This was a delightful treat: a delicious dinner on a charming patio with excellent cocktails and warm and impeccable service from Alicia. My daughter's chicken Parmesan was perfectly cooked with a red sauce and pesto over rigatoni cooked al-dente. My son's burger was cooked to medium on the dot, and my fish (cod) and chips were fried to a perfect crisp. Don't skip ordering a side dish of their house special risotto. Desert: Apple cider donut bread pudding, chocolate cake, and blueberry cheesecake, were well-executed. Stopped in for Sunday evening dinner after a self care visit in Easthampton. I had a cup of chowder and a strawberry salad. Why I did not take pictures of ether I do not know, but both were enjoyable. The service was under par. The young girl ignored my request for a glass of water. She brought me a seltzer at first and I had to ask her three more times before bringing me one which I think was almost at the end of dinner. She had a couple other flaws with orders at the table as well. Maybe just the Sunday night I want to go home blues? Been here a couple times over the years with family. Pretty sure my aunt had a reception here too. A place I don't think about all that often but this most recent visit would not stop me from coming back. read more

We were moving our son into UMass on my husband's birthday and found this restaurant on Yelp. It was a beautiful location and the service was lovely. The dining are was nice, but the music didn't seem to match the ambiance of the room. My husband's steak was overcooked. But the other entrees were great - bolognese and the Wagyu burger. We enjoyed a great, very long-distance take out from Delaney's last night. After moving east last year we still had a couple of Delaney's gift cards to finish off and this was the perfect chance. We got the braised short rib and the spicy plant based jambalaya. Instead of mashed potatoes they let us sub in the garlic parmesan roasted potatoes which were delicious. The short rib was generous and cooked just right and the jambalaya was wonderfully seasoned and came with three different plant based proteins. I very much appreciate this as many places skimp on the protein in plant based dishes. Both came with salads (also shown in pics). They also packed us two rolls each - flavorful and a little sweet. We only ate half of everything last night so will be enjoying again today. The food was still as awesome as we remembered, even after traveling two hours across state. First time trying Delaney House- The good: I had excellent service and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. My prime rib was cooked to the correct temperature I requested and was seasoned well. The bad: my octopus was horribly overcooked, and my prime rib had a moat of au jus which made cutting quite dangerous for splashing my shirt. A different plating arrangement would easily solve that. Some of the chairs need some maintenance-mine was wobbly and my seat cushion was loose. Overall I felt like my meal was fairly priced from appetizer to dessert, and cocktails as well. I would go back to try other things, and I would order the prime rib again-just request the au jus served separately. read more

My college roommate and I (from 40 years ago) meet regularly for dinner and found the Delaney House. We were so happy with everything. They offer a "dinner for 2" special that included an appetizer to share, soup/salad, entrees, dessert and a bottle of wine for $79!! The food was great and our waiter Ryan was very attentive. I've been twice and good experiences each time. This last time we sat in bar area. Reservations strongly encouraged. Our server was great and there was live music, so it was a little loud but not bad. The local musicians were very talented. My haddock was fantastic and so was the calamari. The popovers are dreamy. We used to enjoy coming to brunch here at least once a year but unless changes are made, this is the last time we'll come here. On Sunday, we had reservations at 1pm and were seated promptly. The place wasn't too busy, as we had the last brunch seating time. The brunch has changed from a buffet to a pre fix menu for $29.99pp. From here, it was downhill. We waited over 20 minutes for coffee (our server needed a reminder). We were brought a basket of popover tops (which were dry and hard) and he took our orders. Our first course came in a timely fashion-- avocado toast for me, which was nicely plated and portioned. Then we waited.... and waited.... and waited for our entrees. Our server told us the kitchen needed a few more minutes for the medium-well steak and eggs-- then he told us that again-- then he said it'd be a few more minutes! Our entrees arrived and half the food was cold and we had to ask for all accompaniments (s&p, ketchup, maple syrup) from another server because ours was no where to be found. The meal is supposed to be served with family style sides (French toast sticks, pancakes). When we finally flagged down