My family came for Easter lunch with reservations for 3, but we didn't get seated until around 3:50. It was extremely busy and I didn't mind the wait except that the food was dissatisfying. They did not have some of the menu items that they had advertised. Most of the food was cold and the chicken was raw. The waitress was very sweet but the restaurant was extremely busy. I don't understand why advertise for an event when the facility isn't suited for a busy holiday. It costed $39 per person when the food was at most mid quality. The wait, the ambienice, and the food was absolutely not worth the money. My family will not be coming again and I do not advise that other families come for the holiday also. read more

Villa always has fantastic specials, the best seafood in the area (by far) and a great staff that you can tell CARES about your experience. This is a local go-to for sure. Recently my wife and I got a couple of beautiful salads and the biggest roasted brussel sprouts I've ever seen. All top notch. read more

I emailed on 5/17/23 @ 3:49pm asking about a catered event at this restaurant for approximately 50-75 people to tony@VillaRoseRestaurant.com (from the contact us link on the website) and not ONE response from anyone. And now its August 23, 2023 and I have chosen to go elsewhere. This restaurant came highly recommended from a reputable, local florist (who happens to be my cousin) but if customer service is more than lacking, I am not interested and will take my business elsewhere. In my dining experience at Villa Rose I discovered when I cut the tongue off of my timberland boot and ate it, it was more tender and had more flavor then the braised short rib I attempted to eat. I only say attempted due to the simple fact that the meat tasted as if it was rancid and as a Johnson & Wales graduate I know what Rancid meat looks like. Rancid meat has a flashy matalicy sheath on it, and that's exactly what a saw in my experience here. Let alone our sever was extremely rude. She was very short and sneary, was not attentive to our needs throughout the experience at all, so I could not alert her that my meat was rancid, this experience was absolutely absurd and I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

My boyfriend took me to Villa Rose for a post-Valentine's day dinner. From the outside, it looks like a bar, but we were pleasantly surprised to see that inside there was a small, intimate dining room that was well-decorated. It may be bigger, but there was a plastic separator that looked out of place and a loud party going on on the other side, so the noise coming through it was much louder at times than I would have liked and detracted from the atmosphere quite a bit. The service was absolutely lovely. We had a young woman who was extremely friendly and prompt as our waitress, and when we asked for a wine recommendation, she gave one without hesitating- and it was exactly to our taste. The wine list here is both thorough and extremely reasonable in price- there were no date-night budget busters on it. It was great to see all of the wines on the list were within our prices range. The appetizers were fantastic. My boyfriend got French Onion Soup, which I tried- it was a fantastic broth base, and really well done. I asked for an alteration on a clams dish that they had (just steamed clams with drawn butter), and they came in a lovely cast-iron pot and were well treated; only a couple had some light sand in them, and the clams were meaty, delicious, and tender. Dinner was a little more of a dissapointment. I ordered filet, which was a little fattier of a cut than I usually like to see in a filet. It also seemed to lack salt, and while I was able to compensate with table salt, it just is always a little dissapointing to see such a nice cut of meat come out underseasoned. However, it was cooked to a medium-rare perfection. My boyfriend had the rack of lamb, which he enjoyed. I had a bite, and thought it was well prepared but again, underseasoned. I did see some older customers in the room, so perhaps the lack of salt is to keep older customers happy and healthy? Either way, the entrees weren't spectacular, but were far from terrible. The service, wine list, and appetizers will certainly mean that we'll go back though, and we'll give the entrees another try and see if they fare any better the next time around, and update the review. If you are in the area, I'd say this is a place worth checking out and judging for yourself. read more

I was hopeful to try this restaurant for an early Father's Day dinner. The photos of the food on yelp made the food look delicious and the presentation pristine. I would rate the food 3/10 and the atmosphere 0/10. It was so loud in the dining room that we could not hear one another speak. When I asked the hostess if we could be seated elsewhere, she peeked her head into the bar and said "2 people were just seated and 1 just got there food. What do you want to do?" Without offering how long it would take for another seat or any other accomodations. On top of it all, the dining room looks like a nursing home dining room. Just overall very unpleasant experience. Will not be returning unless the service and atmosphere change. Such a bummer! read more

I've been to several catered events at Villa Rose over the past few years. The food is always delicious, the wait staff is professional and the venue is clean. My family recently held a funeral luncheon catered by Villa Rose at Ludlow Country Club and everyone raved how delicious everything was. We booked with less than 3 days notice and they even accommodated our gluten free guests. I highly recommend them for functions. read more

