Went to this place for my moms birthday with party of 6, 3 kids 3 adults, food was hit and miss some things were very good and some things were very bad, we had Branzino that was one of the best we ever had, Salmon was very good also, however the grilled chicken kabobs something was wrong with it i have intense stomach pain and so does my son, i noticed something wrong when some of the meat was very stiff and was not even chewable i had to take it out of my mouth, other then that food was okay and not the main complain it was my moms Birthday i told them to bring a little cake waited 30 min kids were going crazy we had to get up and leave. service was slow and unforgivable when u pay what you pay for this place for birthday dinner without a cake. This is a neighborhood place we wanted to try. The atmosphere and outdoor seating is great. We were happy with our food - my wife loved the mushroom ravioli. I had the wood oven pizza with Hungarian sausage - very tasty. The downside is the service. After we got our order we never saw the server again. Until we had to have several folks find him - very frustrating The upside on service was the woman running the floor. She got it and hopefully will help our server to get better. read more

I'm really happy to give this establishment five stars. I originally found this place thanks to a recommendation from a friend, he HIGHLY recommended it for a romantic date night. I couldn't agree more as the atmosphere is absolutely gorgeous. In the evening it's an - under the Stars, moonlit, amongst the trees, European... sorta vibe. I've never dined towards the inside but every time I've eaten here a live band has been up there setting the tone with a pleasant Italian acoustic ambiance. It's never bothered me; meaning music can easily overwhelm some places... but not here. It gently weaves into the setting like the vines and shrubbery surrounding the patio. Everything on the menu has been absolutely divine. I think the prices are extremely spot on. The presentation is always gorgeous. The waiters have been polite and friendly. They're very good at letting you be when you're in a conversation, and they seem to show up at the perfect moments for a checkup. There's no specific item I recommend as everything I've had I really enjoyed. I would recommend you Uber here if you can. The valet service is nice but it can be tricky finding parking elsewhere. If a manager is reading this, my only 'helpful' feedback to you would be about the tables outside. I'm really tall and on every occasion I've eaten here, the table sits right atop my legs, so I'm never perfectly comfortable. I found that lounging like royalty is the most comfortable way to sit by the tables. But if you're on a first date you will be judged for sitting like the king waiting to be fed grapes. This place maybe a hidden gem in the middle of Burbank. From outside it doesn't look like anything special but once you get in, it has an awesome outdoors area with trees, bushes, fountain and great seating areas. Inside has cool decor, artists painting, and a Stage (hence the name) with pretty good artists playing Jazz and other styles. They have a good selection of drinks and even a better selection of food. I've tried their skewers, salads and their pizza and they were all great. Specially the skewers were fantastic, juicy with high quality meat. Their service was also pretty good. So overall there's not much not to love about The Stage, the only reason I wouldn't give it 5-star is a bit of the higher price for the food but you get what you pay for. This is a true hidden gem. You could drive by it once or twice trying to find it. The restaurant has good parking. The outdoor space is amazing with several distinct areas for large groups or intimate dinners for two. I have honestly never eaten inside - they have a very modern/rusitc space but the garden is so delightful, I always eat out there. The menu is varied without being too big. Food is well prepared and beautifully presented. I have never had a bad meal here. There is a good assortment of salads , grilled meats, pasta/rice dishes and wood fired pizza Some stand outs: Shrimp Gruyere - huge grilled shrimp wrapped in gruyere cheese and bacon. Steak on a Stone - they bring out a hot stone and you cook your steak to your liking on it. I attended an Argentine Tango Night a couple of times and each time had a superb time. Very beautiful and unique venue with both outdoor and indoor seating. Great atmosphere for dinner! I felt like I was being served dinner in my backyard. Gorgeous setting, with comfy couches at each table. Basically you sit outside, but it's enclosed with trees, bushes and plants. Each table setting was surrounded by shrubbery too. We were treated to great jazz music while we