My wife had a craving for rice during our last night in Connecticut, so stopped into this strip…read moremall restaurant near our hotel for an early dinner. The food (taste and value) and service was solid. It's an interesting name (like others, knew a 'Jimmy Chen' while growing up...Chen being a very popular surname in China and in the Chinese community in the U.S.). They have a good website, so was able to scout the menu before arriving and knew that we had missed their lunch specials. It wasn't too busy inside, and there was plenty of parking in the small strip mall (Sophia's Plaza). We were greeted immediately, led to a booth, and offered a free appetizer of deep fried wonton skins with sweet/sour sauce (appreciated since not a common practice on the West Coast). Chen's is marketed as Asian Cuisine which in this part of the country means Chinese (Chinese-American classics) and Japanese (sushi and bento) with a little bit of Thai (Pad Thai and Pineapple fried rice). We were too late to take advantage of the lunch menu special ($9.25 or $10.25 during 11:00 - 3:00), but Jimmy's offers the same as combo specials (anytime but priced higher at $13.25). Our server stated that the lunch option does have (slightly) smaller portions, and doesn't include the egg roll. We ordered two plates, shared between the two of us: C4 Beef Broccoli and C19 Garlic Shrimp, each coming with a big, fat egg roll well deep fried and a rich (greasy with chinese bbq pork) fried rice. The garlic sauce was really good, not too garlicky (noticing how a 'garlic' Chinese dish has quite a bit less garlic than a 'garlic' Italian dish). I loved that they used 5 really jumbo shrimps, each big enough to be split into 4 bites. The vegetables (broccoli, peppers, water chestnuts, and celery) were sliced thin and cooked well (though didn't have the distinctive wok-fried smokiness that i love). The beef dish wasn't as good...decent sauce and plenty of broccoli, but the sliced beef wasn't good...very mushy, almost parboiled, similar to the versions at buffets or a Panda Express. There is a full service bar inside, along with a sushi bar manned by a chef. For us, service was very good, with our waters being constantly refilled. Payment was done via clover (though done away from the table). It was a good last meal during our trip.

Between the mold they have growing in their kitchen and the horrible customer service , new china is probably the only decent place in Enfield to order from. My usual to go to though is the buffalo chicken wrap. They have the option too to make it deluxe w/ adding fries. Only $1 more. If you want curly fries, it's $2 more. Their traditional fries are steak fries. Both their curly and traditional fries are amazing. I'm not much of a fry person. I'll have just a few and get bored of them. Not here! They offer a Greek style pizza. I've had my fair share of CT Greek style pizzeria's, and although I like their other food a lot - the pizza doesn't impress me as much. I personally feel other Greek pizza's are much better. Not sure exactly what it is. It might be the sauce. Not a not of flavor in the pizza compared to other places. Kind of bland. However, if I'm craving pizza, and a group of us is ordering delivery from here, I'll order it. Their delivery time is amazing. Today we placed an order at 12:05. It was in our office at 12:25. They literally just made it and delivered it. The food was still hot, like it would be if it was served to you at a restaurant! This wasn't the first time it happened either! I've noticed when ever they quote us a time, it's about 1/2 of the time they say. Only 1 time did it ever take longer than expected, and that was out of a couple dozen times. We were actually surprised, and hoped the driver was okay! Very unlike them. The delivery drivers are also very nice too. Everyone on the phone is always pleasant. One of the girls even knows my typical order! They do have a minimum of $10 for delivery and for credit card orders. I've only been inside the restaurant twice. Very small place. Only about 4 tables. Not a place to sit down with friends. Maybe just a quick bite on your way home, or doing errands.

Guy shows up a minute later and says it's only him but the food is ready; it wasn't. No garlic spread for the garlic bread so no garlic bread. Chicken in salad was barely cooked, probably because he was actually cooking it while we waited for our food. Most of it was raw and had to be thrown out. No peppers in an antipasto and no olives in the Greek salad (which had the raw chicken making the lettuce inedible). If this place survives past February I'll be surprised.

Not bad local diner, little pricy…read more Came here because it's one of the few breakfast spots I've yet to try. Made the trek and found a small diner at the end of a strip. It's a homey spot, lots of seating and the staff was very friendly. I opted for the Irish Benedict, so I can try their hash and their eggs. Food came quickly, I took my pics then took my bites. The eggs were poached well, hollandaise is creamy and rich, English muffins toasted and buttered, and the hash was a little gummy and mushy. Whatever they mixed with it made the texture not so great. For 18 bucks, it was mostly executed right but stumbled on the one element that increased the price point. As an eggs Benedict, it was good but pricy for what you get. For the area, it's a solid diner spot. It's good, but just a little high for the quality.

Sophie, our waitress, greeted and seated us. BTW, the joint was jumping at 9:40. Angelina's makes their own CBH, which is always a plus. So, I opted for a CBH omelet w rye toast and home fries. Chuckles had a western omelet; Manic Mike two eggs over w ham steak, potatoes, and rye; finally, my fried Crash Test Dummy Ron had a Belgian waffle, real(!) maple syrup, blueberries, and a side of sausage links (4). Food came quickly considering the crowd. Sophie kept us over caffeinated while we waited. The interested thing about the omelets is that the cook adds CBH (or western ingredients, in Chuckles' case) to the top, in addition to the inside. My omelet was excellent. My only quibble - the toast was more like warm bread than toast. Polling the crowd produced an average of 4 stars, coincidentally my rating. I am definitely a fan.
