Don't let Tavern in the name fool you. Yes, they have a bar but the food is fantastic! Had the Chipotle Mac & Cheese with Buffalo Chicken and it was amazing! Huge portions too! Excellent Tavern!! My wife and I went at dinner service and we were seated next to live music. The band was great and the volume was not too loud. It was a great experience we had an attentive server and the food was delicious. We were very impressed by the burger salad, the garlic parm wings and the chili!! 1st Timers to The Yarde Tavern in Enfield this afternoon. We started off with ten of the dry rub Smokey Mesquite wings -- excellent wings, some of the best we've ever had anywhere. Meaty. For our meals, my wife ordered the Chicken Milanese, and I went with the Fish n' Chips. HUGE portions. I felt her meal was slightly better than mine, but both were still stellar. Everything really hit the spot, we were very satisfied, and left with full tummies. Total (before tax), with drinks, was only $86. We felt that was very reasonable for the outstanding meals we had received. All in all, a great experience at Yarde Tavern this afternoon, we'd certainly come back again when in the area. They have plenty of specialty dishes as well as standard tavern fare, including burgers and hot wings. We visited the Yarde Tavern after exploring the New England Air Museum, and were immediately greeted by Blues Brothers statues at the entrance, setting the tone for the fun and casual atmosphere of the restaurant. We opted to sit outside on the deck, which was comfortable but could get warm with the clear paneled roof on hotter days. The servers were friendly and attentive, and our food arrived promptly. I ordered an Allagash White beer, but was disappointed to find that it tasted old and was nearly turning, despite it being the start of summer. For starters, we tried the chicken parm eggrolls, which were perfectly cooked and seasoned, served with a delicious homemade marinara sauce. I then had the lobster roll, which was tender and a great summer dish, accompanied by crispy, salty fries and coleslaw. My only wish was for a side of melted butter for dipping. My partner ordered the pastrami reuben, which featured well-cooked and flavorful pastrami. However, they weren't a fan of the finely minced sauerkraut, which made a bit of a mess. I ordered a kids fish and chips, while the girlfriend got the special scallop salad and the boss got a rodeo cheeseburger. We don't wait long, food comes out and we dig in. Overall, not bad. Everything was a little greasy. Wings were cooked well but lacking flavor. the dressings were good though, could tell they made them in house because of the amount of seasoning used. Pretty tasty, but the wings themselves were lacking. Same with the salad and the fish n chips. Fries were generic bagged, the fish was fresh and battered well, but it wasn't seasoned and very greasy. needed to be drained a little more and hit with a little salt. The salad was very one-note: Sweet. It tasted just like sugar with no reprieve. The scallops were cooked well though. Seasoned and seared well, the best bite. The burger was okay, at least according to the boss. very big, but needed salt. Overall, the food isn't stellar but the portions are large. you won't go home hungry, but it won't be tasty. Great side of the road tavern for a quick bite. Staff was friendly and attentive. Restaurant was fairly clean and tidy - but definitely tavern/bar vibe. We came for the wings, and I am torn- we ordered 20 wings for the table - but was only allowed to choose 2 sauces. Which was a total bummer bc they sauce list was amazing. We opted for Thai dry rub and Buffalo Hot. The wings themselves were good sized, meaty, and juicy. Very well cooked. The Buffalo hot was good but basic. The Thai was again good - but needed some more heat for that extra punch. The highlight of the meal was the pan fried scallops on the special summer salad. Absolutely delicious. Unfortunately the salad itself was not - the dressing lacked any acidity which against a fully sweet lineup didn't please the pallet. The burger was huge - but over cooked and lacked seasoning of the meat. The children's fish and chips were again okay - but very oily. And the fries across the board were - let's just say not good. So overall - 3 star due to friendly and attentive staff and the decency of the food for what it is. Meaning if your looking for a quick bite and your in the area, Stop by and try some grub. Been going here once in a while for many, many years. The food is slightly above average generally, I wouldn't say great or fantastic by any means. I stopped in for lunch on a Saturday and shared nachos with my daughter. Pretty good, but it's kinda hard to mess up nachos. For my meal I went with the grilled cheese meatloaf sandwich, with fries. My daughter went with the chipotle Mac and cheese with shrimp. I was fairly disappointed with my sandwich, bread wasn't really toasted at all and the American cheese wasn't even fully melted. WTF? In hindsight I should've sent it back but I didn't want to cause any trouble, my mistake there! My daughter loved the Mac and cheese with shrimp though. As far as the service goes our waitress didn't seem very interested or attentive to us. The atmosphere is decent enough, apparently the owner is into statues of various sizes, throughout the establishment a little weird but whatever. Be forewarned, this place can get very LOUD! Being rather sportsbarish. Trust me, you'll find out if you end up there when a game is on one of their numerous TV's and the drunken idiots at the bar start screaming when their favorite overpaid athlete scores. If you're into the overpriced craft beer scene they have plenty of taps for you! As well as a full bar. The bottom line is this is just another place in town that tons of people seem to be absolutely hypnotized by for reasons that aren't exactly clear or easy to understand. I ordered from the seasonal menu today. I had the Seafood Scampi. It was bursting with a generous amount of seafood covered in a delicious garlicky sauce and served over perfectly cooked pasta. It was delightful. The atmosphere is casual and friendly. The food is reasonably priced, plentiful, and delicious. I've been waiting to try this place for a while now. My wife had been and said it was delicious and she wasn't wrong. Great little spot with plenty of parking and some outside seating, indoors is cozy but spacious enough. We went on a Saturday afternoon around 4 and it was raining. I've driven by pretty much all different hours and it's always packed. The locals know what's going on. The craft beer list is plentiful, with some really nice choices. The food is well portioned and tasty. The wings were a great choice and we're spoiled by true "Buffalo" wings having visited that city multiple times. These are on par with Duffs and better than Anchor Bar. Well done. Wifey had a salad and I had a southern fried chicken sandwich. Both excellent. No room for dessert this time but they had peanut butter cheesecake among some others. We'll be back! 5 stars read more

Was looking to find someplace new when we found the Yarde Tavern online. I first had it confused it with the chain (was thinking Yard House) so my wife had to make it very clear that we'd never been here before. The atmosphere is something else - I thought I was walking into a saloon! The menu isn't that extensive, which is oftentimes a positive - it's the usual American menu: soups and salad, burgers and sandwiches, and a handful of entrees. For appetizers, we got the pretzel and the calamari, which were fantastic. My wife got the Chipotle Cheddar Mac-n-cheese with pulled pork - so massive and packed with flavor. I got the Piled High Burger, which had pulled pork and their Texas tumbleweeds (onion straws). The negative to the Piled High Burger is that it's only high because it has 3 inches of onion straws. Do yourself a favor and pull some off to make the flavors make more sense. The only real negative to our experience here was our server - he never really checked in on us. Other than that, everything was pretty great, and I would love to come back and try some of their other specialties. read more

We really enjoy coming here every once in a while. It's a local hang out with a great selection of local beers on top and really good food. Whenever I order a burger it gets cooked correctly- medium rare. And the wings are a favorite! The bartenders are always nice and very attentive. It's always packed on Fridays and Saturdays so expect a 30-45 min wait. read more
