Went for a birthday dinner. We had a reservation but of course we had to wait for a certain amount of the party to arrive to be seated. Sat at the bar and ordered drinks while we waited. Two others joined us. The bartender wasn't cry enthusiastic about being at work nor was she was very welcoming. The food was overall good. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals without complaint. We sat outside on the patio and it was a little chilly but not too bad. The server was good and was nice assisting with the cake when we sang happy birthday. It's a strong pass for me! So we went on New Year's Eve and got oysters, wings, and spinach dip. 2 of the oysters were burnt but it was super busy and our waiter was very pleasant so we look past it. Fast forward and I went back Saturday to try an entree.....and I should've just kept driving. The place was near empty so I sat at the bar. Service wasn't great at all for an empty place. The smoked salmon dip was just ok but very heavy on the mayo. BEWARE the brussel sprouts come sprinkled with bacon although the menu doesn't say that. And lastly the steak frites were the worst I've had. The steak was cold and I've never had such chewy steak when cooked medium, my jaw started hurting. I visited this restaurant a few years ago a few times and enjoyed the Delmonico Ribeye (boneless). We looked forward to doing so last night with our Mother as our guest. Let me say the service was Horrible. We waited 25 minutes before anyone took our drink order. In fact, two couples left because we waited so long for service. And, the bad part is that the restaurant was not full. Only one side was open and it had at most only 8 tables of patrons. The manager stood around doing nothing. The service people frequently congregated at the bar while we waited for service. Finally someone arrived to take our order. Last night they were out of most steaks including the Delmonico, with exception to the market rate Bone-in Ribeye $80 and Tomahawk steak $100. We gave our entire order at one time. It took another 20 minutes to receive appetizers and our drinks. We got the spinach cheese dip with chips. We usually get extra chips. But could not last night--no service person returned for another 25 minutes. So there we sat--drinks empty, no extra chips for dip. Finally the service person arrived with our hot plates for our steak (bone-in ribeye). We requested refills for our sodas. Another 25 minutes passed--our hot plates are cold. Finally our food arrived to our cold steak plates. Still waiting on refills. And, the loaded mash potatoes were cold. Steak was good, cold plate. Finally we receive our refills. No other interaction with service until the bill arrived. But the very upsetting thing was other patrons received their food timely, multiple service people assisted them bringing food and drinks so they were serviced timely. But we had the one service person. We spent over $170 last night on food. You would expect better service, better ambiance, and better quality of food. The service person kept apologizing when we finally saw her for slow service due to low staff. But, from all the standing and leaning I saw the issue was not low staff, it was lazy staff from manager down. The manager's appearance said more "Applebee's" than $170 steak house, with wrinkled clothes, dirty shoes, and not working at all. While it is not my usual style not to tip, I could not tip such poor service. I think this place could really do well, but it needs much better staff and management. Revamp these prices, it has a Ruth's Chris price list, with a Chili's vibe. And, work on getting food and service more timely, no standing and leaning at the bar for no one. Went for an early weekday meal. (4ish) Hardly anyone eating at this hour, so it was quiet. Promptly seated and Haydee was our server. Throughout the meal the service ranged from attentive to "just checking." Husband had a Neopolitan ($13) drink from the bar, which he was warned was very sweet, and it was. :) Ordered the deviled egg app ($6); tasty but a touch on the salty side. Surf & Turf ($38) med rare came out perfect, as did the Redfish St Charles ($32), though both were very salty. Between the eggs and our entree, we ordered the smoked chicken wing app ($15) because we were starving and there was a wait while our food was cooked to order. They came out after our entrees, so I tried one - amazing! - and boxed the rest. I say amazing because of the smoky flavor, the skins were cooked and the sauce was on the side. Lemon ice box pie ($10) to go was dessert, and it was delish! Not a 5-star because the MOD came by to check on us, and we told him food was salty. He seemed perplexed and walked off to the next table. We decided if we ever returned - and I don't think we will - we would just have them cook without seasonings. read more

