Amazing! Fantastic! Unbelievable!Highly recommended!!!! This is the second time we have held a function at Shortstop Bar & Grill. My husband's retirement party was held there years ago. Last Saturday, we had a baby shower at SS and all we can say is "Outstanding"! Monica and her team of professionals were attentive and accommodating from day 1. The banquet room was large and easy to decorate. The area easily held our party of 60 people. The food was so, so very good, hot and plentiful! We chose the lunch buffet with terrific dishes to choose from. The per person luncheon fee was reasonable, especially because there were no other fees to use the room. If we needed anything at all we need only to ask. Monica treated us like we were family. They even went over and above the call of duty for us! In our haste to clean up, some important papers were thrown away. I texted Monica as soon as we found they were missing and she got to work on it. Monica had her Dad go through the trash bags from our room and FOUND the envelope!!! Talk about exceptional service!!!! We will definitely be back. read more

It's been a while since we have been back to Short Shop. Service is slow and the burger slider was no more than a whole burger cut in fourths. Medium rare should not be raw. The cheese was so melted it was crispy. You could smell the burnt. The desire is tired and looks like whatever has been around. Needs a major overhaul. Bathrooms are another story. A cracked switch plate and a door in much need of painting. Ambiance is tired. I know why we haven't been there. read more

Went to Shortstop to grab a bite and watch the current March Madness BBall game. They were extremely busy due to a sellout concert but managed to get us a table for 4 after waiting at the bar for about 20 minutes. The young lady who attended to us was very helpful! Not only did she squeeze us in but she also worked to get our special channel on a few TV's. She was also helping to wait on several other tables. I noticed her efforts and asked her name so I could tell the manager what a hard worker she was - and it turned out that she was the owner! It was so refreshing to see that work ethic that is missing in so many establishments. I commend Monica for her positive attitude, great service, and the energy she put in to making sure things ran smoothly during an extremely busy evening. Our food and drinks were delicious! We had our wedding here in June 2025. They have a wonderful banquet room. The food was outstanding and Owner/Chef Monica was the most gracious host. I went here last night with college friends and we had a great time! We were seated for a while (maybe 15 minutes) and the owner personally came over and apologized. She noticed we had not been served and treated us to an appetizer and told us they were in the middle of cutting and the table got over looked. The food and drinks were great! Wow. I haven't felt this way in a long time. Not a place I would eat or recommend. And for perspective we did not go during any rush hr. Place was half empty. We nicely ask a waitress walking by our table if they could change one of the TVs to a basketball game and after saying of course promptly ignored the request and would not walk near our table again but she would glance at us when she went to the table two away from over from us. Our waiter while not outwardly rude dropped our food off and then was ghost for like 10 mins. Only came back when we waved him over as they forgot the mayo for one of our burgers. Unfortunately this place seems to have gone downhill, which is a huge bummer, I really used to to enjoy it. We were told it would be a short wait for table, and that was no problem, got a drink at the bar. It was a longer wait then we were quoted but that's fine no big deal. When we were finally sat no one came to help us for 20 mins, many waitstaff walked by, no one asked us if we needed help, no one told us they would be with us soon, no one would Make eye contact with us. I had to go back up to the hostess stand and tell the guy who sat us we haven't been helped, he said he would sent someone right away. A woman who had walked by us and ignored us finally came up to help after another 20 mins. During our meal, no one checked in on us, refilled our waters or anything. Got abandoned with the check as well had to walk that up to the counter too. Wish we had just left, what should have been a nice dinner with an old friend was uncomfortable and frustrating. Have heard from others they have had similar experiences as well. It wasn't super busy and there seemed to be many waitstaff on the floor. I visited the shortstop for a couple reunions. The first one was with family and the second old friends. The shortstop was the perfect spot for us all to enjoy the evening! Both times we had a big crowd and the place and the staff were very accommodating. Both times I think we ordered every appetizers and everyone found something they liked. The best part was it was casual and we could move around and mingle with everyone in the group without attracting attention. We socialized for many hours and a good time was had by all. The food was good, the waitstaff made us comfortable and we motivated the band. They said we were the only ones that ever danced! On reflecting back on the experience I didn't meet the owner but I know he was there and it was a reflection on the establishment he runs that it a good time was had by all. read more

Great place. Good atmosphere and super friendly staff. They had a thanksgiving panini which I thoroughly enjoyed for dinner, probably worth about 4 stars. However my 5 star rating is because of the apple cider sangria made by Sam. It was by far and away the best version of this drink I've ever had and I've had quite a few variations as recently reviewed. Check out the picture. It was delish. Not bad but not my first choice. Very long wait times - unacceptably long. I went here on a Sunday at 4pm so the place was empty. I asked for a water and the water was bad. They gave me tap water instead of filtered water. Very odd taste to it. The waiter was pretty responsive so no biggie. I asked for a beer and it took nearly 10 minutes to get a beer. I ordered a panini and it took about a half hour. It was ok but they didn't serve too many fries with it. So it was ok, not great. The bathroom situation needs improvement!!! It is not even in the restaurant and only one private toilet. At least it was clean. read more

We stopped by for a beer and appetizers tonight. First the positives. Nice waitress and good beer list. Brussel sprouts, which the menu says are pan fried contained pieces of french fries. I think that sort of implies they are actually deep fried. They also tasted awful. They tasted like they were actually cooked in old motor oil, not frying oil. In addition they were badly burned. The sauce was equally horrible. When the owner asked me home everything was, and I said not so good, his answer was "you'll have to tell my wife". We go to lots of restaurants and are always in search of the next hidden gem. This is no hidden gem and I would never recommend anyone go there. read more

Me and my fiance went here, and it was amazing. The potstickers had a yummy sauce. The coconut margarita was FANTASTIC. The Reuben was one of the best we've had. Our server, Chrissy said she had the perfect person to help me figure what would work for me and she got Monica which may be a Manager. She was super helpful and i ended up ordering the Brussels sprouts (no parm) as well as a pizza that i gave her full range to make me anything just make sure it was vegan. They made a great flatbread with caramelized onions, apples, arugula, and a basalmic glaze. It was great. I always appreciate a restaurant doing what they can to accommodate me and not make me feel like it's a bother. I don't want to go out to eat just for a salad or some simple pasta. I stumbled across this place by accident. I read reviews after the fact and owners or something must have changed. I have been here a few times now with the family and the staff is incredible. You always feel welcome, the service is definitely as good as anything you can find around here and the food is really good. We had one bad meal out of 10 and the owner was sincerely sympathetic and gave us our entire meal for free. Every place runs into issues here and there, the way they handled it is what makes the difference. The drinks are also very good, you truly feel welcome here and it's not a nasty sports bar, it's pretty upscale and clean considering where it's located. Very happy to keep stopping in! read more
