First, the service is excellent. Above and beyond, truly. Friendly and attentive. Which is why they get one star. However, something must've been off this past Saturday. My friend and I ordered two different breakfasts. I was not able to finish my avocado toast, and it made me sick while still at the restaurant. When I came back to the table, my friend (he ordered traditional eggs, bacon, potatoes) was gone. I looked up to see him outside, also sick. Sorry to be gross but whatever we ate made us both vomit before we could even get to the car. My husband, 3 kids, and I LOVE coming here as often as we can. We drive 45 minutes each time to enjoy not only the food, but the service too. EVERYTIME we come the food is always delicious, fresh and consistent. My kids who are 5, 7 & 14 RAVE about your restaurant. We googled your restaurant, and I'm so glad we did! We're happy to support a small business that takes pride in its dishes and service. I've never had a bad meal and the girls are always smiling and working hard. Always accommodating even if there's 5 of us, they always manage to squeeze us in, and we never mind waiting for a spot to sits. I liked the home fries. That was the highlight of my breakfast. It was too dark in there. There was not enough ambient lighting. The waitstaff were friendly. My over-easy egg was cooked right. The bacon was nicely done. The corn muffin was fair. It was probably from a commercial supplier. The coffee was run-of-the-mill diner coffee. It was passable. That's it. One of the best breakfasts I have had in a long time! On a Saturday morning the wait was only about 20 minutes for two people. Our server was attentive and very kind. A truly heavenly biscuit and gravy dish & excellent breakfast potatoes (love that you can choose between shredded hashbrowns & seasoned homefries....both are delicious!). But by far my favorite is the corned beef hash. You can tell it's homemade & they have the recipe right. I never thought I liked corned beef hash until I had it at Silverspoon & fell in love. Savory, well seasoned, crispy potatoes with the bits of salty, tasty corned beef? Absolute perfection. Highly recommend the Crow's Nest (I usually opt for the half size) which comes with a soft poached egg atop the aforementioned hash, doused in hollandaise & coupled with a buttery, toasted English muffin. read more

Went here for breakfast for the first time and the food was very good. I had a veggie Benedict and loved it. My friend had the corned beef hash, which they are know for, and she enjoyed it. The only thing I didn't like is that I found it pretty pricey for a little hole in the wall. Their sides like bacon or sausage are $6 each which is way overpriced. After reading some of the Yelp reviews I was a little worried that my friend and I had chosen to have breakfast here. Other reviews describe it as a 'greasy spoon'. The Silver Spoon is very small and cozy. Yes, it is worn and dated, rugs need replacing etc. But it wasn't greasy at all and was very tidy which are things that are very important to me. The cook was visible at an open griddle. Our food was served quickly and hot. The home fries were chunky and nicely browned with no extra grease. I ordered the 1/2 size order of the homemade sausage egg benedict. The hollandaise sauce was very nicely done. The egg was perfectly cooked. I was not a big fan of the texture or seasoning of the homemade sausage. However, the English muffin under the egg was golden brown and delicious. You rarely see a place pay enough attention to the English muffin under eggs benedict. The waitress mentioned that breads are homemade. The stand out item here was the very good servers. Friendly service with genuine smiles. Servers circled with coffee and have mastered being attentive without being intrusive. If you are in the area, it's A-OK. read more

My review is based on the fact that they don't allow dogs in their seating area outdoor and on the sidewalk! They also have have a sign on each table that says "no pets". I mean why? Their reasoning being "it's restaurant". Well it's 2022, if you have unenclosed seating outdoors just allow well behaved dogs. 1,000s of restaurants allow dogs in their outdoor areas, so I will be sure to go to one of those and not this one. A stupid business decision and losing out on a lot of potential patrons. If you have a dog and want to eat outside, DON'T GO HERE! read more