we were in the Westbank and looking for a place to try and noticed legacy kitchens steak and chop so decided to check it out. we started off with the spinach dip - the dip was good but the chips were amazing! some of the best chips that we've tried in the city. we then got a cheeseburger, seafood platter and mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. the mashed potatoes were decent, the teriyaki sauce on the sprouts was really good, the burger was cooked well and had good flavor, and the seafood had big seafood and plenty of it. overall good flavor and good portion size ambiance of the restaurant was nice and service was good. overall a good experience read more

I can only report on Saturday half price bottle special as we had dinner in the French Quarter. We were all dressed for white linen night (8/2/24), but it was really too hot for hot women (old with hot flashes) that are too hot. My hostess and ex-sister-in-law suggested having a cocktail at a place near her home. We were pleasantly surprised to see that a Schramsberg Champagne was on the menu for half price on Saturday! Was it a coincidence that we were recently on cruise in which we were affiliated with the Schramsberg/Davies group‍anyway we ordered the Schramsberg bottle which as it turned out was not a blanc du noir as noted on the menu but a 2015 blanc du blanc at half price $42.50. Since we had already had 3 Sazerac each before visiting this establishment, we enthusiastically enjoyed/guzzled this bottle down. Came here for a large group graduation celebration. The restaurant was closed to walk ins due to a staff shortage, but I liked not being in a crowded restaurant. Our server was great! For the life of me, I can't remember her name but she wore dark rimmed glasses so if management is reading this ..she was awesome! There is a Sunday steak special not on the menu but it is listed on their website so you can order it. It's the 6 Oz filet with salad, potatoes and broccoli for under 30 bucks. Baked potato was burnt on the outside. Lobster was a little dry, butter definitely came in handy. Steak was done medium rare like requested, but the outside was crispy/ like very well done on the outside.. & a little too peppery. Drink not pictured: watermelon crawl; flavor was there but watered down, still tasted like a watermelon. Whiskey sour was made with Jack Daniel's, I did not request a specific whiskey to be used but I should have asked what it was made with. Personally not a JD fan. I went here on Friday 8/25/23 for dinner. This was my first time dining here. I decided to start with the Neopolitan cocktail, made with Crown vanilla & strawberry purée. It was served with chocolate swirls. I don't do sweet drinks but I enjoyed this rich cocktail. I looked at the menu but I decided to enjoy 3 courses for $40. My starter was the skillet crawfish cornbread. It was yummy & fresh with butter on top. The portion was big too. Then my entree was the steak frites with aioli sauce. It was a good cut of meat & it was tender, & the aioli sauce on top makes this dish served with shoe string fries. The portion once again was big & I like that, because I have a meal for later. I regret not taking a picture of my entree. It was truly worth the price. For dessert I got the apple crumble with vanilla ice cream & it was delicious. It was also a good size portion. I had my leftovers for lunch the next day & the crawfish corn bread was even better, because the seasoning settled. I will definitely dine there again. When we arrived we found out they were taking reservations only and would have to wait about 90 minutes. The manager told us to wait a few. In case there were cancellations. Didn't look good but he was able to put us in private seating room for our party of six. That was really nice. The food was excellent We had the Steak Frites which was very well cooked and tender. We ordered from the Coolinary menu for $40 We also had crawfish cornbread skillet which was wonderful. Wedge salad was also very good and topped of off with apple crumble a la mode. Usually HH food menus are just whatever, but this one ain't too shabby. I believe I've tried almost everything on their HH menu + a few items off the menu. Rib tips + fries - honestly, this is just maybe half a rack of ribs + fries underneath the ribs that make them kinda soggy. The ribs are fall off the bone. But the fries should be served separately or not underneath the ribs bc they get real greasy like. Smoked wings - 8 to an order. Man. These are pretty good. I like them better than the smoked wings at Hooters. They're super juicy. Fried oyster Caesar salad - they shave Parmesan cheese on top. I believe I got 4 small fried oysters. My husband and I go once a month to review restaurants we have never eaten and Legacy has raised the bar. The staff was amazing and attentive. The food was the best food I've eaten in years. My husband got the seafood platter and when I saw I haven't eaten fried fish in about 10 years I broke that streak today. I usually hate fish bc I can taste the silver skin. Needless to say, I