Small diner with retro vibes. We were a little bit weary in the beginning it being our first time, but the staff was super friendly towards us. When you get to your table, there's a local newspaper there detailing all the goings on at Ludlow which I thought was a nice touch. They have daily specials written on a whiteboard and I ended up going with the Blueberry loaf French toast. It tasted amazing. Ordered coffee which was that New England blend that everyone here seems to love which.. is understandable but I'm personally not a big fan of but, ok, I drank it anyway. I was most surprised by how much mom loved her veggie omelette breakfast. She's the one in our family whose very much a picky eater and she devoured hers. The waitress had brought over a hot sauce that she says the owner makes himself and I have to admit it was pretty good!. Another person in our party had the breakfast sandwich special that comes with home fries for 6.99 and in this economy, that's a deal, huge portions (see pic) During my time here I also heard that their rye bread comes from the local Portuguese bakery. I don't know that they could've done anything else to make our time there better. It really was a 5 star experience for us. Hope it will be that way for you as well. read more

We came this way a few days ago to go to Church Fair and went by this place and I was like wow it looks really cute. It had keno and lottery and it was a small neighborhood like when we came back out of the fair we end up driving right by in a second time so I say if we ever ever get here again, I wanna try that place so he said OK so if we went well, we ended up winning raffle prizes at the fair so we came back here to try lunch or breakfast today, I ended up having the croissant sandwich with ham off the bone and home fries and he had a fresh blueberry muffin Not homemade, but it was good. He said which goes over well the coffee was out of this world which he's hard to please when it comes to coffee it's not very big however it does have three booths of six or more. It has three or four tables of two it has 5 tables of four and a dozen counter stools. You can see the chef cooking everything right where you sitting your fresh TV the keno machines like I said, but everything looked delicious. Had a hard time make up my mind however . I do like a good breakfast sandwich. I serve this morning with Kate. She's very smiley upbeat person explain the sandwiches in a different things that they had to offer. They have a homemade French toast. That comes either stuff with a nice homemade blueberry filling or it comes with a apples. And that this morning is 999. I think it was very reasonably priced except for the fact of the muffins were not cooked here they were commercial. Everything was fantastic and wonderful. Came out right away hot fresh and ready to go and you know me. I am very picky when it comes to the heat of my food. There was also a manager was here and she was very helpful to the server by filling in by helping w keno when the lottery and stuff and it was very smooth, ride all the way through this glad I stopped here for breakfast. We stopped in for the first time today with no expectations and were happily surprised. My wife got a bacon and fried egg sandwich on French toast and I got two eggs over easy with a pancake and rye toast. We both got home fries and shared a plate of kielbasa hash, because neither of us had it before. Both of us thought the hash was OK but could have been better if all the ingredients bonded a little more for that true hash consistency. Everything else was pretty good except the bacon on my wife's sandwich wasn't crispy and that made it less enjoyable for her. Cute, old timey place with nostalgia (lots of James Dean tribute posters) and every table had a copy of the local newspaper, which is a nice touch. Very good, friendly service (the ladies are awesome!) and reasonably priced menu. We'll definitely be back to try more! read more

I happened upon this place because I randomly got off the Mass. turnpike when I was ready for lunch. I was waited on quickly, the coffee was hot, they got my order right (pastrami on rye), and they were apologetic when they didn't have something I wanted. The prices are fair, and the bathroom was clean. It's a small diner; don't expect lavish or extravagant, and you'll be pleased. read more

