Great start breakfast sandwich - I suggest getting it in their homemade tomato basil bread though ! Best breakfast sandwich I've had

We go here often and they never disappoint! Seating is tight so arrive early but worth it ! Staff is very friendly and food amazing !

This place hits the trifecta ..amazing food , great atmosphere and the staff was kind, and helpful. This is the kind of place you don't want to miss!!!

Yes yes yes. Marks is a great hidden gem in Enfield CT. We stopped in, this tiny cute clean little place on a Friday. The owners are very nice, and made us feel welcome (including making us a fresh pot of coffee even tho it was the end of their day) we ordered an egg and cheese croissant, egg and cheese on homemade fresh English muffin bread and French toast with sweetened cream cheese and fresh fruit. And I was literally blown away by the simplicity but how amazing it was. The bread, made fresh by mark, was the best I've had. So flaky and toasty with such flavor. I will go back for the the bread at this point many times. The French toast was also very good. One of the best for the area. My roommate ate the entire thing, usually we have left overs. It's small, and opened wed-sun only (and apparently very busy on the weekends) but worth a trip for a simple fresh breakfast.

Wow, this is not your typical diner though it has all of the usuals at reasonable prices. It has ambience, freshly baked goods, daily specials that are awesome and more. Go there!

A group of colleagues and I were looking for a quick bite to eat before heading to parent conferences. We found Marks immediately through a google search and especially on yelp. Their five star rating and one dollar sign immediately attracted us to this restaurant! When we arrived we were greeted by the friendly staff. It was really great to see my students popping in and out as well as it showed a great sense of community! Breakfast is served all day! This satisfied my craving for a breakfast sandwich and home fries! The bun used was simply perfect and homemade! The menu has basically everything from a meatloaf dinner entree to buffalo chicken wraps. Prices were so so reasonable as well! Just a warning for customers who pay with a card dining in- there is no option to put a tip on your receipt so bring cash! We felt so bad we couldn't tip because we all did not have any cash on us! The woman helping us was so nice though and said don't worry about it but she definitely deserved a large tip! We will definitely be back and will bring cash for tip next time! I am so excited to try out the rest of their menu. I highly recommend Marks!!

Great food and very friendly. My 4 year old son and I loved it. Try the English muffin bread.

Met some friends who recently loved to enfield. This place is small inside but the food is good. The English muffin bread was tasty but needed more butter. The pancakes were excellent. The only point of mediocre to me was I was not a fan of the home fries. But short of that I found this to be decent breakfast in the area.

Incredible service, incredible food! Within this residential neighborhood, Mark's definitely stands out. We walked in and were seated right away. The restaurant was very casual, cozy, cute, and was fairly empty on a Saturday morning. Between the three of us, we ordered the Philly omelette, the great start sandwich, and the stuffed french toast. Can I tell you that my mind was BLOWN when I tasted these dishes. The Philly omelette had beef that was perfectly seasoned along with onions and peppers, the great start sandwich was packed full of veggies and a fried egg, and the stuffed french toast had 3 layers with cream and fruit in between each layer. Each of these was made from scratch and I could tell because they had the homemade flavor. It also took a while for the food to arrive, but boy was it worth the wait. I would absolutely come back.

Sadly, I did not know Mark's existed until just recently, or I would have been enjoying the food here already. Alas, it is what it is. I know now. And what I know is YUM. My husband and I came in yesterday after a lunch attempt with friends didn't work out. Cut loose and on our own (and very hungry), we headed to Mark's to try it out. The place is easy to see when you're driving down Pleasant (like, all the way down). It's a lovely building, and the restaurant is so cute! There are pics on the wall in various places that show the "before" and "after"--and they took this place from deplorable to adorable for real! We were greeted & seated by Melissa, who welcomed us like family and even did a little "welcome dance." This is a woman who obviously loves her job, loves people, and loves to share the good vibes. All very welcome things to me. I had the Great Start Sandwich -- 2 fried eggs, sauteed baby spinach, roasted red peppers, tomatoes, and garlic aioli on lightly toasted marble rye bread. Oh. My. Goodness. The eggs were fried to tender perfection, to my delight, and the combination of subtle flavors goin' on...well, the sandwich lives up to its name! My husband had the french toast -- 3 slices of Texas toast, cut in half and dusted with powdered sugar -- and a side of sausage links (they do offer patties, too). He is all about the sugar and the meat, and he loooved his meal. Oh, both orders came with a generous side cup of homefries, also delicious. We split a soda, and our check was a mere $17. Amazing. I also feel compelled to mention the bathroom, since even the best places can have sketchy potties--and I'm a lady with a small bladder (I know I'm not the only one, right?). Anyhoo, it's one bathroom, but it is HUGE. Like, you could roll a wheelchair through it with ease (couple grab bar options, too). I wasn't in my wheelchair, but I could have been. And this stuff is nice to know! (It is also well-lit and actually clean. I wish more eatery bathrooms were like this.) So we loved Mark's and will be back for more breakfast. And lunch. And coffee. Maybe ice cream, too.