our server to inquire about it, he said they had run out! I am not sure how you run out of pancakes, I think they just stopped making them. I had the chicken and waffles, which was actually pretty good and my husband's steak and eggs was cooked to his liking. By the end, we were all frustrated and took our dessert to go. This was a major disappointment, considering my in laws don't go out to eat very often. Clearly this new brunch isn't working for them and they will hopefully return to the buffet brunch. The Delaney house is a well known Western Mass restaurant it's a more upscale than your average boring national chain. But you get this really good mix of people going out for some good dinning with family or romantic interest or you can get the group of guys after work who just want a good steak or good burger. We started with the Pork Belly in that Thai Peanut BBQ sauce. There are some things that have no right to be so good. Pork belly perfectly cooked so it's soft and the fat just literally melts in your mouth. The Asian sauce it's tier one. Good. My kid had the steak tips with the mashed potatoes and a side Ceasar salad. We had came to celebrate her getting her first 3 college acceptance letters. My wife had a winter salad with the Chicken Pot Pie. The winter side salad was the side of most restaurants full size salads, same for the two side Caesar we got as well. For 8 dollars it was a great value. The chicken pot pie is served in a Lodge number 7 cast iron pan. In an unusual yet interesting and delightful twist their hearty Chicken pot pie has a thin layer of house made mashed potatoes. Just making it a hearty THICCC meal. I mean it's a beautiful presentation and the flaky golden pastry lid. It's perfect. I had the braised pork chops with roasted Fiji apples and this sauce that I wish they sold it by the jar. It has a hint of Apple cider and steak sauce. The pork was perfect and with the Caesar salad I couldn't eat both of the porkchops in this entry. The staff from the time you come in to the time you leave are attentive and friendly. It's hard to get that perfect balance of make sure you are good with anything you might need when a place is packed like it was this Saturday evening. But we don't have to go longer than a few minutes in between empty drinks. The table side bread is also great with Popovers and garlic rolls with a choice of two type of butters. I went here for my birthday this year and the food was SO GOOD. We dined in the main dining hall, which is fine but if you dine on the Mick side it's a little more laid back and casual so next time we'll make reservations for that side. I tried the Baked Stuffed Sole - definitely an interesting dish and it was very heavy on the shrimp and crab stuffing and I added an 8oz sirloin which only made me wish I had went with the beef for my main entree. The steak literally melted in my mouth and was so tender and full of flavor. Fingerling potatoes were greasy and too seasoned with garlic. Butternut squash raviolis were served dry and tough (2 orders) not enough sauce. Popovers were good. Decent dark chocolate gelato served with fake cool whip topping. Crème brûlée got a thumbs down. Fish curry sauce was oddly sweet yet very spicy. Good service (but varies) and nice ambiance (mostly a senior crowd). The food is well below expectations every time. We tried fish dishes and various meat entrees. They are all poorly prepared: poorly cooked (temp), over sauced, bad sauce, starchy sides, soft sides and the like. This place has so much potential. I haven't been to the Delaney House in years. We went on 1/11 with a 5:30pm reservation and it was fairly busy. My GF and I took our moms (elder) which can sometimes be difficult for busy servers. We had Morgan taking care of us and she was phenomenal. Super friendly, took time to chat with us and we never had to ask to replenish drinks and she was super attentive in making sure we had everything we needed.....she put our dining experience over the top. The Delaney House is bomb. We sat outside, we've been inside and also to Delaney Mick, and we sat outside for Covid but this time we were on the newly renovated patio. Beautiful space and a 3 piece jazz quartet was there to entertain. The drinks are very good, I had a margarita and she had a glass of red wine. The app was calamari and it was done perfectly. Crispy on the outside, the right temp and not too chewy. And the bread....you have to get the Delaney pop-over, it's a mainstay. As is the Chop Chop salad, the dressing is amazing. They do everything right before the main course. The main course was a deconstructed beef Wellington and it was done medium rare, I think it was a little more "done" than it could've been but still delicious. My wife's salmon salad was done a little more than medium rare as well, but again delicious. This is the first time that we've received food that was done a little more than we asked but it was still amazing and probably a one-off. Dessert