I recently bumped into an old flame from High School. A late night led to decreased reaction time on my part, so I was stuck being an unwilling participant in what amounted to a painful conversation. I learned that my ex is still living at home (shocking), still working at the same gas station (but making $3 more an hour) and is still attending the high school keggers. Though my ex hasn't changed a bit, my taste in men has changed markedly since 10th grade (THANK GOD!). Enough to make me gag in my mouth a bit to think that I let him give me a hickey at the movies while I ignored him and watched Pulp Fiction. Much like him, my old breakfast go to from my childhood is still in town, still somewhat greasy, and still leaves me a bit queasy. If your standards are low as mine were in high school, you might enjoy your breakfast here. But if you've ever left Easthampton, it will probably leave a lot to be desired. read more

OMG the Crow's Nest. Easily the greatest diner breakfast I've ever had and, of course, totally impossible to finish. The only reason I'm knocking my review down a star is because I've had a couple of sketchy experiences with the service. The wrong food coming out, missing items, mis-tallied checks, etc. Not good. Just one word, DELICIOUS!! Service was excellent, food was quick, staff was friendly, very clean environment, and the food was outstanding! The homemade corned beef hash was light and not over seasoned and served with two perfectly poached eggs on top with hollandaise. Home fries were nicely seasoned and cooked well (could have been hotter), pancakes were huge, grilled english muffins were perfectly crunchy, and the house made cinnamon buns were so amazing I got two to go. A little disappointed in our most recent trip to the Spoon. Stopped in because we had a little over an hour to kill before a doctor appointment. Good atmosphere. Full house although only a couple tables were eating. Seems like maybe we came in at the tail end of a rush. Waitress was nice. Took our order. After being there forty minutes and watching people get their food that came in after we ordered ours, I had to request our food to go. Just running out of time. I told the waitress our reason for getting it to go was it had been forty minutes since we sat down. She replied with a nasty tone that it only been twenty and she stomped off. Yes. Twenty since she got around to taking the order. Forty at the booth. Regardless, I opened the containers at the appointment ten minutes later. Soggy greasy unseasoned mess. One was a eggs Benedict that only had one egg yolk. The other was just a white. The omelette looked like grill scraping from cleaning the griddle at the end of a shift. Waste of $40. What happened? I am always in awe of cooks that can figure out how to make an egg where the white is completely set, but the yolk remains warm & deliciously runny. The eggs Benedict are amazing from the perfectly toasted English muffin to the aforementioned eggs to the tasty hollandaise. I ordered the eggs Benedict Florentine & the spinach was obviously fresh. Exactly what you want in your town: a down home greasy spoon right in the center of the village. I LOVE this place. Friendly neighborhood service and all the usual breakfast dishes done right. The home made corned beef hash is the best around, but make sure you specify home made or you'll get the canned goods instead. Oh and for a real classic joint like this I was really impressed to find Sriracha as the hot sauce offering. 4 stars because nothing on the menu is unique or adventurous (go to green bean in Northampton for that), and the joint looks like it's been there a million years (it has!). But that's what you want anyway, right? I hope it's still the same a million years from now! read more

We found this little place recently and while it doesn't look like much, the food is better than you'd expect from looking at the place. I had an omelette with fresh veggies which was delicious and my husband had the corned beef hash benedict which he said was the best he'd ever had - not greasy in the least! The Hollandaise sauce appeared to be packaged but service was attentive and the food arrived quickly. I will say that they appear to be in the midst of renovations, which is a good thing because the carpet looked rough and you can still see the grease-stained, ancient wallpaper on the un-renovated half (the bar/kitchen side). I'm sure we'll go back before long - though hopefully once renovations are finished. read more

Breakfast was quite tasty. Had to wait for my home fries but that was just fine by me... They were hot and fresh! I was disappointed that I couldn't get the biscuits and gravy (they put onion in the gravy... Not traditionally in southern biscuits and gravy) and I really like that the pancake was a little crispy on the endge! read more

The staff here is always super sweet, and keep the coffee flowing, but I'm here today about the blueberry pancakes. They are huge and soft and fluffy and just so full of blueberries that the underside of my pancake was practically one big splatter of blueberry. "Greasy spoon?" Greasy spoon. HAH. I lived in Easthampton for three years, and I loved this place. No, it's not a giant bright modern IHOP, complete with corporate menus. It's a small, cozy, dark breakfast diner, where the staff greets you by name, and punches out the next spot on your paper dining card (every dozen meals you get the 13th free!). Come for the hash and left mildly happy. Home made bread bumped it up a notch other than that regular diner food. We came at the end of the Saturday morning rush and enjoyed ourselves. She got blueberry pancakes and I got the veggie scramble, both with a side of hash. We really only needed one. I'm still looking for Hash as good as Watertown's Deluxe in Western, MA. Good place to go selling G-scout cookies outside when we went we'll check it out again I'm sure, but there are others in the area. read more

This location has been operating as a restaurant since 1905 except for one year. They have home-made bread for toast. Yummy. Everything was made perfectly. Great service. The food was cooked & served promptly. I am looking forward to going back sometime to try their lunches. read more

Great little breakfast spot! Food is tasty, and both portions and prices are reasonable. The menu has a good selection of familiar breakfast fare: omelets, eggs benedict, pancakes and French toast, etc. Nothing super adventurous or surprising here, just good, basic comfort food. The environment is clean and comfortable and the waitstaff is very friendly and responsive. If I were to give some constructive criticism, I would say that it would be nice to have some background music playing. This would add to the pleasant atmosphere and also provide a little more privacy to diners wishing to have a private conversation. All in all, highly recommended! read more

