Fire bagel!! A friend of mine recommended this spot for a Saturday morning and although it was busy, they moved the line so quick. Initially I was going to try their FB special but I saw the chicken and pesto option and immediately needed it. The chicken was so juicy and flavorful and paired well with the cheese bagel I got it on. I grabbed the chocolate cheesecake muffin to go and they warmed it up with a bit of butter. Amazing. I wish this spot wasn't too out the way for me but I'm definitely planning my way back. read more

I love me a good bagel and I came to Benson's Bagels before a pottery class. It was a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty busy but the staff managed it well. They had a bunch of different bagels behind the counter. I got my go to order a bacon egg and cheese on a plain bagel. I also got a half dozen bagels. If you are dining in they bring your meal to you. Inside they have some table and chair to sit down and eat. People come in and out quickly so the tables could get a bit crumbly. But nothing a napkin can wipe off. The sandwich was good. A standard bacon egg and cheese. The bagel was soft and thick. I would definitely come back if I'm in the area. read more

On Sunday Dec 14, 12:15pm, the service, food, and cleanliness has disappointed me sadly. Especially after coming from a walk in the snow, to try something new we seen on Facebook. When entering, it wasn't as packed as it used to be. The cashier's service was rude. No greetings was given. When we asked about certain items on the menu, she gave brushed off responses. When I asked specifically about the sweet and savory item I seen on Facebook, she told me "I don't know, I've never seen the picture". She didn't try to help me out, so I just ordered something else. I personally believe, that if you have specials posted, you should at least know about it. As we walked off to find a table to sit, every table was dirty. It was dead for awhile and still no one came around to clean them. ANYWAYS let's get to the food. The bagels aren't hitting like they used to anymore :(. One of our bagel was dry, burnt, and had no buffalo sauce on the Buffalo chicken sandwich. The cheese wasn't even melted. :( Very tasteless. The other bagel, was just ight. Bensons bagels is hands down one of the best bagel place in the local area. This was my 2nd time coming here and this visit was for especially for the Valentine's Day special advertised on Instagram for $4.99 which included a reddish bagel w cream cheese and ice coffee of your choice. It was definitely a day to get there early as these bagels run out quickly being so yummy and always fresh. It's in the Enfield area and I don't ever seem to get up in the area early enough before they close. This day was definitely a special stop to grab the holiday bagels. FYI- so excited to let you know that they are coming to South Windsor on Sullivan Avenue area in the next month or so. This will be the 2nd location of Benson's. Having a frappe first thing in the morning probably not the best idea but went with it. I thought it was delicious and slurped it all down. My girlfriend wasn't thrilled about her vanilla coffee. Too sweet. So when we got home we added more coffee to it to balance it out. Literally live up the road from here and don't ever think to come. hands down some of the best bagels and breakfast sandwiches in CT! When I saw their "Facebook Special" breakfast sandwich online, I knew I had to try it. They have these new, insanely delicious garlic parm bagels, and paired with sandwich (steak, onions, pepper, egg, cheese, etc) was exceptional. That garlic parm bagel blew me out of the water. It has the perfect parm and garlic balance and I ended up ordering two of them to go! Their passion lemonade was also fantastic and a must try! I also got a bacon egg and cheese on a bacon cheddar bagel and it was FIRE! The bacon cheddar bagel itself had some much flavor and chunks of cheddar and bacon, i was so happy I scored the last one! My recent visit to Benson's Bagels is my favorite first trip to a bagel shop in a while. I arrived around 9 a.m. on a Saturday, and they had a 10 person line that stayed pretty consistent throughout my visit. An obvious sign of their popularity. They managed the line well, which was especially impressive given that they were apparently training a new cashier during prime time. Benson's is very nice inside and they have a large seating section. The tables were mostly full while we were there, but nobody had to wait for a table to open. I ordered a Corned Beef Hash and Cheese (the special that day) on a French Toast Bagel. It was very good. The corned beef hash seemed homemade with high quality corned beef. It was tasty and had great texture. You won't find much better at CT diners and breakfast restaurants. The French Toast bagel was good chewy and the slight sweetness was a great counterpoint to the good salty corned beef. I tried my son's Bacon, Fried Egg and American on an everything bagel. The filling of the sandwich was great. The bagel was good chewy. There was a medium amount of everything seasoning. The color of the bagel was a bit lighter than I expect, but it tasted good. My son and I also split the Cajun seasoned tots. The seasoning was tasty and the tots were perfectly crispy. I also tried one of Benson's green, red and brown Christmas bagels with their veggie cream cheese. I got the bagel and cream cheese to go, put it in the fridge over night, and toasted it on a bagel setting the next day. It was still very fresh tasting and the color was terrific. The veggie cream cheese had subtle flavors and didn't have much veggie texture. It was about average for CT Bagels shops. This was a great first to Benson's and I highly recommend it. I live 30 minutes away. If I lived closer, I'd be a regular. If you're a CT bagel person, it's definitely worth making the drive at least once. 4.5 Stars read more

