We met some friends yesterday for lunch. Our server Cassandra was attentive and nice. We were a party of 8. We ordered the poutine and garlic parm mozzarella sticks, nachos, buffalo chicken dip and street corn dip as appetizers! All were delicious! Our friends raved about the street corn dip! As DD I had one drink on arrival, the Kentucky Bourbon Bird and if I wasn't driving I would have surly had a couple more it was so refreshing and delicious! On a stunningly gorgeous, cloudless day, we took a ride to anywhereville and ended up in Westfield Mass. Both Yelp and Google reviewed The Maple Leaf Pub favorably, so that clinched our decision. A side note that there is LOADS of free parking in numerous muni lots (up to 3 hrs). Sez a lot about the welcoming vibe of Westfield. We sat at the bar, and were served (and entertained) by Bridget. When I asked how her day was going, she said "peachy". I replied "not ducky?", to which she replied, "that's later, and much later it's #&*#@!!". On to the food and libations. I ordered fish & chips, with Smuttynose Old Brown Dog Ale (never had it b4. It was really good, plus fewer calories than Bissell Brothers The Substance, which is helpful as I get prepared for bikini season). She, who eats like a rabbit, had a lot of green stuff (salad?), and a white wine. Couple things about my food. Their fish comes daily - thus never sees the inside of a freezer. The fries are handcuffed (autocorrected from hand cut). Their slaw and tartar are made on-site. Everything was very fresh, even Bridget, who was attentive, affable, capable, able. My husband and I visited the Maple Leaf Pub for the very first time. The food was excellent! I had the fish sandwich with tots and my husband had the fish and chips. The fries were amazing! The tots were crisp. The fish was crispy and delicious, not soggy or greasy. They had a variety of specialty drinks and local beers on tap. We sat at the bar. This is our go to place in town. The food is great and consistent. The staff is very friendly, and efficient. They try and remember all the regulars. The atmosphere is very relaxed and comfortable. A bit noisy when full, but better than most restaurants of this size and configuration. We often bring family and friends here for a great meal or a celebration. read more

Love the food here! I highly recommend their quesadillas or flatbreads and the buffalo chicken dip. Large patio with tons of seating and fans when the breeze is absent. Trivia Wednesdays with prizes for first and second and live entertainment on Thursdays and Saturdays. Westfield can be tough when it comes to parking but the Maple Leaf is directly across from a huge free parking lot. Definitely a go to for my family of 5. read more

Heard the leaf was under new ownership and turned up. As a 28 year old female with a slowly dying metabolism, previously I avoided this place like the plague. It wasn't anything special anyway. NOW: holy f**ing crap. One of my go-to spots. The food is actually excellent. We've tried a few sandwiches, some apps and their salads. I mean I don't even think I could make a salad at home cheaper than what they make and all the ingredients are fresh and tasty, the salads are HUGE!!!! The drinks are amazing. The beer selection is so great. I mean Bissell Brothers? And another good Maine beer I can't remember...Definitive? ALSO!!! They have flights. Mixed drinks? Decent pours and reasonable prices. Staff are excellent. Everyone is so polite and attentive and the service is fast, all with a smile on their face. The energy is different. I no longer feel like I'm out of place in a college bar. There are all ages of people here and having a good time. If you've been here before and didn't like it, do NOT drive by. I'd post photos if I actually took them, but I was too busy enjoying myself. Visited Maple Leaf on a Sunday evening with husband and two teenage kids. Restaurant/bar was clean and inviting. Waitstaff very friendly and welcoming. We got the fried pickles and nachos to start. Pickles were amazing! Nachos very good and a huge portion for the money. Also had a beer cheese soup which was outstanding! For entrees we got a veggie wrap, hamburger, and a Philly cheesesteak flatbread. All were great! I especially enjoyed the burger and fries. Will definitely visit again soon. Eat, drink, and be merry (over 40!) is now a thing at the Maple Leaf. If you remember this place as a college hang out ll, long gone are the billiard tables and the "bar-only" atmosphere. The Mapleleaf now has a respectable menu of good food, which pairs nicely with the generous list of drinks and beer that they have. there still are plenty of places to sit at the bar, but seating elsewhere in the restaurant also feels comfortable. It is especially fun as a person over 40 to go and listen to bands and to be able to get up and move to the music without feeling like you are in the wrong place at the wrong time. I know, pictures, or it didn't happen, right? but it does, all of the time. This is one of the few places in town that still has live music and a dance floor that is actively used by the "parents" generation. So friends. eat, drink, and be merry. The long high -top tables filled with stools, are ready for you and your friends! A word of advice, is that the servers don't always make frequent loops to your table, so don't be afraid to speak up if you need something. I have eaten at this restaurant many times. The food is okay, middle of the road and prices. I recently went back to this restaurant, we received the worst service I have ever had anywhere. It wasn't that crowded. Two waitresses went out of there way to avoid taking our order. We were told we had to get drinks outside if we were sitting outside. Outside being on a concrete pad with a tent overhead. So we went outside waited while two waitresses, servers all four tables around us. They never took our order. After a while we got up and left. The waitress that ignored us and clearly didn't serve us said "bye now". This was my husband myself and my son. So incredibly rude. I will not be coming back for a long time. read more

I just paid $17 for a pulled pork sandwich and a side of onion rings. The food was way too hot when it was served, the pork was tough, and the rings were doughy. On top of that, although the sandwich was listed at $14 on a specials board, the waitress offered sides as if they were part of the meal. When I questioned the $17 price, she gave a big long explanation about why the onion rings were $3 and not part of the meal, but neither apologized for the confusion or offered a refund for the side. I'm in Westfield all the time, but will never return here. Awful. read more

My friend and I went there this Saturday (31 July) for lunch a little after noon. We were greeted warmly and were offered to sit wherever we liked. We sat outside because the weather was beautiful. I hate to give bad reviews but our food and dining experience was just awful. Server was absent most of the time and we had to chance them down for catsup, silverware and drink refills. Their attitude was of servers who try to be kind just to get through the service but just can't pull it off and in the end, they get a poor tip and the restaurant gets a bad review. The food was mediocre at best and the best thing was the easiest thing to make- fries and fried pickles. The Shepard Pie was completely dry and seasonless, the fried fish was double battered and way too greasy and crunchy to eat without tear8mg it apart to eat the inside, and the Rueben was just average. The best thing about our order was the side of the portions, but a full plate of tasteless food is all too forgotten. What a shame, this place was highly recommended to me by a family member but unless I hear that they have improved their service and cooking skills, I won't return or recommend this place. Here with the missus and daughter to try out their cheeseburg chowder and chicken garlic flatbread along with some deep fried pickles. Everything was okay. The service was good and we were tended to right away and the food came out rather quickly. Our waitresses was nice and cordial and the prices were reasonable. Went there for food and a beer. A taller girl playing with her phone was behind the bar. It was not busy for the amount of staff. I ordered a beer and asked for a menu. My friend received his beer and already had order in. I kept politely trying to get her attention for my beer and to order. Was like 5 feet from taps on stool. I told my friend and walked to the Tavern since the parking was about even. Extremely busy and had a beer and food in 5 minutes. Ended up staying there for more cocktails. We have been to The Maple Leaf Pub twice so far, and we really enjoy the clean, inviting space (including clean restrooms), the friendly service, the yummy pub-style food and the excellent prices. It is a treat to be able to order a salad for a very reasonable price (and they do not skimp on ingredients). The balsamic chicken wrap was really tasty and came with a very generous serving of sweet potato fries.....enough food for leftovers too :). We will return!. read more
