In my opinion, I think this is the best restaurant in St. Bernard. Great variety of dishes and Karen is a wonderful bartender.

When you go, ask for Frank! Best server, hands down! I arrived during happy hour and the dirty martini did not let me down! I also tried the spinach dip and stuffed mushrooms but the sweet heat fried shrimp was the show stopper. It came drenched in a spicy/tangy sauce that I'll remember months from now! I also had the Catfish Bienvenu. It arrived sizzling in butter *chef's kiss* with a loaded baked potato on the side. Everything was hot and nice sized portions. Celebrated my grandma's birthday here Sunday after church. I've been here a few times before and I'd say it's one of the nicer sit down restaurants to get food from in the parish. We made reservations, but it wasn't too packed to say it was a Sunday. Once seated we received complementary French bread. Our waitress was nice and very attentive to detail as we had about 16 people. Some items we ordered were the fried chicken, loaded baked potato, catfish bienvenue, crab cakes, fried fish, and the crawfish Orleans. Thankfully, everything came out hot. My cousins who had the fried foods enjoyed it, my aunt liked the gumbo, and my mom enjoyed her crab cakes. My catfish bienvenue and my aunt's crawfish Orleans could have had some more seasoning. We also brought a cake to the restaurant for my grandma, and they told us ahead of time they do charge a $10 fee. Overall my grandma enjoyed her birthday lunch. read more

The food was a hit or miss here. The crawfish balls were really good, but the "fall off the bone" ribs were fried and not falling off the bone. The shrimp was pretty good and real catfish is served, but it was not seasoned well. The Mac and cheese looked amazing, but lacked much flavor. This is a really nice spot, but very expensive for its location. Then they charge a non cash fee, as if we are not in the year 2024 following a pandemic. Overall, it was definitely not worth the price at all and I will not be returning. However, staff is amazing and both welcoming and helpful. read more

Absolutely horrible service. It's raining so I placed my order on Uber Eats. I normally put in the notes Loaded baked potato with cheese. I never have issues. My food arrives and all I have is a potato with cheese. I call to discuss and oh, the kitchen was confused. No apology. No when you order next time this or that. Just, the kitchen was confused and there's nothing we can do about it! We spend serious money with them. $200 a month and there horrible service list them a consistent customer. Service and treatment are a lost art in restaurants. They are a hole in the wall where that is concerned from Karen to Charles. Not worth it. read more

Ah! Ms Rosie is a gem. Very helpful explaining a very extensive menu. What a surprise in da' parish especially for a casino restaurant. The double cut grilled pork chop was juicy and cooked to perfection. Fried catfish plate for kid couldn't be faulted. He ate the whole thing. Eggplant and angel hair with crawfish cream sauce was good, just too much sauce. Soft shell crab was seasoned and fried to perfection. We were lucky to have the dining room to ourselves. I forgot to take a picture but we received 7 with one order. My family enjoyed them and were pleasantly surprised by the taste. *For our entree we order a Seafood platter. The menu says it feeds two but it was well enough for 3 adults, and we still took some home. I loved the fish, oysters, onion rings and shrimp. It also comes with toast, stuffed crab and fries. *The menu had options for any and everything you could want. Steaks, burgers, chicken, pasta , salads, seafood, tacos , desserts . You would not leave here disappointed . We also received complimentary garlic bread Customer service : Our waitress was a nice older lady that did a great job making sure our drinks never got to low, she kept us updated about the status of our food. It wasn't anything that we had to ask for she handled it. All of the staff I came in contact with were really nice and welcoming . Restaurant Appearance: The restaurant shares a building with a casino, but there's a outside entrance to where you never have to even see the casino side. It was a really clean restaurant, kid of had a slight upscale look to it . The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Don't attend here if it's for a birthday and you have a cake. I walked in with a cake and was told I would be charged $10 extra if I didn't return it to my vehicle. The older lady waitress had an attitude and said "it's in the menu". And it was. The music played in the background had curse words. The young male waiter who waited on my table did a great job. Food was okay but over priced. If I ever attend there again, it will be by invite only and not choice. I've been living in Chalmette for two years and didn't even know about this place! I thought it was just a casino and didn't know they had a restaurant separate from the casino. I had the Applewood bacon cheeseburger and fries and it was the best cheeseburger I've had in years! I love my cheeseburgers and eat them everywhere in New Orleans area and this one was so good I got the same thing the following night. I haven't been able to finish all the French fries they give you either times. My daughter had the Chicken Caesar Panini and she said it was really good. I want to try some other things on the menu but having a hard time not staying with their amazing burger! It's also a very nice place to take your significant other for Chalmette/Arabi with a nice bar. I also saw they have a great salad bar everyday. read more

