I've been sleeping on Rice Blvd. Don't understand why it took me so long to try their food. Now that I've experienced it-- I will be making this place my new go to spot for sushi, wings and ramen. The restaurant is dainty, but clean and refreshing. Staff were also wonderful and uniquely creative in style and diversity.

Got the beef with curry and rice. Small and simple and worth the money. Sauce was nice and not overly salty. Beef was tender and thinly sliced and mixed perfectly with rice. Vegetables balanced the heaviness of the dish. It is self-service. If you are in the area, you ought to give this place a try if craving Japanese food or sushi.

I ordered the spicy chicken bento box with California roll. They were busy with takeout and sit down orders, but our food was out within 10 minutes of placing the order. Very clean restaurant with Great Food and Excellent Service!!

Had the spicy ramen and it was delicious. Broth was creamy, not so spicy but it's ok. The noodle was perfect, chewy, and not soggy. The charsui pork was tender, the bamboo shoots was a great touch. Would have liked chinese broccoli instead of the bok choy, but that was OK. Best ramen I have had in a long time. Also, had the chirashi bowl. The fish was fresh, it wasn't cold, the fish was room temperature so the texture was wonderful, tender and not soft like the fish was left out for a long time or fish was old. The rice was warm and not too much where it takes away from the flavor of the fish. Would definitely recommend and next time when I get back to Toledo, I know where I am going. The chirashi also came with a miso soup. I cannot really comment on the soup as when I got to the soup it was already getting room temperature, but I'm sure it would have been great like the rest of the dishes. I should have drank the miso first, but I forgot to as the other dishes looked to appetizing. Compliments to the chef and his/her team for an appealing and tasteful dinner.

Excellent place! Heard a lot about this Japanese restaurant in Toledo. Taste is very traditional. Place is clean and spacious. People are super friendly! Got their chicken bento box and enjoyed every part of it! Also tried their sushi roll (forgot the name) and salmon was very fresh. Would demurely recommend!

Same as above, still an awesome place I frequent. I remembered to take a photo of the food before inhaling all of it this time. Service is still great, food comes out fairly quick, and the place has a peaceful atmosphere.

Such a staple at UT. Good prices and good food. Seating is limited and it's best to call ahead if you're doing a to go order.

    No they do not

When will Rice Blvd re-open? I thought they would have already. Will they be in the same location?

They recently re-opened about 1.5 weeks ago. Same location, same food!

Insane gem in Toledo. I do have to say "no, SERIOUSLY" when I talk about this spot to friends and…read moream generally met with (understandable!) skepticism that sushi in the Midwest could be so phenomenal. 6/5 stars. The omakase is a must experience for any foodie and especially for anyone who loves sushi & yakitori! Came here for the first time 4 years ago, and again a few weeks ago. What struck me is that the same head sushi chef was there then and now and that they haven't really changed the menu too much. Yes absolutely there were new and creative twists, but there are tried and true staples which have been mastered. That feels like their vibe overall - friendly, neighborly, confidence in what they have and will keep doing what they're doing, seemingly resisting any pressure to expand or get bigger. It's perfection! The omakase menu has three phases: chef's kitchen, yakitori, sushi (gorgeous nigiri courses finished with the most insane cut roll I've ever had). Everything is delicious. No misses. My favorite phase is the sushi. We STARTED that off with the most melty buttery otoro. I thought that was bold, surely it could only go downhill from there. I was proved wrong bite after bite!! Seriously, imagine a series of nigiri bites that hold their own after the BEST. Of the yakitori, the chicken meatballs were my fave, so juicy never change. Highest quality, well crafted, expertly executed menu. Lowkey I also love that this omakase ends with the most delicious cut roll, and not dessert. As a savory girl through and through, this is perfect. The onlyyyy downside is that all the rich food gives me a bit of a stomachache afterwards :D. 10000% worth it.

Wow... everything was delicious!…read more This place gets very busy. As in, they write your name on the door outside busy. Such a good idea. Thankfully, we arrived before the rush. The restaurant is small, with seating at the bar, around the sushi counter, and a handful of tables. The drinks were good, and the food was excellent quality at reasonable prices. Don't bother looking on their website for a menu like I did. The menu is handwritten daily and changes based on what's fresh and available. If you're not a fan of sushi, don't worry. They have a great selection of Yakitori for those looking for something different. My husband had the Beef Tongue, Pork Belly, and the Kurobuta (Berkshire pork) Sausage. He enjoyed all of them. The sausage was good, but it tasted like a fairly typical sausage and was on the smaller side. I had the Mango Kengo roll, which was very well done. The salmon was incredibly fresh. It was a little spicier than I prefer because of the Togarashi seasoning, which also seems to accompany many of the yakitori dishes. We also ordered the Ika Maruyaki (grilled squid). We both love squid, especially when it's prepared this way, but this dish just wasn't as good as we had hoped. We were both a little underwhelmed. The sushi and sashimi were beautifully sliced, incredibly fresh, and definitely high quality. I tried the Madai for the first time and really enjoyed it. The fluke was excellent, and the salmon was exactly what you'd expect from high quality salmon. I finally tried Uni as well. It was very fresh, but I learned it's just not for me. Overall, I'm very excited to go back and try more of the menu. I do wish the server was friendlier.
