matter including the US. How weird. Not a bad place overall but this experience upset me. Don't seat people and then embarrass them by essentially making them get up and leave if they cant order right away.......very unprofessional I suggest closing the doors at 1:30PM so you can be sure everyone's order are in early. The number of choices can be intimidating. We weren't overly adventurist with our first sushi adventure, but we wanted to try new delights. For an appetizer, we had tuna tataki. Where the tuna was seared. And it was covered with a seaweed salad. Very good For the main course, we split a California Roll and a Star Roll. Very similar. The California had crab. Everything was fresh, timely and delicious! We arrived before the normal dinner rush and were welcomed by our server, Sarah. Our starters were amazing, the spicy calamari and the miso soup. Portions were perfect, just enough to save room for the main course. The blue ocean roll was my favorite tonight. It was so fresh and so flavorful. Next we ordered the Kiss of Fire and the Spicy Tiger Rolls. Both were delicious. The atmosphere inside is friendly.
