Daughter in law wanted to try this since Spudly's is closed on the weekends. Small shop located in a strip mall on Manhattan Blvd. Walking in, I wasn't impressed. It smelled like old fish. Once we ordered we waited quite a while even though there wasn't anybody else in the place. We got the crawfish loaded potato and thankfully asked for the cheese sauce on the side because when we tasted it, it was horrible. The potato did have a lot of cheese and butter but only about 8-10 small small crawfish tails. My daughter in law ordered the crab potato and corn & crab bisque. They also weren't impressed. My grandson ordered a hamburger and wasn't impressed. He usually demolishes his burgers but left half of it. I'm pretty sure they microwave everything. The fountain drinks are very overpriced. A small 12 oz is 2.50, 16 oz 3.25 and 32 oz 3.75. Our potato, large drink and side of less than 2 oz sour cream came out to $23 plus change. We eat out every Saturday night with the family and are used to paying but felt that 16.99 for the potato and the drink prices were way to high. One and done for this place. read more

Unimpressed. Pricey microwaved food ugh!! OMG, does anyone actually cook anymore. I mean I thought I saw a a grill back there but instead they put my chicken in the microwave. I will absolutely never eat here again. The chicken on the potato was under seasoned and tasteless. The taco meat tasted weird and not fresh and happily thrown away. The potatoes make for a huge meal. This is definitely a spot where you could order one and share with a companion. Sharing also makes sense because the spuds are a bit pricey. Plenty of inside seating, however, it's just a basic set up. Likely more comfortable to grab your spuds to take back home or to the office. Also, depending on how much you like liquid "cheese" topping, I'd recommend having it served in a side container so you can control how much is necessary. Customer Service is really good. I was helped by a younger women at the register, very nice. I ordered a seafood spud and though it looked good the food didn't taste as good. The spud was missing flavor. My spud has crawfish, shrimp and crab and it was still bland. Also the shrimp is frozen cooked pink shrimp. Maybe if the ingredients were fresher it would be better. The spinach & artichoke was similar to a dip served on a potato topped with cheese and chives. I was craving a baked potato for lunch, and a coworker suggested I head up the street to the Spud Spot. They have quite the extensive menu of toppings that you can choose (they also have poor boys and snoballs if that's what your aim is). They do have a sign saying they may have imported seafood for toppings, but otherwise, they have all kinds of meat, cheese, and veggies to choose from for your potato. I really only wanted the basics (like cheese and bacon), and it was pricey, like $11, but when I received it and this thing was the size of a small football! Found on Yelp Ordered "Dat Cajun" spud based on reviews and the ingredients listed on the menu. It was a big potato but not huge. The sauce was spicy as the menu says. The staff was a bit rude while taking orders. Adding extras must be an issue for some customers. Added extra scallions (they called them chives and they are not the same thing, related yes but different) and she said there was a charge. I said fine. My friend ordered her potato and added a different protein and an extra cheese and she said they are extra. The tone she kept saying it in made us respond with we know things cost extra and if we ask for it we are willing to pay for it. The potato was filling and it was spicy and ultimately had to pour some of the oil off to enjoy the potato the ingredients were drowned in it. You can tell by the photo I will add. You can sub for the sweet potato version if they have any in stock if you're into the healthier stuff. From the potato choices, you can either have the half or full version. First, I don't think anything in this place comes in a small size because both the soft drink and potato were among the largest I've ever seen in my life. Second, I am emotionally and physically exhausted from eating this potato and I only got a third of the way through. It was delicious and SO filling. Any potato can easily be split between two people. They put enough of the fillings in it and there was still enough potato to go around.