The atmosphere is family friendly I promise it seems like everyone here knows everyone here lol. The service is superb they are very friendly and attentive. I was really optimistic, given the reviews, but this place fell short. I got mozzarella sticks, a ribeye steak with "fried garlic" and mac n cheese side, and chocolate cake for dessert. Unfortunately, the mozzarella sticks gave me the impression they were frozen as they were pretty dense and very uniform looking to be a home-made product. The steak was over 30 dollars, and while the size was generous (16oz), the quality was sub-par. It had a LOT of connective tissue and fat, and the meat was generally pretty tough and had to be cut small to eat without excessive chewing. The "fried garlic" topper was basically translucent/white and mostly minced raw garlic. Finally, the steak was FAR under-seasoned and I had to add my own salt. This is the most basic error of a beginning culinary student. This was the most disappointing part, because I can EASILY prepare my own steak FAR better than this restaurant and that's paying retail prices for ingredients. If I can cook a better steak than the restaurant for 2/3 the price, then that's a failure in my mind. I recommend they source better meat, trim the steaks better prior to cooking, SALT THE MEAT, and with the "garlic topper", I'd be shaving thin slices of garlic and ACTUALLY frying them golden and hard before calling it "fried garlic". I honestly think this restaurant is trying to get away with serving a large portion of lower-quality meat, and hoping that the size of the cut, and the vast quantity of butter they serve it sitting in, will make up for the lack of quality in the ingredients and lack of expertise in preparation. The baked mac n cheese side was an appropriate size for a side, but it was a trainwreck. First, the noodles were cooked to hell. Secondly, it was under-salted, and finally the raw cheese added into it was basically cooked to the point of being hard. It's pretty simple to make baked mac n cheese. First you UNDERCOOK the noodles specifically, because they will continue cooking in the oven. So you cook hard/al dente noodles, then make a simple roux/bechamel/sauce mornay, and add to the noodles with some raw cheese and cream cheese/sour cream/egg mixed into it all. Then top with bread crumbs/carmelized onions/bacon/etc, and bake for about 30 minutes. Then you end up with a firm but cooked noodle, a rich sauce and FLAVOR. This was just a pile of mushy noodles, no salt, and one-dimensional cheese flavor. Lastly, the chocolate cake was probably the best part, but honestly, it struck me as a generic chocolate cake you could get in a grocery store's bakery section. I almost NEVER leave a review and nothing in this world is worse to me than an "elite yelper", but I felt I had to provide honest feedback to a place I feel is rated FAR higher than my experience leads me to believe it deserves. For a single person to pay over $65 for a meal I could have prepared better for $35 myself, is an important data point for someone to consider prior to patronizing this place. I'm sorry to the proprietor if this is harsh, but this is my honest feedback. read more

Went to this establishment on 06/07/2018 with 8 co-workers. Everything was excellent. The parking, atmosphere, staff, and the food. The food was wonderful. We had onion rings, french fries, thin fried catfish and shrimp with jambalya, the largest soft shell crab i've ever seen, veal and chicken parmesan, etc... This is my favorite restaurant in St. Bernard ! Are usually get the crawfish egg plant Orleans over angel hair pasta. I have gotten the country fried steak with homemade gravy and that is quite spectacular also. The salads here are really good you can make your own and put whatever you want on it !