was a crème brûlée cheesecake and expresso martini that we split. I could've hogged the whole thing down myself but I know I would've regretted it. Outstanding! I am between a 3 and 4 for this place, but going with a 3 overall. I would definitely return and there were some positives so I can recommend. If you are looking for something more intimate, ask to be seated in the Library room which is smaller, quieter, and IMO nicer than the other areas. The food and drink selection are decent. However, my wife ordered a mojito which was pretty bad. We both questioned if the bartender even knew how to make a mojito. I could not taste any mint or rum. It tasted like straight seltzer water with a dash of lime. Shrimp cocktail tasted a bit off, but they kindly took it off the bill. Pierogi appetizer with bacon and cheese was very nice and served in a cute cast iron skillet. The baby back ribs were amazing and very tasty. My rib eye steak was $54. It was very good, but I am not sure $54 good. Service was excellent. Ambiance was decent albeit somewhat dated. The bread was a 10!! Tasted fresh and served warm with butter. Tonight the risotto was undercooked measurably, and the seasoning was out of a flavor shaker bottle I am familiar with. Forget cost for a moment. This is one of many meals I've had here . Don't get the chop salad. It comes straight out of a premade bag and I can smell and taste the preservatives. The cook needs a new cookbook or food supplier, or needs another gig. 4.5 stars. One of my favorite restaurants. The food is absolutely delicious, pan de queso (I think they call it pop-over here is a great addition) both quiet rooms and a bar/music atmosphere. The only reason I took off half of a point was because I remember the pop-overs being hot and fresh and way better last time, and they were sitting a fire minutes before they got to us the most recent time and it could have been much better. As covid-19 was ramping up, we decided to go to the Delaney House for their Sunday buffet in the beginning of March figuring if they closed everything down, we wouldn't be able to go anytime soon. It's a good thing we did as it was the last Sunday they were open. As you can see by the picture, they had already taken tables out to social distance folks. Delaney House is known for their Sunday buffet. It's incredible! I'll just list "some" of the tasty items: a soup and salad bar, made-to-order omelets, pancakes, waffles, bacon, eggs Benedict, cereal, bagels with various schmere and jams, donuts, pastries, a carving station with roast beef, ham and lamb (with gravies and sauces), various baked desserts, puddings, and an ice cream bar. I know I'm missing a bunch of items. The buffet also comes with coffee, tea and a special flavored mimosa or bellini. You can't beat the price, not the service. I'm hopeful they'll be open before summer ends. It's a wonderful environment for a special occasion, as I did my mother's 70th birthday there, or just a nice Sunday sitdown brunch. read more

I do think the Sunday brunch might still be worth the $30 because it includes coffee, tea, and juice. However, it really is not the same as the old buffet. I don't think they can use COVID as an excuse anymore to not have it. I will return if they bring back the buffet, but not for this. The avocado toast had guacamole and slices of hard boiled egg.... I would not recommended this. I got the steak frittata, which was good, but the advertised side of family style pancakes and french toast were two french toast sticks and tiny pancakes. I think there are way better options for brunch now that the buffet is gone. read more

We had a reservation for noon - and were seated immediately. The restaurant was cute and festive for Valentine's Day - festooned with hanging hearts, red & pink cloth napkins, and even a photo area near the bathrooms with heart-shaped balloons. For half an hour, we sat without being served. Finally we flagged a waiter at another table who called a guy who took our order. The new waiter was apologetic -- we ordered shrimp and overnight oats & berries. These took another 20 minutes to arrive. Then, we reminded the server our drinks hadn't arrived -- those were a cappuccino and a hot tea. 10 minutes later these came, and then the server brought bread, but I had to flag him down to see if it was gluten free -- it wasn't so I reminded him that I am gluten free and yes, if they had an option I'd like a roll. About 10 minutes later, a roll came -- it was warm and good. Then, twenty minutes or so after that, our food came. Again, more server apologies -- we felt bad as the server was nice and seemed to be trying. The food itself was tasty: a western frittata and a plant-based power breakfast. We we're running quite late for our next appointment so we had to get the desserts to go (which was fine as they weren't for me anyway). All in all, the food was fine, but we left the restaurant 2.5 hours later and that wasn't ideal. read more
