    Belgian Waffle with Blueberries.
    Kayden J.

Stables is a diner-like restaurant. The food is pretty good, I had a Belgian waffle, and my brother got French toast. I was pretty good, I just wished the waffle had more flavor, same thing goes for the French toast. They offer at every table a holder for tea packs. They had good choices including Apple cinnamon tea. The staff here is very nice, and get your order right. Parking here on the weekend in the morning is a pretty hard task, with almost every spot filled. The ambience inside is just like their slogan, "Country Cooking". They play old country music and gives off a diner feel with the bar area with seating in spinning chairs. Overall a very good experience, recommend coming here if you're in the area.

This is a very cute breakfast spot, tucked behind a huge parking lot! The waitresses were very nice and relaxed - our table was on the short side of the counter, and she took our order from over the counter wall divider. (Work smarter!) Even as they got close to closing, they didn't force us out (although we did get out the door before they closed). The best part was the food though - amazing hollandaise over corned beef and corn bread! I cannot recommend this enough, it was a smooth sauce and the flavors went well together.

Looking for a quick bite? Check Friendly to your wallet? Check Parking? Check Attentive staff? Check Good value, fast and quick. Entire restaurant looks full of locals, that is how you know you got a good dive restaurant. Food is fresh because of the turnover with so many customers. Many versions of breakfast classics. I came for breakfast, but they also have a lunch menu. My plate of three eggs, toast, coffee, hash, sausage and bacon was just under ten dollars. An excellent value.

The staff were genuinely welcoming, attentive without being overbearing, and clearly passionate about the food they serve. The menu highlights locally sourced ingredients and seasonal flavors, and you can taste the freshness in every bite. The dishes are thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. Whether you're ordering seafood, steak, or one of their creative vegetarian options, the flavors are balanced and satisfying. The cocktail list is equally impressive, with well-crafted drinks that complement the menu nicely. What really sets Homestead apart is its consistency and attention to detail -- from the quality of the ingredients to the comfortable ambiance and polished service. It's the kind of place that feels special without feeling pretentious. If you're in Northampton and looking for a restaurant that blends farm-to-table quality with a welcoming atmosphere, Homestead is absolutely worth a visit.

While our table was being set up outside, we enjoyed a drink at the bar--the 15-minute wait was absolutely worth it. The outdoor setting was beautiful, with greenery creating a relaxed summer vibe and live music playing under a small tent, adding to the atmosphere. Our server was equally delightful--friendly, attentive, and spot-on with recommendations. Now, the food: outstanding. We started with the beets and peas salad, which was bursting with flavor--our plates were practically licked clean. The house arugula salad was crisp, fresh, and perfectly balanced with a light, lemony vinaigrette. For mains, we shared the roasted half chicken and the bucatini. Both were phenomenal. I rarely order chicken at restaurants since it often feels too plain, but this one was perfection--crispy skin, juicy meat, and seasoning that carried through every bite. The bucatini, made with homemade pasta and loaded with crispy pancetta, was absolutely irresistible. We couldn't resist finishing with the "Little Mason Jar" dessert, which was indulgent and delicious. Everything--from the service to the food to the ambiance--was exceptional. We'll definitely be back on our next visit to the area

For appetizers we had oysters and the grilled octopus. Both of which were delicious, but the serving size on the appetizer was very small. Next was the arugula salad. Really nothing special here. Very basic salad and portion size again was small. Then our main courses. I got the monkfish. The flavor was good, but again, SUPER small portion size for a main dish. My husband got the duck and same story there. Great flavor, very small portion size. For dessert we got the cheesecake and the chocolate raspberry torte like bowl. I thought these were both pretty decent. In terms of the ambiance, my husband and I both noted they needed to dim the lights by about 50%. It was very bright in there. Otherwise, the building is beautiful and they've done a good job. Overall, food is good, I would just love to see larger portion sizes and faster service time. Im happy to see a new place in town, so this feedback is not meant to be harsh, just some suggestions on how to improve.

I'm a vegetarian, and although a couple dishes had the option to swap the seafood for tofu, veggie options were lacking. The sesame cauliflower was very good as an app! I had wanted to try the burnt end mushrooms but they were no longer on the menu. Service was incredibly slow. I know the waitress was hustling and it's not her fault, but I'm not sure why it took 45 minutes for our entrees to come out. She kept apologizing and saying it would be out soon but we were there for a full 90 minutes before we got our entrees which was weird. I ordered the harvest bowl with tofu and it was fine. It was a big portion size, great variety of veggies, and the pesto was good. But there wasn't enough pesto for the whole dish and without the pesto, nothing else was seasoned at all. It was so bland. The tofu was just big chunks of lightly seared plain tofu. I saw on the menu you can order fish and chips with tofu instead, but it seems silly to come to a place known for seafood and swap their fish for tofu. Especially after eating the harvest dish, I don't know if they would even know how to properly prepare the tofu. Maybe this is a good spot for drinks and oysters but that's about it!

At the end of the semester I usually have quite a few YCMP swipes left so my friends and I splurge by using them up on "extravagant" meals at UClub. (Better that than feeding UMass Dining free money!) The menu in my opinion is definitely on the pricier side if you were to spend your own non-prepaid money, but it is an upgrade from the regular Dining Hall mass-produced meals. Plus it's in a charming blue old-fashioned house, apparently the oldest in Amherst! Most if not all of the servers are UMass students so I didn't factor any expectations for the service. Although I was impressed that when one of my friends made a reservation for 12 of us , the staff actually found a table AND private room to accommodate all of us! APPETIZERS: Pan-seared Scallops, Stuffed mushrooms (Both were delicious! Who knew scallops with a bit of apple sauce and some chips on the side would taste so good.) ENTREES: Pan-seared Salmon, Herb-crusted Mahi (Both my SO and I were pleasantly surprised by how delicious and appropriately seasoned the fish were!) NY Steak (underwhelming, tough), Seafood Pasta (I don't really like their pasta since it reminds me of dining hall food, plus there weren't enough scallops or shrimp) DESSERTS: They have a daily menu so the server will let you know. Lemon cake, Cheese cake, Chocolate Cake, Strawberry Shortcake, etc... (I've tried a lot of different ones, and they are all good but nothing sticks out in my mind in particular. I'll start off by saying that the staff was very nice. I told them it was our first time there and she sat us down, told us to look over the menu and then order at the counter when we were ready. We ended up sharing the breakfast monster crepe and also the eat your greens salad. I can honestly tell you that the eat your greens salad was one of the best salads I've had. its so simple but so delicious and packed full of flavor. The lettuce leaves were extremely fresh, and the dressing was homemade. The crepe was also good, not the best I've had but it was good. Honestly the winer for me was that salad. We also ordered some hot drinks and I was surprised to find that they have organic coffee, really good. and their honey is legit, not the fake stuff. I know some of the other reviews were complaining about the pricing on things but its obviously better quality as well. You can taste it for sure. I will say that the one thing I didn't like was the fact that the tables/chairs are so close together. We were sandwiched in between two families with children and it was really hard to relax. We had to listen to one family complain about not having gotten their crepe yet even though everyone else had gotten their food. I felt that if I even inched either to my right or left I would hit the person sitting on the other end. They need to configure the seating better. Otherwise, it's a great place, I'd definitely come back and maybe sit at a counter or a booth if I'm lucky.