Had the the lamb chops, AWESOME!!! All in all, great selection , service, and quality. The owner Tony is very accomodating. They have wine dinners quarterly that include a 5 course dinner with wine pairings for each. The food & wine is out of this world. All for $60 and that included tip! I ate here for the first time today. The staff were friendly and the food was great. I highly recommend the butternut squash ravioli. The atmosphere was okay. The dining room is small and separate from the bar. The music was good and not overpowering except for when the music cut out. Randomly while we were eating the music cut out and an add played for some type of pepto bismo like medication. The add included the words "upset stomach" and "diarrhea". This is something that was humorous so did not bother me but I see where it could bother someone else at the dinner table. The restaurant should play music without ads. Overall I'd say give it a try. read more

Went to the Frostbite event tonight. The drinks were great. And I had the best meal I've eaten in a restaurant in a long time. The seafood was the freshest I've had aside from being at the beach. The seafood casserole was cooked to perfection. Not overdone not drenched in butter but absolutely delicious. The mashed potatoes were perfect and flavorful. The Brussels sprouts we cooked perfectly also. Honestly the best meal Out I've had in a long time. The food was top notch. The new porch is beautiful. Now if they could just update the bar and dining room this place would be perfect. I prefer a bar to a dining room and the bar is very very outdated.If they invest in updating the bar and dimming the lights in the restaurant so it doesn't feel like a cafeteria I think this would be my go to place I the area. read more

I am giving this place four stars because the food is AMAZING, but the service was not. The clams Casino here is hands down one of the best appetizers I have ever had! My father and I ordered the swordfish, which had great flavor but could have been cooked a bit more. My Mum ordered scallops, she approved but they were supposed to be grilled not baked. My brother ordered the lobster mac n' cheese, but got another pasta dish instead. All in all, I recommend, but I hope if I am here again, the service is better. read more

Went with my mother and daughter. There was a bar that was full and a dining section that looked like it might be new. We sat, it was freezing, but clean and nice. I was excited to see the specials had tuna for $18. So when the waitress came, I asked her about it. This was her reply: it's like, triangle fish, and it's kinda cooked, i don't like fish but it comes with 2 sides. I didn't get that. Then I made the mistake to ask her about the southern fried steak tips appetizer. Literally this is what she said: its like, the leftovers from when they cut steaks. They throw it in some sauce. Yeah, didn't get that either. I stopped asking her opinion. Food was fine, but they need to train their staff if they want to pull off the white linen dining it looks like they were going for. At least we had a good laugh at the waitress's "sales" technique, and horribly described things in that style the rest of the day for fun. read more

What a wonderful evening we had! We had never been to VIlla Rose. I made a reservation for four for 7:00. We arrived at 6:30 thinking we'd have a cocktail at the bar before dinner. The bar was packed when we arrived and we were asked if we'd like to be seated. We were shown a table in the middle of the room but then the host suggested he would seat us in the corner because a big party was coming in and he thought we'd like a quieter table. Our server was Sherri and honestly she made the evening. We explained we were in no rush and we were looking for a leisurely dinner. She told us to sit back and relax and that is exactly what we did. She was excellent as she timed our courses. One of our party ordered the filet "medium rare" but when Sherri explained how "medium rare" was cooked, our guest chose "medium." When the filet was served it was exactly how our dinner companion wanted it. In addition to the filet we also ordered osso bucco and braised short ribs. The osso bucco was large moist and delicious. The short ribs were a bit dry and the roasted vegetables a bit overdone but they were still tasty. My husband is a carrot cake fanatic and it was out of this world! We were told it was home made. That in itself is worth the trip! We will definitely be back. And we will request Sherri! read more

We came here for dinner recently. It was *alright* I guess. FOOD: I had the risotto balls as an app (they were huge by the way, and in desperate need of some salt or something. I make it myself so I kinda know) and the lobster ravioli as my meal. 5 sad looking ravioli in an actually good vodka sauce. The ravioli itself left much to be desired. It definitely couldn't have been fresh prepared on site. I did eat it all but because I was hungry. Also there was shell or bone in two of my raviolis AMBIANCE: The place itself is actually pretty nice considering the outside looks pretty shack-like. The dining room is pretty small, but nice and the bathrooms look as though they've recently been updated or something. SERVICE: Our waitress was nice enough, but the food took a LONG time to come out. And when the appetizers came out my husbands had been forgotten. It took over an hour for the actual meals to come out, and by this time we were all actually pretty tired of the place and wanted to leave. In short, it was definitely below average in regards to food, and we won't be back. But at least now we know I guess. read more
