Center Square Grill is such a nice restaurant, and we usually always have the best experience here. Which is why I was surprised and disappointed during my most recent visit. My steak was overcooked and the Brussels sprouts were hard and undercooked. At first, we told our waitress everything was okay, but after more discussion toward the end of the meal, we decided the expensive steak was truly overdone and mentioned it. Our waitress was incredibly apologetic and immediately offered to have a new steak made and to take it off the bill. The manager was also so helpful and amazing in making things right. Even though the meal itself wasn't up to their usual standard, the way the situation was handled proves exactly why we keep coming back. Service was fantastic. Food was delicious. Only complaint is the price point of the food was little high, would have preferred less food smaller price point. We opted for a more tapas style light dinner. With sesame crusted tuna, Cobb salad, fondue tower, and calamari 1/2&1/2. We appreciated the 1/2 and 1/2 option for the calamari (1/2 Rhode island, 1/2 regular) but when the plate came you couldn't tell the divide. Which was an issue for those that don't want spicy. The bar was very busy and the cocktail menu seems very good. So I can definitely see this place as your after work dinner with friends place to be. But for a calm casual dinner - maybe not. I use to always say that I've never had a bad meal here and even though the meal wasn't bad, it wasn't great either. We came Sunday around 1:20pm for lunch. I've had their calamari before and really enjoyed it but this time it just wasn't good. It was on the soggy side and not really hot. We left more than half of it. Then the Cobb salad that we normally really enjoy, the chicken was very dry and tough. Whereas it's normally moist. My brother tried the birria tacos and he said the taco was just meh, and kinda on the bland side but that the fries were really good. The service was great as always. It was interesting that the waitress asked if we wanted a box to pack up the calamari when we didn't receive any of our entrees yet, was still actively eating the calamari, and the entrees came out much later. Was up the road and figured I would pop in for lunch on a Friday . Got there a little before opening so sat outside. First to sit at bar and happy I got there when I did, when I left an hour not a seat was available as it was filled with regulars. French onion soup, burger and Reeses pb pie was what I filled my stomach with. Everything was delicious although I could have skipped dessert as I really didn't need the calories and the extra expense. Bartender wasn't really on her game today and she openly admitted that. Couple things fell on the floor as well as serving me a water with some kind of paper in it at the bottom. Judging by her conversations with the regulars she is overcoming something. She apologized and I gave her an ok when I pointed out the paper in the water. Was a good lunch overall. Very much enjoyed the burger! We visited center square grill for lunch today and had a great time. We had the French onion soup as an appetizer. We both had the hot honey chicken sandwich with the side salad and fries. The side salad looked so fresh and the balsamic dressing was delicious. The fries were good but I think the Parmesan or truffle would have gave them more flavor. The chicken sandwich was definitely its own signature and not quite what I was expecting but it didn't disappoint. I wish the chicken was a bit crisper. If you want a good steak then this is the place to go. The atmosphere is quaint and cozy and the staff is generally friendly. Got a take out Margherita pizza this time around and very very disappointed. I'll never order a pizza here again. The sauce was so-so and the crust was very thin and did not have good texture. Also didn't look like real slices if mozzarella cheese which is frustrating. My wife got a filet and said it was pretty decent. The prices are a little steep but not outrageous. This was my first visit to Center Square, Grill and I will be back! It was excellent from start to finish. It's nice to have a restaurant that takes reservations. Our table was ready when we arrived. I had the mock tail. It was excellent. My friend had Johnny Walker Scotch. The waiter asked if he would like a large ice cube or regular cubes. We thought that was a nice touch for a scotch drinker. We both had French onion soup for an appetizer. I have a gluten allergy so mine did not have the bread in it. The onion soup was excellent. Highly recommend. I had the fillet with added shrimp. It was cooked perfectly. The potatoes were lovely, and the brussels sprouts were excellent. My friend had the short ribs with mashed potatoes and veggies. He said they were excellent. We split a crème brûlée for dessert because we were pretty full but wanted a little sweet treat. It was just the right size. Not too big. So creamy. Service was excellent. The restaurant was very busy on Saturday night but I could see food coming out quickly. Our entire experience was outstanding. I highly recommend Center Square Grill. read more

For a grill that looked like it should have good cocktails, I was extremely disappointed in my drink. I got an old fashioned because all the drinks on the menu looked super sweet with various syrups and liquors. I could tell when it arrived that I was not going to like it. It didn't have the rich orange/red color that it should have and looked like water with a tinge of color. It tasted the same as well. Super watered down. I should have gotten wine instead. Food was also lackluster. My scallops were cooked well but paired on some buttery risotto where you could only taste butter so it was too heavy. I will say I liked the tomato jam that came on top of the scallops which gave it some nice brightness. The whole dish was lacking acid though so I needed to douse it in Tobasco sauce. There was a lemon garnish but you couldn't squeeze it on top. Service was also quite slow considering the place was empty. read more