Two eggs over easy, homemade biscuit, hash browns and sausage gravy on the side

And another great breakfast here! You have to try this place, food is like your mom's kitchen. I had the special, two eggs, biscuit (gravy on the side for me) and hash browns. By far the best homemade biscuit and hash browns ! Egg is an egg but cooked very well !

Chili Cheese Dog w/ a side of coleslaw (usually comes w/ a bag of chips)
    Nina C.

Love this place! It's very inviting from the outside and even more cozy on the in. Prices are fair, most of the food is homemade so it really doesn't get any fresher. I mean c'mon, they're even making their own breads/muffins, and their servers are the sweetest! What to order? So, I've been going in for their $5.00 1/4 lb. Chili Cheese Dog, it's the best I've had anywhere! I appreciate that they split the hot dog down the middle (so it really holds onto the chili nicely), and then they give it a good sear on either side, and put it between a buttery and crisp bun. The best part however, is definitely the chili. It's the hearty, stick to your bones type of chili with thick with chunks of beans and beef (not ground beef, actual chunks of beef, beef)! I also like to add a little freshly chopped onions, and it comes w/ a side of chips, but I'm not big on chips, so I opt for their coleslaw. Their coleslaw is exactly how I like it, it's not overly sweet, they don't add too much mayo either, and my hubby loves it on their BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich. We dined in for the first time about a month ago, and have been ordered something every week since. Definitely found a little gold nugget w/ this place. The neighborhood isn't the nicest or the best, but Mark's adds that little touch of class T-Ville is in desperate need of, hopefully others will follow suit down there! Really great restaurant! In fact I think I might swing by there again today. They're truly excellent!

Not bad local diner, little pricy…read more Came here because it's one of the few breakfast spots I've yet to try. Made the trek and found a small diner at the end of a strip. It's a homey spot, lots of seating and the staff was very friendly. I opted for the Irish Benedict, so I can try their hash and their eggs. Food came quickly, I took my pics then took my bites. The eggs were poached well, hollandaise is creamy and rich, English muffins toasted and buttered, and the hash was a little gummy and mushy. Whatever they mixed with it made the texture not so great. For 18 bucks, it was mostly executed right but stumbled on the one element that increased the price point. As an eggs Benedict, it was good but pricy for what you get. For the area, it's a solid diner spot. It's good, but just a little high for the quality.

Sophie, our waitress, greeted and seated us. BTW, the joint was jumping at 9:40. Angelina's makes their own CBH, which is always a plus. So, I opted for a CBH omelet w rye toast and home fries. Chuckles had a western omelet; Manic Mike two eggs over w ham steak, potatoes, and rye; finally, my fried Crash Test Dummy Ron had a Belgian waffle, real(!) maple syrup, blueberries, and a side of sausage links (4). Food came quickly considering the crowd. Sophie kept us over caffeinated while we waited. The interested thing about the omelets is that the cook adds CBH (or western ingredients, in Chuckles' case) to the top, in addition to the inside. My omelet was excellent. My only quibble - the toast was more like warm bread than toast. Polling the crowd produced an average of 4 stars, coincidentally my rating. I am definitely a fan.