She then yelled at her employee in front of everyone blaming them . I still didn't get an apology she just blamed everyone but herself and rolled her eyes and threw my change back at me . Ordered from Benson's online so I can make it to work in time and it was a great experience. I got there a few minutes after they opened (7am) and only waited a couple minutes for my breakfast sandwich. What really struck me was how nice all the staff was- even that early in the morning! It was such a pleasant experience. At this point of the day all the bagels were freshly out of the oven and super warm so I also ordered a variety of bagels. I got their everything bagel egg ham and cheese sandwich with a hash brown inside- it was solid. The everything bagel was a bit more oniony than I would've liked but it has a nice bite to it. I enjoyed the sandwich. I also got a French toast, blueberry and cinnamon and raisin bagel. I only tried the blueberry as I shared with coworkers but I loved it. Their bagels are a great size & have a nice chew to them so it's not too crunchy/ dry like other bagels in the area. Enfield CT, for as long as I've lived in or around the town, has never had a bagel place, and this is almost a crime against humanity. Enfield is a well-populated, robust, hungry town and to be without a bagel shop has seemed ludicrous all these years, but the situation has been rectified with the addition of Benson's Enfield St location (they have another store in Springfield, though I've never visited)! To say I like Bagels is to say that flowers "sorta like rain," so visiting Benson's was at the top of my priority list. I've now visited three times, and each visit has included an Egg/Cheese sandwich on an Everything bagel, and they've all been killer. Perfectly seasoned bagel, decent size, and although the "stuffs" inside isn't abundant, portion-wise, it tasted great. I haven't had a lunch sandwich so maybe their meat portions, etc., are bigger, but honestly how much can you stuff into an egg/cheese anyway, amirite? The staff has been welcoming and helpful on each visit, and the location is clean, inviting, and well-appointed. On the weekends, you may wait in a line, so if that sort of thing annoys you, either stop being such a grump, or visit on the weekdays. The way I do my reviews, especially with newer businesses, is they all start with a 5-star. Why? Well, that's none of your beeswax but I'll tell you anyway. Opening a business is HARD, and presents challenges that many of us will never fully comprehend, so if you're willing to open up a yummy bagel shop or ice cream parlor or hair salon, then you get 5 stars from the jump for trying. If you serve me a pizza that tastes like the box it came in or laugh at me because I dress like a dork or take 45 minutes to make me a 5 scoop hot fudge sundae with a package of crushed Oreos on it, then yeah, you're getting knocked some stars, bucko! Otherwise, it's a 5 or maybe a 4 if everyone doesn't clap when I walk in. We'll see. Anyway, loved Benson's Bagels...and look forward to my 4th trip soon! read more