enjoyed every bite of my husband fish. His shrimp was perfectly seasoned and we got the truffle fries and an extra side of fresh hand battered onion ring I got the chicken parm. The sauce was perfectly seasoned, the noodles were cooked to perfection and the chicken was mouth watering. We also had the char broiled oysters. I KID YOU NOT, The best I have EVER eaten. I ordered my steak well done and cut in smaller pieces like I always do. I can't eat raw steak.I spend money on legacy literally once a week for the same exact thing. While visiting New Orleans, we decided to eat at this restaurant because I wanted a steak. I started with gumbo, my wife had crawfish étouffée. My gumbo tasted ok. It was mild in flavor, which is ok, but it was barely warm. The wife liked her étouffée and said it was warmer than my gumbo. I had the 8 oz sirloin and fried. It was undercooked initially, they resolved that. Wife had the trout almandine which she thoroughly enjoyed. With some increased attention by the kitchen staff, this place should be a great location for a meal. The waitress was excellent. The environment was chilly, bring a jacket, but otherwise peaceful and pleasant. I think it is worth revisiting. Perhaps we caught them on an off day. Very small salad with cold, dry, tasteless, shredded chicken. I will leave it at that. My wife, two sons and one of their girlfriends order several different things. Overall they enjoyed what they had, but wasn't blown away. The service was very slow. I know that most places are short of workers, but the restaurant was empty. Our drinks were empty for a while, so we had to ask another server for refills. The best part of the evening was the deserts. Make sure you get the warm apple pie with ice cream on top. We had not been to Legacy Steak &Chop for some time so we went for lunch on Sunday (4/28/24) and will not be back. There were only about four tables occupied upon our arrival and may have number six at anyone time during our visit. The onion ring appetizer was good, but we had to find the server and ask for plates. The Wedge salad was terrible - the half head of lettuce was bigger than the plate and I had to cut it in half and put it to the side. The Smokey bacon dressing was watery and void of taste. I had to get up and ask our server for salt and pepper (None at any of the tables). My wife's Caesar salad was OK. The sirloin steak entrees arrived and I had to get up again to find the server and request steak knives. The steaks were over seasoned and under cooked. Hers was supposed to be medium (was medium rare) and mine was supposed to be med rare (was rare). By this time we were so disappointed we were anxious to leave and chose not to send them back. We ate what we could and asked for the check. The server was nice but obviously not well trained - management's fault. Now we know why the place was empty at what is usually a busy time for most restaurants. Awarded one star only due to the politeness of the server and the onion rings. read more

First time trying this location and it's been there for years, I never bothered stopping by, I always go to the one on tchoupitoulas. Anyways the visit was absolutely everything! The lemon drops were $5 (Thursday's special) and delicious btw ! Only thing I didn't like is that there was ice in it (weird right?). The redfish was cooked to perfection and seasoned well the asparagus was delicious! Slight crunch but soft enough to enjoy every bite! I definitely give them a 10 out of 10 for this visit. We read the reviews before coming here and weren't really sure what to expect but we actually had a pretty good experience having dinner here. When we got there, there weren't many people trying to be seated and we didn't have a reservation but was seated very quickly. I ordered the loaded duck nachos and spinach and artichoke dip for myself - the dip was good but the nachos were a little more like loaded bean nachos with some duck. Wish that the nachos had more duck but it was still good to me. My fiancé had the Delmonico ribeye because it was the biggest size cut but it was so fatty and delicious. Some reviews we saw said that this place overcooks their steaks often, which would explain why our server asked him to cut his ribeye open to see if it was cooked right for him and it was. We asked for medium rare and we got medium rare. We've heard different reviews about their food not tasting good or that the food was good but service was bad but we personally had a pleasant time there. I can't really say much for the rush of people that came after us though. The host was having a hard time seating people and there was a constant crowd at the door so I suggest you make an appointment if you wanna eat there - we just happened to get lucky. The atmosphere of the place was really chill and casual but I do have a suggestion for the decor - y'all should probably have some benches for the entrance area for people who have to wait. read more