Mon to Sat they open at 5am. I was only 10 minutes away from 6 but I figured they look like a place I'd want to eat at anyway and fate brought me to this awesome establishment. Upon entering it's not too bright and not too dark especially for this hour. The place looks immaculately clean. It's your typical diner feel just a little more modernish with the color scheme inside. Two breakfast bars and the rest booths and tables. Round stools at the bar for seating. The waitress greeted me and I just sat at the breakfast bar. I got a a coffee to start, nice med - dark roast. Not burnt and tasted freshly made, good quality Java to wake you up. Better than Dunkin could offer lol. For my breakfast I decided on the Crazy Good Hash and a side of sausage (they offer links or patties, I love my patties so that's what I chose). First bite was just amazing. I wasn't sure what to expect .. I low key was just thinking it would be the stuff from a can like other diners use but no.. you will not get that here. It was legit fresh corned beef... griddled with hashed potatoes .. it was light and flavorful, crispy crust and soft interior. Not drowning in sodium like the can stuff. The corned beef really just melted in your mouth, so juicy and tender just like a properly cooked corned beef should taste. It was just amazing and I was completely blown away. Paired together with high quality eggs and perfectly toasted with butter toast, there was not one bite left. I couldn't stop eating it. I was almost sad with my last bite .. but I was about to explode anyway since it was a very generous portion. I'm just a glutton when it comes to good savory foods. The sausage patties were great too .. nice crispy and juicy, good flavor profile, not herby like some .. I don't like those but these were great. Please come give this place a try and go for the Crazy Good Hash and Eggs. You won't regret it.

"And there's fire on the mountain Lightening in the air…read moreGold in them hills and it's waiting for me there" (Marshall Tucker Band) Fire On the Mountain has one of the most unique menus I've ever encountered. Seriously, where else have you ever seen breakfast quesadillas, catfish and grits, cheesecake cornbread waffles, smoked brisket hash, deep fried pork ribs, catfish, mushroom, and alligator tacos, and a Puerto Rican Rice Bowl all happily living in the same menu's neighborhood? And then, the icing on the cake was our server - a charismatic and uber-friendly gent named Bromwell who lights up the room with his personality. He made my list of the five greatest servers I interacted with this year. The restaurant's location is as unusual as its menu. You'll find it occupying the front space at the Suffield Commons Senior Living Apartments! Yup, as you walk through the restaurant and out their back door, you actually enter a common space for the housing complex. The restaurant itself has two dining rooms with booths, tables, and chairs and a bar with dining room chairs. That eclectic menu is chock full of breakfast, lunch, and dinner choices with Mexican and barbecue flairs. We were there for lunch and ordered two things. The first was an enormous Cheese Quesadilla ($9.35) with pork ($3.12) on a grilled flour tortilla served with sour cream and pico. It was a thing of beauty, cut into five thick wedges loaded with smoked pork. Our second item was a Caesar Salad (Half size for $6.23) with a side of smoked brisket ($9.36). I passed on the croutons and Caesar dressing in lieu of barbecue sauce as my dressing. I gotta tell you, the brisket was GREAT, a big serving of tender and juicy smoked beef cut into four slabs that must have totaled close to a half pound. We loved everything about Fire On the Mountain and agreed that we need to return for a proper breakfast when we are out that way or making a morning airport run. PRO TIP The restrooms are located in the housing complex's common space I described earlier/ Just exit the restaurant by the door in the rear dining room, and you're just about there.

Made the trek to this little diner to give them a try. The space is small but spacious. Lots of two seat tables and a small bench. Place is cash only, so make sure to hit up an atm before going. Servers were very attentive and friendly. Made multiple coffee refill runs. The coffee is diner coffee, functional but not great. I opted for their French toast bake special, cause I'm a sucker for a good lost bread. No ice cream, so had to do with whipped cream. Had real maple syrup at an upcharge, but could get a half sized version for cheaper. Food came out quickly, took pics and dug in. The bacon was crispy, only a couple lighter spots towards the ends. Whipped cream was from a can, functional. The actual French toast was very well done. Custardy, not very sweet but consistency was on point. Berries were good, but not very noticeable in a full bite. The syrup really helped in getting that true French toast bite of savory, sweet, and warm custardy tastiness. Needed a little more cinnamon and nutmeg in the egg soak to give it flavor throughout, and coated the fruit in sugar or lemon juice to amplify the fruit sweetness. Price wise, was pretty affordable. Everything came out to about 17 bucks which was a good price for the quality offered. As a meal, it was a rather tasty dish for the price. It knows it's a diner style place and they take the same corner cuts that diners usually take. But this makes them a very good choice for locals to get a good breakfast. So I don't trek here for their offerings, but for the area they are a great choice.

The other thing that I'll mention )just because it seems to be a theme at every restaurant that I've been to around 8 PM in this town), everybody seems to be far more concerned about walking out the door two minutes before they're supposed to close is the impression they leave on guests now walk in 20 or 30 minutes before closing time.