Benson's used to be the best, but over the last few years it has been horrible. Flavorless food and the service is the worst I've ever experienced. I'm pretty sure that all of the staff was stoned today because at one point, one employee was standing and staring at the bagel rack and not moving. I watched the rest of the staff move in slow motion and was in disbelief. It was like the walking dead. I timed it and (no exaggeration) it took one guy 5 minutes to place lettuce and onions on a sandwich. Nobody acknowledged me standing at the register when they were all standing right there. Took 30 minutes for 3 simple breakfast sandwiches and people were walking out without taking their food. So sad because this used to be a great place. So finally got me and the family over to try out these delicious bagels I see all over Instagram and let me tell you they did not disappoint. Benson's is on the corner of a strip mall that also includes an Ax throwing place and jujitsu business. When you walk in the menus are on the wall above the counter. Don't forget to take a look at all the plaques on the counter they list all kinds of specials in seasonal offerings. We came for the bagels but also left with some fresh hot out of the oven muffins. We went with a Loaded Pastrami on a everything bagel which was loaded with Swiss, a fried egg, peppers and onions and a crispy hash brown. We also ordered the Corned beef special on a cheddar bagel with Swiss. My mother in law got the BLT on a croissant and we ordered a toasted sesame bagel with veggie cream cheese for the kids. And we couldn't resist an order of cajan tater tots. We also tried out their lavender lemonade and a hazelnut avalanche smoothie but replaced it with almond instead of hazelnut. Once we finished ordering we grabbed a table and they brought everything out to us once it was ready. The pastrami was nice and tender and the bagel had a nice chew with a soft interior. The Corned beef looked to be made in house and I can't tell you which tasted better they were both delicious. The Tater tots were nice and crispy and that cajan seasoning gave your taste buds a nice kick especially the more seasoned ones. The mother in law said the BLT was really good had a good amount of bacon and she loved the croissant. I snuck a bite of my kids bagel as the sandwich the bagels exterior has a nice chew and the interior was tender the veggie cream cheese was good but needed more of a Veggie taste it was quite mild. The lavender lemonade was very refreshing and the smoothie was so good almost like a non-alcoholic toasted almond. When we got home we couldn't resist anymore and dug into the still warm muffins. We got a cranberry walnut orange one and a blueberry one. The muffin was nice and moist. Really good. Probably would have been really awesome. Toasted on a griddle with some butter but still great. Fresh right out of the bag. I wish Benson's was a little closer because I would definitely visit them on a more regular basis but it takes about a half hour to get although I will say the bagels are worth the drive. read more

This is review is based on my three experiences at this establishment. They definitely put a lot of money into making this place nice, clean, and updated. There is a wide variety of food options and flavors. I've tried the flavored coffee and a few different breakfast sandwiches. Everything has been fresh and good. I've not been completely wowed by anything but the food is very consistent. In the area (there isn't really anything like it) and I'm not surprised if they have a very successful operation. Each time I've been in there there's been a handful of people ordering and sitting down. My one critique of this place is that the front person kick customer service up a notch, maybe smiling and engaging in the customer because in a small town you must make connections with your customers and your clients and interact with them. This one thing could take this business and really set it apart, if they can engage with their customers. The public like going to a place and having somebody know your name or recognize you from being there before like welcome back nice to see you, etc. etc.. Versus "What can I help you with?" And giving you your order number and sending you down like a package on a conveyor belt lol. Was looking for a bagel place near our new town and am so happy to have found Benson's! Went in a Saturday morning, it was quite busy! There were lots of bagel flavors to choose from and a big menu even aside from the bagels. We ordered toasted bagels with cream cheese to go and all were yummy. My only issue was there was waaaay too much cream cheese on our bagels (and if you know me, I always over cream cheese my bagels)! Even for me a little too much but still tasty! Benson's opened a few months ago at this location, and this was our first visit. Our bagels were fresh with generous portions of cream cheese and butter. The line to order was long, but it moved very quickly. And the wait after ordering was minimal. The staff is friendly. They call out your number and bring your order out to you. The seating is comfortable, and the parking is abundant. They have an extensive menu of breakfast items. It is very affordable.
