a plate of lasagna on a table

At first glance rolling into the parking lot this place seems like from another time and place. I suppose it is, but that's no reason to avoid! I had the eggplant Parmesan. Wow, what an impression as it first appears on the table. A zillion layers of thin pan fried eggplant on top of pasta and topped with mozzarella. Tomato gravy had a good balance of freshness and sourness. I always liked this style and this didn't disappoint. Not too oily, either. Good home style cooking. Dining companion had pizza which looked better than it tasted. Well done, you guys! We'll visit again if we find ourselves passing through the Pioneer Valley. The Chicken Parmesan beckons me.

The Russell Inn is one of those places that always has large booths and clean tables available. For locals, there is a large bar area. For diners, I have never really enjoyed the food here, however, lacking any family restaurants within several miles, we find that our children enjoy coming here to have dinner. We we have the children who love chicken nuggets, grilled cheese, and pasta with butter, and they are fairly happy here. The fries are not so great, but that is the kind of fries that they have. You know, the kind that get soggy after they sit on your plate because that is what happens to these types of fries (= disappointment). The last time we came here, one waitress sat in a corner on her phone while stacks of messy dirty plates were amongst several tables near us. It was towards the end of the evening, But it seemed pretty crappy for all of that mess to be left there while the person paid to clean it was sitting on her phone. I can't think of any time I've been here or any of the wait staff have been particularly happy to be working. I also haven't been here at any time where the place seemed particularly full. I wonder if there is any correlation? So, great place if you want to go get food for the kids, but I have found many of the specials to be not necessarily appetizing, and there is an extremely small amount of gluten-free food if that is your alternative (pizza or salad-I will save you from looking). While I would love for there to be more food options out here, I understand that there isn't really a population for change or improvement, especially now that Blandford Ski Area is not open for patrons to stop at after a day of skiing. I think if you are the burger or a wrap kind of person with a love of Yuengling beer, and don't really have high expectations, you will be fine. If you are like me and enjoy bit of diversity and, don't eat burgers or crappy Bud-draft beers, you will not necessarily find this to be the place to eat..

Happened across the Russell Inn today. Cozy, fast amazing service. Crabmeat stuffed mushrooms ( a meal by itself), excellent, Tortellini soup excellent, Sampler plate excellent, oil dipping for bread excellent. Overall grade, excellent. 2 of us shared the meal and appetizers and we are very full. We'll be back!

The Russell Inn is a true gem in the hill towns! Amazing food for so many years. Best sauce around! Their fried mozzarella is my #1 favorite of any place I've ever tried. Their stuffed mushrooms are delicious, stuffed with a seafood stuffing, loaded with flavor. Pizza is light, airy, soft dough, not greasy at all. Shrimp Francaise was to die for..lemon , butter sauce was perfection, served with huge, tender, sweet shrimp! Service was outstanding as well!

Our waitress was attentive and friendly, making sure we felt welcome throughout our meal. We kicked things off with calamari and bruschetta as appetizers. The calamari was fresh, but it could have used a bit more seasoning to elevate its flavor. As for the bruschetta, it had an unusual sour note that was quite unexpected and not at all what we've experienced before. My mother-in-law opted for the clam chowder, but unfortunately, she found it lacking and described it as terrible. On a brighter note, my wife ordered the chicken Alfredo and absolutely loved it. I chose the spaghetti and meatballs, and I was pleasantly surprised by the rich flavor of the meatballs, which redeemed the meal somewhat. Overall, I have to deduct two stars due to the disappointing appetizers and the clam chowder. While we appreciated the service, I don't think we'll be returning anytime soon.

The menu had so many great options - we decided to get a pizza, a pasta, and an entree to share between the four of us. For pizza, we ordered Donna's Favorite, and added crispy chicken. We all loved it and I especially loved the crispy prosciutto. Our entree was chicken piccata, and the capers and lemon in the sauce were excellent. We ordered the penne with vodka sauce, and again, the prosciutto was amazing! Portions were great and the three items we ordered were plenty for the four of us, and we even had leftovers for lunch. Wish we had saved room for dessert - next time!

Maybe a little salty, but honestly so am I when I think about all the overcooked shrimp I've paid for. These scrimps were perfectly cooked. Like. PERFECTLY cooked. Snappy. Scrumptious. I threw in the mac and cheese as a test, since it's usually where restaurants get lazy. But when my eyes met the cavatappi... good night. Creamy, rich, ooey gooey, with noodles standing strong against the reputation of bland mush. Cheese clung to every curve like a last desperate embrace. Not an ounce of mush. Casting the right noodle for the role is too often an overlooked detail. And oh the crunch on that chicken! Juicy, crispy, seasoned with ruthless precision. That's the kind of chicken that brings you right back. It's ready to recruit you. No wonder it's the mascot. Sign me up. I got a little ginger lime situation from the fridge. Greenery softening the edges, decor that disarms you, hospitality that feels too warm to be accidental. It's all part of the design. I am Jack's complete lack of disappointment. They're doing it. Beginning in 2002, Pac and Osella began getting together on weekends to homebrew and create food pairings. Pac brewed the beer while Osella (a chef) crafted the food pairings. In 2014, the duo launched 'Skyline Hop Shop' as an alternating proprietorship operation inside Westfield River Brewing Company at 707 College Highway. Osella offered fresh food that paired well with WRB's brews while Pac offered home brewing classes and supplies. They quickly outgrew the space and reopened as 'Skyline Trading Company' at 124 Elm Street in 2016. At this location, Pac and Osello expanded their menu both of food and beer, adding craft whiskey and tequila to the mix. After outgrowing their space again, the partners moved to 98 Southwick Road and reopened as 'Skyline Beer Company' in December 2019. Head brewer Dana Bishop came on board as additional partner, and Coy Chaney was hired as the Assistant Brew Master. The current 4,500-square-foot restaurant and taproom offers 24 rotating draught lines, cocktails, a full food menu, and beautiful views of the rolling hills of Western Mass. I recently visited Skyline Beer Company while I was cycling on the nearby Columbia Greenway Rail Trail. Skyline was on my list of breweries to try for a while, so I decided to stop by for some beers and bites. The taproom and restaurant was spacious and inviting with plenty of seating both inside and outside. I opted to sit outside and began to look over their extensive beer and food menu. I ordered a sampler flight that included "Forget Me Not" (New England Pale Ale), "Up In Smoke" (New England IPA), "Listening Juice" (Double IPA), and "Mother Ocean" (New England IPA). For food, I ordered a plate of delicious "Pretzel Bites & Cheesy Sauce". I really enjoyed all of the beers that I tried, but "Up In Smoke" (with delicious notes of grapefruit and marshmallow) was easily my favorite! I ended up ordering a full pour of it before leaving. The pretzel bites were equally delicious and paired well with my beers. I had an exceptional experience at Skyline and I look forward to returning in the future!