This may be one of my favorite reviews to write. I have been a "customer" of this fine establishment since before I can remember. This lovely little corner joint has been my grandfather's go to breakfast joint for decades. Since I was wee, we would come here after his tennis matches for breakfast. I have been here probably a hundred times or more. Mostly before 2nd grade since I migrated South. Tony and Gina have been running this spot for as long as I can remember. The service they and their staff provide is second to none. Always attentive, orders are always perfect. Even during busy times, it's a great time. I've always ordered strictly breakfast items. Usually your normal eggs and bacon meal type of thing. This last time I visited, I ordered an Iraqi Omelette. I'm not entirely sure what the difference is from other omelettes, but it was delicious. I'm not sure l will have a chance to visit again, as our family has now moved entirely out of Ludlow to different places, but I will always have a special place in my stomach for you guys. Ever feel like you are eating with friends at a restaurant? That's how this place feels. It's clean and friendly. The place is decorated with James Dean and 50's memorabilia. It's really cute. My breakfast was perfect. I got the Polish special. My eggs done over medium were spot on, the home fries are home made like they should be. Everything was great and people are friendly. I was visiting my daughter who lives in town. This was my first time in Massachusetts. I like looking for a local restaurant when visiting a new area where I am staying. Plus I believe in supporting local businesses. I saw that John's Corner was about a five-minute walk or less from my daughter's home, so I walked on over for breakfast. When I walked in, I found the business to be clean and inviting, having a local vibe atmosphere. The staff was extremely friendly and made sure I was aware of the specials that were not on the menu. I did not have any of the specials, but ordered their "Junk Omelet" off the menu. I found the omelet to be very delicious and fulfilling and the pricing to be fair. I enjoyed my first visit there, that I did go back one more time during my visit to town. When I find myself in the area again, I will definitely be going back to John's Corner, for a good meal. read more

Found this place while driving through to NY- looking for a quick stop for breakfast. Staff were friendly, attentive and inviting. Unfortunately, the food was barely edible. My son ordered a chocolate chip waffle and got a burned AND cold waffle with hard chocolate chips on top. My breakfast sandwich was tasteless and the coffee cups were tiny though they came often to refill. To their credit, we did not complain or let them know as we were in a hurry. Not sure I would stop there again, but here's to hoping it was just an off day for them. read more

DISGUSTING!!! Unsanitary little hole in the wall -don't waste your time. If you manage to look past the owners/staffs hands all over everything you'll wait a lifetime to eat because apparently locals are the only ones who get served here. Then they won't read the waitresses notes and will make sure to get each part of your order wrong. I usually like little dive places but you're better off hitting one of the local chains for a meal, at least it's clean and your way!!! read more

I've ate there 2 times once for breakfast and it was ok and the last time for lunch. Had a burger and it was a hockey puck and the home frys.. yes I said home frys for lunch and they had not much flavor and were very soggy!! The flavors were off as well like he makes them at the begining of the week and just keeps reheating them.. So I'm visiting my family in Ludlow and we are all hungover and starving. Of course Friendly's has a huge wait...and I mean..Friendly's..not good. So my brother suggests this place. I never thought I would really enjoy it! There were plenty of tables, our server was really sweet, and the portions were huge! Walked in and the waitress said nothing to us, sat there for about 5 mins (mind you there is no one in there) the cook finally had to come over us give us our silverware, menus and bring us water while she stood there with a puss on her face. I hung up, checked my receipt, and called back to let him know there were things missing that I paid for. Love this diner, my boyfriend stop by for breakfast at least once a week if not more. It's hard to come by a family run diner in these parts, but they have it. Decor is a little outdated but we go there to eat not to stare at the walls. Makes a great breakfast for the price we always leave with a full stomach. John and his family are such nice people. I noticed that some reviews complain about slow service, I wouldn't call waiting a couple minutes slow service. Most of the time it is just John and his wife and maybe one other employee, they do it all. Wonderful local business and we will continue to support it.. This is our only breakfast destination... I've been avoiding this place for years because i always found the table's to be sticky and flies everywhere but against my better judgement i decided to take my son there for fathers day being that it is right down the street from our place and had a little bit of a time crunch having to be at work in an hour. Upon our arrival we sat at the only available table in the corner that sat 2. I then watched the other tables clear out clean and new customers being sat. All those table that sat after me then started getting served food as we waited. I ended up having to leave without haven eaten. FOOD NEVER CAME...