Woke up with a family hankering for a new breakfast spot! We wanted to sit outdoors, of course with COVID but additionally it was a beautiful day. We called ahead to ask about seating for the group and arrived with a table already pre-set for us under the shade of their awning. Service was incredibly sweet and helpful. I, being a vegetarian, was thrilled with the menu options to BYO anything! The home fries were perfectly cooked. Each meal was very generously portioned! The Belgian waffle with banana and Nutella was was shared with the whole table and truly to die for. The hash was some of the best around. Everything was fresh, fast and perfectly cooked. I originally wasn't planning to go here, but after a bad experience and another diner about twenty minutes away we came here. Let me just say it was the best mistake to happen. I heard about this places eggs Benedict before so I've been dying to try it. Great is literally an understatement. Their food is PHENOMENAL. I ordered the homemade crows nest which is eggs Benedict with corn beef hash and your choice of homefries or hash browns (I got hash browns). Everything about this plate was so good. I'm assuming the cook their English muffins on the grill with butter, and it tastes so good that way. If you never had that before, it's a must you try it that way because wow it's life changing. A few years ago, I would have told you this was the worst breakfast place in Western MA. A friend coerced me to go back, and boy am I glad. Not only have they done a facelift on the inside, but the food is 1000x better! The benedits are great, their pancakes are delicious, there isn't a poorly made item on the menu now. Been coming here for years. Not as long as the place has been in business, but long times. It's always been good. Solid. The kids love it. But now we ALL love it even more. They are also under new management. The renovation has added a better seating flow. The only thing I really miss from the old place is all the old coffee cups that lined the upper part of the wainscotting. So, here's the thing. GET THE CINNAMON BUN. It' amazing. One of the best I've ever had. I usually get one for the table and we split it as an appetizer for our meals. The staff is wonderful, friendly. There's sometimes a wait. It's THAT good. I promise. I pretty much always get the same thing here, because I can't get it pretty much anywhere else. A veggie benedict. The kids have run the gamut for omelets, and pancakes, and fronch toasts and have enjoyed all of the above. (Occasionally there are leftovers.) The take away here is, yes, it's that good. This place is a simple diner - sandwiches, wraps, burgers. Clean and comfortable space. On the small side but easy to sit and talk and eat. The service was quick and easy. I had a bacon burger, which was cooked well and seasoned real nicely. Fries were great. Nothing boutique or fancy, just straightforward food made well. Priced fairly, too. Not the cheapest, though not at all costy, and the food is plenty good enough to justify the price point. I'll definitely be back when in Easthampton. read more

Our party of 7 and high chair had to sit at 2 tables but they sat us close by- our waItress was very sweet and it was all good. She got the toddler order out quickly and our food came soon after- it was the best egg white omelet, they can be dry but this was cooked to perfection with 2 slices of marble rye and a choice of hash browns or home fries. Drove over to this modestly cute breakfast place because it had eggs Benedict as well as biscuits and gravy. We were NOT disappointed! I tried the broccoli and bacon Benny and the flavors were spot on. The eggs were poached perfectly and every bite was pleasing to my palette. I chose the hash browns for my side and I feel like those are hard to mess up so those were also good- had a bit more flavor than others I've had. Boyfriend ordered a half homemade sausage Benedict that he said was "delicious" as well as his home fries. For a side he got the biscuits and gravy which I also had a few bites of and that was flavored spot on as well! I used to love this place. Unfortunately, ownership changed and renovated the restaurant, causing it to lose the "greasy diner" feel that I love in a breakfast restaurant. The prices went up and portions went down which sucks. And why did they cover the counter? My son and I loved sitting there and watching the cook. Not the best coffee but it had the octane I was looking for. I ordered the Irish Eggs Benedict which has house made corned beef hash instead of Canadian Bacon and that was the right call to make. It took almost a half hour for the food to arrive but when it did, I glanced down at this giant plate and thought, "Not in a million years could I eat all that." I tore into the perfectly poached eggs and the heavenly hash melted in my mouth. Before I knew it, I was staring at a clean plate wondering what gluttonous demon possessed my palate and forced me to consume that amount of food. I haven't been here in a while, but recently enough to see all the remodeling they've done. It looks amazing and the food is still spot on. I sure miss living right down the street from it (I live in Greenfield now). Edit: we went recently and although it looks beautiful and the service is still great, the food was kinda lacking. The best thing we got to eat was bacon, and it's hard to really mess that up. I was so disappointed that the homemade sausage wasn't good; it didn't have much taste. So I've deducted a star and I hope that I can change it back to 5 stars someday. read more

I had the Breakfast Special with sourdough toast and ham and Coffee. Every thing was perfect. The portions were generous. I am happy to see that the salt and pepper was on the side. I don't like people salting my food. The service was exceptional and she kept my coffee cup filled several times. This restaurant has always been one of my favorites, but now with the Covid-19 partitioning it is better, the acoustics are better to me.