First and foremost the staff at Center Square Grill are amazing. The owner Bill is amazing along with the manager. Very friendly and welcoming. Our waitress Sara was outstanding. She was friendly funny and very attentive. The food was five star!! We ordered the Lobster Pappardelle which was delicious with large portions of claw meat. The Wagyu Ribeye is worth every cent, by far the best steak I've ever eaten. Cool to perfect med-rare tender juicy full of flavor and not a pice left on the plate. Restaurant has a nice atmosphere family friendly but quaint enough for a private anniversary dinner. Nice bar area if you just want to grab a beer and some appetizers. I have not been here in a long time but everything was simply amazing. Bobby was amazing. He was our server. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and was very helpful when it came to me ordering a cocktail. This is a nice quaint place. there's an outdoor seating area and inside. It's very bright and it was just a very nice lunch with some old friends. I had the pizza the house Special which was unbelievable the crust if you like thin crust this is the place Cheese. Everything was very very good. I added arugula and prosciutto which made it extra special. My sister had the Cobb salad. It was great and my other friend she had the Rueben sandwich again. My husband and I went to Center Square Grill to celebrate our anniversary! We had eaten here once before and couldn't wait to come back again! The food is excellent! The short ribs are our favorite....and we got calamari as an appetizer both times we went! What made our experience extra special the second time around was our server Sarah R.! She went the extra mile to make our anniversary special....from bringing us champagne.....to writing Happy Anniversary on our crème brûlée (which is also fantastic)!! She also humored us with a photo request!! The atmosphere is relaxed....we never feel rushed to finish our meal and the staff is always attentive and kind. We couldn't recommend the restaurant more! Went to the CSG on a Monday for a small work event. Sorry no photos, and I'll only comment on my food. I haven't been to the CSG in a few months, and have usually had a pleasant experience. Our server today did a great job keeping up with our party of 10 people and we didn't wait for anything. We were closed off in a smaller room of the restaurant due to our reservations, but it was just what we needed to keep us separate from the rest of the "regular" diners. I ordered the Jamaican Chicken entree. Not to brag, but having been to Jamaica a couple of times in my life and absolutely loving their distinct food, spices, and flavors, there was nothing "Jamaican" about this. The rice, beans, etc... were all a nice touch for attempting to make it Jamaican, but I was not at any point taken back to the Island and reminded of the World renowned "Red Flag service" and unique flavors of Jamaica. Most of the other dishes I've had at CSG have been above average to very good, but I'd stay away of the Jamaican Chicken if you want to be taken back to a memory of the Island. read more

The special burrata salad we got was one of the best salads I've had! They have a lot of seating and there is never usually a wait because of that. We went for a 6 o'clock dinner a few days after Christmas and were very glad we had made a reservation! Despite the crowd, we were seated in only a few minutes and our server was excellent and friendly. We split the General Tso's cauliflower appetizer and it was declared a winner by the three of us. We have been eating the similar dish at Max Burger for several years and love that both places have tasty yet quite different versions. The CSG version is a bit more like a fusion with buffalo cauliflower, but don't let that scare you off - it is a great fusion. I had the Roasted Duck Confit Salad as an entree and would definitely get it again. Just the right size for me and the duck was deliciously crispy. The other two meals were a Truffle Burger and CSG Power Salad, both of which I was told were very good. The deserts change regularly so aren't posted on line, but when we asked early about desert our server brought us a copy of the desert menu so we could plan. We ended up splitting a very nice lemon cake three ways. We aren't big desert people but this was the perfect finish to a great meal. The bread also deserves a special mention - nice and crispy, but the highlight is the bean dip it is served with. I liked it so much I asked if they could pack what was left with my leftovers, and was sent home with a new little container of it! The only possible drawback is that it was a little slow - not surprising given the crowd. This makes it a great place to hang out with friends and family over a few courses and drinks, but maybe less so if in a hurry to get somewhere. We were allowed all the time necessary to settle-in, chat, and scour through the menu pages and way through the nightly specials. Everyone ordered beverages and an 4 appetizers for the table to share: Truffle Fries, Brussels & Bacon, Ahi Tuna special, Buffalo Cauliflower. Well, that was essentially a meal on it's own, however, all had stepped easily and reserved enough for a main. This dining experience was impeccable. Unique and inviting ambiance. Very professional staff. The food prices were a bit expensive however they had a Monday night steak special which was very reasonably priced. The steak was grilled to perfection and the potatoes and root vegetables were also outstanding. They had a nice variety of steak sauces which were served on the side. I reccomend the cheese sauce. After leaving a restaurant due to a 15 minute wait with NO acknowledgement that I was waiting (third time this happened), I went to Center Square Grille. As a new resident to this town, I have been seeking a friendly place to eat and feel welcomed. Upon walking in, I was immediately greeted by 3 people, including the bartender - Heather. The atmosphere was very nice, friendly and the place is very clean. I ordered the carne asada tacos with fries. I didn't have to wait a long time for my late lunch. The steak was well seasoned and there were just enough fries. I have found my "local" spot and won't go back to the other place. Went to the table to find a broken glass cup sitting there, which was quickly replaced. The food, subpar. The burrata and tomato caprese. The tomato was orange and green, the burrata sliced up which is not how it should be. The fish bland had to add black pepper to make to edible . Soda had a mosquito in it, we ate inside. We are here for a belated Valentine's Day dinner as suggested by our wedding caterer and this place did not disappoint! First off we were 15 mins late for our reservation and they still graciously sat us, even with a 25 min wait for those in front of us! Fantastic service with a great attitude. We started with their signature cocktails (sip of sunshine and notorious FIG) and their calamari 2 ways.the cocktails were fun and th calamari was delicious (and we LOVE calamari). Cocktails were well priced and strong poured and calamari was crispy and flavorful. For entrees, I had the braised rib and my husband had the lobster pasta. The flavors were unique and delicious and the portions were generous. Loved the garlic mashed with the red wine demiglaze sauce and the meat was so tender. The pasta had just the right kick and so much fresh flavor perfectly paired with the sweetness of the large portioned claw meat. For dessert we had the creme brulee and peanut butter pie. Both were a great finish to a fantastic meal. Can't wait to get my family here. The place is very family friendly or could be intimate for couples. We saw several large groups celebrating birthdays.