ate & there was a live band playing at the end of our meal. A garden-like setting tainted by teams of rodents scurrying about seeking sustenance. It gets worse. They pack in large quantities in small spaces. There is no respect for social distancing. Employees are hit and miss regarding face masks. Patrons are almost pure miss. Saw only a couple of those. It was as though there's no pandemic at all. Patrons are allowed to bring their own hard liquor. Cigarette and cigar smoke makes for a cloud of smoke circling the tables like noxious halos. The food is horrible. The portions are less than stingy and the food is just not good. Our group spent around $1,500 for seven people and left hungry. The basics of the culinary arts elude this place. Sadly, I was torn between staying and offending a dear friend who chose the place for his birthday dinner or salvaging my night and saving myself from very possible illness. On top of it all, the servers were incredibly rude. Our server, a cranky Russian lady, spoke no English and became angry with us for struggling in communicating with her. She as just nasty. That'll be the last time. One Star is too generous. They should be shut down by the Health Department before they keep spreading COVID and breeding rats. And now I guess I'll have to get tested. Came for a quick birthday dinner for my daughter this past Wed. Everything about The Stage was awesome. We were greeted by the hostess and was told we can sit anywhere we'd like. We sat outside, wasn't crowded at all, and lucky for us, it wasn't too cold. Table was nice and big and fit 7 of us comfortably. Everything from appetizers to our meal was excellent. (Appetizer: Calamari, Brussels sprouts; Entrees: short rib, filet mignon on a stone, rib eye, saffron risotto with scallops) We ordered 2 bottles of wine, and because it was my daughters birthday they allowed us to open another bottle which she received as a present, without charging us a corkage fee! We visited the restaurant during their soft opening. Our rating of the food alone would be 5 stars. Fresh. Tasty. We started with the Stage Palate which included breaded zucchini sticks, potato balls, mozzarella and tomato, cheese balls, and smoked salmon and cream cheese on crackers. I was very pleasantly surprised with how delicious each item was. It was served on a wooden board with a lovely tea light. We were having dinner so the tea light was a nice touch. My husband has the salmon en croute--salmon with spinach and ravioli. It was so delicious my description doesn't do it justice. My husband wanted to lick the plate, it was so good. I has the small BBQ platter-1 skewer of shrimp, 1 skewer of chicken and 1 skewer of steak-served with lavash, grilled veggies and a side of tomato "paste". Again, my description doesn't do it justice but definitely delicious and the meat was very tender and flavorful. Down side, no kids menu. A workaround for us is the pizza. The baby ate the WHOLE cheese pizza. It wasn't on the menu but the chef made it special and the baby devoured it. The crust was thin and soft. The sauce and cheese was very tasty and not greasy. We also tried the pear and Gorgonzola pizza. One word-excellent. For dessert, we had the pear chips with vanilla ice cream. I wish the chips were a little crunchier. I'm not sure if it was the ice cream that made them soft but still it was an enjoyable dessert. I took away a star because they did not have a changing table or kids menu. Very important for me as a mom of 3. Also, they were out of all of the desserts we originally ordered. We definitely will become regulars. It's walking distance from our place. The outdoor seating is perfect for the summer. We want to try everything on the menu and there are enough options that even though they don't have a kids menu, there is plenty for them to choose from. 7/26/2013 UPDATE - I came to lunch with co-workers and was extremely disappointed with my experience. If it wasn't for the fact that I really love the food, I would have given this place 2 stars for the service. To start, they didn't have enough menus for our group of 7 so they gave us a couple breakfast/lunch menus and a few dinner menus. I should note that there were only 5 other people eating at this time. The menus weren't printed on fancy paper, just plain 8 1/2 x 11 white paper in black and white. Would it be too hard to have menus copied at FedExKinkos so there would be enough? Next, our server was clearly undertrained. She didn't know the menu very well. Didn't know what kind of cheese they had and had to run back to the kitchen to ask questions. Our food took FOREVER to get to us and they messed up a ham/cheese/egg croissant sandwich. They forgot the ham and cheese. Thankfully, it was quickly corrected. The food itself was very