Delicious food, service and ambiance! A bit pricey for breakfast but worth it! Plenty to choose from menu!

I have driven by this place a thousand times , 1st time stoping , and I will be back . Being a Sunday I was afraid I'd have to wait a long time . Lucky I got right in . Typical old diner vibe . Wooden benches with tables , and a nice counter . I started with coffee , and I LOVED that they had nice cold creamer in a mason jar , not those little creamer . Nice touch ! I got the St Patrick's Day special bangers and mashed . Came with 2 eggs , and toast . Everything was great . My only complaint was the mashed weren't that hot . Maybe it sat a little before it was served ? Besides that , YUM ! My Daughter got the French toast with cream cheese and fresh blueberry's on top , she loved it . Good job ! read more

Forgot this used to be called Palmer Restaurant before Angels took it over. Now it is back to Palmer Restaurant and I still feel the same. Place doesn't wow me enough to want to come back every time I am in town for a haircut but good enough to want to mix it in. I did enjoy my burger, blueberries added something to it which made me think of my childhood. read more

I really miss when this was Angel's Diner. I used to get the most consistently amazing French toasts. This is what I got today - burned and inedible. wow! Just devoured the lemon poppyseed muffin... a 1/2 pound wonder that was light and fluffy even though it was griddled. topped with just enough icing to be sweet and tart. Lunch was a Palmer classic. it was also dinner. Thia generous burger is topped with fresh lettuce and tomato and crispy thick bacon and fried pickles to give it flavor. No condiments necessary as the flavor packs a punch from the fresh ingredients. the chicken Caesar wrap was also a home run with plenty of chicken and just enough croutons and dressing. The garlic Parm fries or house made chips are a great touch to set this little breakfast/lunch place apart from any typical place. The friendly service makes you feel like a regular even if you are from out of town! We will be back next time we visit Palmer. read more

If I lived in Palmer I would be a regular here. I just stopped in on my way from eastern Mass to upstate NY for late breakfast. Food good but what really makes it are the people. The staff behind the counter and the cook too were all so efficient and attentive to each others customers. From my vantage place at the end of the counter I even had a glimpse of the dishwasher. She had a very pleasant almost zen like way about her. Whoever is managing this place is doing a great job. I don't get out that way often but when I do next I will surely stop in. read more

Angel's has closed. The new restaurant is called The Palmer Restaurant. The breakfasts are great and it seems like Angel's. I had pancakes with two over easy eggs on top. It was delicious. The waitresses were so cordial and accommodating and were some of the prior help at Angels. All in all it was like old home week. I met the new owners and they were very charming. Some changes to the decor as the new owners begin to add their own touches. The chef is the chef from Angels. It was great having the temporary void in places to go for lunch and breakfast. This place is awesome! Super adorable from the outside with a life size Betty Boop to greet you at the entrance. Once inside, the servers are friendly and attentive. We were lucky to arrive at a time when we could get a table easily, I can imagine this is a popular place on weekend mornings! Once seated, there was everything we needed on the wall to our right; silverware, condiments and card games! I had a good feeling about the food here, even before we ordered. It took me awhile, but I went with a western omelette (pumpernickel toast), something I often order when I am super hungry and it was excellent, with big chunks of ham, red and green peppers, onions and (my choice) American cheese. The waitstaff were nice. I ordered the corned beef hash. It had no potatoes in it and it was sweet! Who puts sugar in corned beef?!! Their bacon was good. Their homefries were deep fried which I don't like. Its like having french fries for breakfast. My biggest complaint ( and the reason for 3 stars), was the sugared corned beef...yuck!! read more

We were traveling on the Mass Pike and got hungry near the Palmer exit. Lucky us because we discovered Angel's and had an excellent lunch. I got the lunchbox special, served in a box and comes with a cookie. The turkey sandwich was so thick I made a mess attempting to eat it and only got through half. So, the box is a great idea; I just folded it shut and took leftovers to go. My husband got a burger and said it was excellent. The place was very busy and we were lucky to get last table for 2 because folks after us had to wait a bit. Service was fine, given how busy they were. Atmosphere is small but cute with utensils in jars attached to the wall at each table. This will now be our regular stop on the way home from Maine to the Catskills. It is worth the approximate one mile from the exit. read more

I have a sister who lives in Palmer and we often look for places to eat when we're visiting. This has been our favorite breakfast spot, by far. The staff was pleasant. The food was good. But mostly we were WOWed by the card games at the tables. We played UNO while we waited for the food to arrive. The place is a little small and a little warm. But overall we were very happy. The only drawback to this restaurant is that it is so good and popular, it is cramped during traditional popular hours. If you are gluten free, get the pancakes! When you get there, immediately tell the host you want the pancakes and they will start preparing the batter. read more

Old timey diner that retains much of that vibe blended with some modern touches. It's not a large space, thus somewhat intimate. Very creative menu with interesting twists on traditional dishes, though you can get the basics pretty straight up. Their breads are amazing. Staff is fun and engaging and provides a top quality level of service. Do be aware it's not as low cost as say a chain type place but hey, you get what you pay for. Totally worth it. read more

The thing about a star system is that it can be misleading. There are many things that make a restaurant "work", or not, and you can't effectively squeeze them all in to 1-5 stars. So right off the bat, I'll use my stars for the food.. fully meets expectations for a breakfast and lunch place. I'm not looking for creativity in such places... just execution... repeatability. Their food works. They have been one of two of our current breakfast/lunch places.. the word current indicating there have been many predecessors. The usual reason for abandoning most of those was just shooting themselves in the head... things super easy to get right but skipped. Today, we got there a full 30 min before closing. There were a couple of open tables in the smaller room and yet the very young server estimated nothing in the usual room will open up. I looked at the open tables where I stood and was told something like "And I have to close this room up", which put me at not believing the first thing either. Convenience.. and not that of the customer who went there in good faith. The data fits the theory. But forget the first thing... there were two tables at which she could have seated us. The old smoke and mirrors closing time is not a new thing. At some point, you just encounter this thing you can score... COULD serve you... 30 min left on the clock... they DO NOT... and you just stick that in the customer-hostile column. No visible effort to avoid the look they want to get out early and forego the opportunity to exploit a full restaurant right up to their actual closing time.. Convenience at the customers' inconvenience. Doesn't work for me. read more

Just had my second breakfast here at angel's. I came here from Boston because I'm visiting my brother but I would make a special trip just to go to angel's for breakfast. The menu is completely unique and the food is utterly fantastic. The staff and owner are delightful and engaging. I just can't say enough about the quality of this restaurant. Superb!!! read more

I had been hearing good things for a while. Then Covid happened. As soon as I knew Angel's was open, I made it a priority to stop in. I'm endlessly grateful that I did. The food is amazing, the service is stellar. Get there early for a table as it is very tiny. I was happy that the weather was good enough to sit outside. The specials are just so creative.