They've remodeled since last I was here! The new interior looks very slick! It seems like prices went up a little bit (?), but still a good deal for the amount and quality of food you get. We even had to wait a little for a table! This place was hoppin', and I'm glad- good food and service deserves good patronage. As we waited outside, they offered a container of free hot coffee. A pretty definitive Easthampton dining experience. Solid, no-nonsense diner food, open early in the morning, at really decent prices. Can get pretty busy, but nothing like the wait you'd get a few miles away in Northampton for the same quality food. They want to put some meat on your bones though, so don't be surprised if you find the combination plates far cheaper than the individual items, or that you're already slipping into a food coma halfway through a plate. read more

I'll start by saying this is a very busy diner and very small. They got us in quickly and the waiter was very nice. That said I was very disappointed with the meal. I ordered eggs over medium with the home fries and bacon. My eggs were so undercooked it was like drinking my breakfast and the home fries tasted like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for a few hours. No one came to ask if everything was okay until we were done and no one even bothered to refill our coffees. With all the wonderful reviews I thought for sure this would be a fantastic experience but was sad that we over paid for a mediocre meal. read more

It has an awning outside, but it's not in New York. It has a lit up pastry case, which makes it appear like a jewelry store. It frames it's expensive specials, so that they look like masterpieces. The small breakfast portions are served on narrow rectangular plates, so you feel intimidated like you're eating dinner at a Ralph Lauren restaurant. The new gloomy gray walls in the tiny salt box restaurant went along with my feeling when the hash browns were cold disguised with hot pepper, which made me realize why there was such quick service and it was no where near lunch time. Before the restaurant was decorated with history and the waitresses would take time to stop and talk with their customers as you could hear the cook and owner in the background as if it was your home. There were big portions served on round plates, which made you feel whole and full afterwards that didn't put a hole in your pocket. There would always be a line where you wait and read hand written specials as regulars would be reading the newspaper at the bar on old fashioned, rotating, colorful stools. Just seems like the restaurant is having a contest to see how much money they can make and the customers are zombies coming in as a pattern wishing what could have been but will never be. read more

I freakin love this place. This is tank up on bacon, eggs, sausage, pancakes, french toast all washed down with a few cups of fairly good american coffee dining at its best. There are a few extra things here as well that you might not find at typical breakfast restaurants if your feeling particularly decadent like the banana bread french toast or the corned beef brisket. Be warned though, it is a smaller sized place and there are plenty of people that enjoy the food here. It can become very packed, sometimes enough that there is a wait in the mornings. We stopped at this place on our way back to NYC from a weekend getaway and I'm so glad we did. I had the Crow's Nest - I think (I actually forgot exactly what it was called, but it was homemade corned beef hash, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce and potatoes). The eggs were cooked perfectly and their corned beef hash and hollandaise were magical. I kills me that I won't be able to order from this place whenever I want. I would say that I wish they would open a spot in NYC, but if they did, (and I say this as someone that loves NYC and its people) it would be overrun by ironic beards in flannel in a heartbeat and would be too crowded to ever enjoy. Plus, it would lose its natural Americana charm and appeal. My boyfriend got a lumberjack that he was pleased with and our friends got biscuits and gravy and the biscuits and gravy were amazing! The next time I'm in East Hampton, this place will be my first stop for sure. read more

Waking up nice and early and looking for a good place to dine in this town... Walking by in the beautiful downtown easthapton and come across the Silver Spoon... It has a cool diner look and the classic diner feel... Great service and a wonderful place to hang by yourself, or with friends and family! Homemade hash browns just begins the ride and the pancakes are light airy and virtually flawless! The eggs are great as well. My Pop says that the sausage, bacon, and soup are all fantastic! Be sure to check out the fresh maple syrup (ask for it) which is said to have come from the mayor's farm. The tables are fun and have a great view of their mug collection, but I feel the diner bar is a better bet! A good place to socialize and it is fun to watch the chefs in action! Oh! I almost forgot to mention the homemade muffins which are the bomb when heated but pretty awesome cold as well.... If they have it try the pie... I heard it was good but am not sure if they still serve it... I personally enjoy looking at the advertisements on the "place mats". They show a good attitude towards supporting the town ! It is a great day when you start the day dining at the Silver Spoon and I can not wait for my next visit!!! But you don't have to take my word for it, go check the place out yourself! When it comes to breakfast diners, Silver Spoon in Easthampton is a top choice! Their food is so delicious and the service is personal. My one complaint is plate size, it all looks nice on a single rectangular plate but it wouldn't hurt to have a small separate plate for one of the multiple items that can come with an order! They're also a little pricey, but I feel that price is justified with quality food! read more

I've lived in Easthampton for 4 years and am sad to say that I waited so long to give this place a shot! I met a friend this morning and was pleasantly surprised to see such a big, diverse menu! They have a ton of side options to add to your main meal, too. If you are a hash lover, get a side or a meal with the homemade hash; it is some of the best I have had. Went to Breakfast with my Father after a morning of Trout Fishing. I had not been in the Silver Spoon in several years. I grew up in Easthampton, but served in the Navy for 26yrs and retired in Delaware. We both ordered the 3 egg breakfast, I choose the hashbrown and Dad picked the homefries, with sausage. I opted for the Wheat and he the seedless Rye, both my Dad tells me where baked fresh on site! The wheat was lacking "body", just too light, almost like biting into cotton candy texture. I tasted Dad's Rye and it was outstanding. Hashbrown was thin and lost in flavor, Dad's homefries were dark and slightly over cooked (I like them that way.). We didn't comment about them, but the Waitress must have thought they were not up to standards so she brought us a small heaping plate of crispy fresh homefries to share "on the house"! AWESOME...