delicious--cajun shrimp jambalaya (Peppers, Onions, Cajun Spices, Tiger Shrimp w/ Pinot Grigio & Linguine), chicken wraps (Grilled Chicken Breast Wrapped in Lavash w/ Mixed Veggies & Lettuce Served w/ Tzatziki Sauce), grilled Portobello w/ Roasted Peppers, Feta, Baby Greens & Balsamic Glaze, Butternut squash soup and a side of grilled veggies, and crepes with Nutella and strawberries. During our entire lunch, we never got our waters refilled. We were the ONLY people there at this point. Seriously. What were they doing?!! When we asked for the bill, we asked for some water. As is customary for co-workers who go to lunch, when the bill comes, it gets split and is paid using various methods. Apparently there is a $15 minimum for credit cards and each of us owes $14. Whatever. We were done with this place. Honestly, I want this place to succeed. The food is great and sitting outside with lots of greenery is appealing to me but these problems that need to be fixed. I will come back with my family (the food is that good). This is my new favorite restaurant in LA. I recently hosted a small bridesmaid luncheon for my now daughter-in-law and pre-ordered all the food. I called a few days ahead and spoke to Chef Simon, who was absolutely accommodating and helped me plan the meal. By the time everyone arrived, everything was completely ready and served promptly, thanks to our sever Patricia. For appetizers we had the delicious & beautifully plated Stage Palette (baked mushroom julienne, smoked salmon, picante shrimp cocktail, caprese, chinois cabbage wonton), the Mediterranean Platter, and an epic Beet salad. Next we had 2 salads: Mixed Baby Greens and Stage Salad, both crisp, fresh, delicious. For our main entrees we had one of my new favorite dishes in all of California: wood-oven roasted whole Branzino with lemony roasted Brussel sprouts and rice. For dessert we kept it light with a gorgeous fruit platter. It was such a wonderful experience that my son & daughter-in-law brought at least 2 more sets of relatives prior to the wedding, and my husband & I are bringing more friends this weekend. This garden setting restaurant is such a great addition to Burbank and rivals The Castaway for its beauty---but with much MUCH better food. The Stage had impeccable service for dinner tonight. The ambiance was relaxed in a garden setting with international jazz playing in the background, however, their website noted live jazz at 7pm. The musicians were setting up when I left (minutes ago). The sparkling water was international and not Pelligrino or Perrier. It was Georgian. That's it. Yeah, a Georgian sparkling water bottle. Strange but true. Well, the bbq platter was recommended. Beef tenderloin mixed with chicken, shrimp and scallops didn't sound so good to me. So I tried the steak on a stone. The steak was pretty plain, and didn't look or taste like filet mignon. I'm no steak expert, but I'm not stupid either.... that was not a normal cut of meat. What good can I say, "It was a cool cooking process." Anyhow, my steak order came with three (3) dipping sauces and roasted brussel sprouts. Their chimmichurri seemed cooked or it was made and sitting for a while. The gorganzola cream sauce was like a chunk of melted blue cheese with deep rich flavor. And last but not least was a red wine sauce that was way too sweet for me to handle. And of course, I ate my well-done steak with all of the green sauce. Thus ending my meal with some tiramisu. The food was different. I found out it was Armenian infused with a Californian flare. Not sure what that means, however, I ate what I ordered. To me it was all bland. Then, I finished eating and the sweetest scent started to permeate from my breathe. What a strong linger too. Maybe it's suppose to invite romance, but I was there alone. I had lunch plans with coworkers who suggested The Stage, so of course I yelped this unheard of restaurant and started reading through the reviews. At first I was very skeptical and worried about the food, then I read more about how the service was horrendous. Let's just say I was not the least bit excited to go. Luckily we were maybe the only table in the whole place for the first half of our meal which made it harder to have bad service. I ordered the chicken sandwich which was surprisingly quite tasty. It however did not come with a choice of fries or salad...apparently you just got salad...so we ordered a side of fries for the table. That had the perfect kick of garlic to it, although the fries were either too soggy and oily or too hard. My coworkers ordered a pizza and the ravioli which both looked great as well. Definitely think the place needs better marketing, coupled with better serivce (read your yelp reviews if you want to stay in business!) and it will be a hit.
