    Chicken parmesan and garlic bread

Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Kenner. Always great food and great service. Nice atmosphere and great parking. Had my usual Chicken parmesan, I ask for red sauce on side, it comes with tasty garlic bread and side salad.

    grilled red fish with etouffee.

Food was good just toooo salty for my taste. Brought home Brad pudding and cheese cake. Yum. Love Mr. Ed's

Meatballs were definitely homemade and seasoned very well. The red sauce was a little too sweet for my liking. Calamari was so fresh and delicious, a must try. Hubby had the fried chicken and said it was some of the best. Jo, server, was absolutely fantastic. So sweet and very attentive.

On yesterday I had an unfortunate experience at Mr. Eds Kenner. We walked into the new entrance now located in the front. Upon entering we received the you're not welcome stares by patrons....some will know what I mean when I say this (it was a very cold reception but not by the immediate staff at the door). I am trying to be tactful. The staff continued to have smiles and immediately seated us. It was busy and most tables were full when we entered. By the time we sat the last two tables were also taken. We waited about 5 mins for our waitress Ashley. She took our order and was super patient with us. We noticed a gentleman in all purple asking all of the tables around us if they were ok and if they needed anything. Thought it was slightly off putting that he failed to ask my husband and I. My husband said it's because we don't have our food yet. I said ok. We received our food and We began to eat by unrolling our silverware only to find dried food on the fork. Just nasty! At this time the gentleman in purple (Joey) returned to ask if they were ok and this time came even closer to us by going past us to the table behind us and the table beside us and it was clear that he intentionally meant to not check on us because this time I looked at him giving him a chance to say something and he looked me dead in my face with a smirk on his face to let me know. So my husband called him out and he came and said that he didn't think that he overlooked us.....I was so humiliated at this time. All of this is happening in a full restaurant that was not loud. At this time Ashley returned with our now clean Silverware and we began to divulge as he walked away with her. We also noticed that the front of the house workers were young and caucasian and the kitchen was all black men. Could have been just that this day this is how the staff stacked up but I I been here on several occasions before covid and never saw diversity in the front of the house.... I want to get back to why we came to this restaurant: 1: The food is consistently good 2: We were in the area and wanted to eat With that alone I would have rated my visit a 5 star but to make someone who is spending their money in your establishment or one that you manage is the one star rating. I would feel much better if you just put up a sign saying who you wish not to patron your restaurant then I can patron those that want my money and presence. This is so unfortunate in this day in time. I could only imagine how the back of the house is treated. One it was time for my check I thought that it would be befitting that I ask my waitress name again and I let her know that we appreciated her and thanked her. The I let her know that I would mention her in my Yelp review! Her face lit up, she is truly a gem. Then we asked about the disrespectful gentleman and now he gets his feature also. We received our final check and now that Joey is aware that I would be writing a review he decided to come and give a half hearted apology. He could have made that apology when he was called out on his behavior earlier. If you want to be disrespected for your race then please by any means go to Mr. Eds Kenner. Get it together Mr. Ed this is 2021 not 1950. You never know who you are entertaining. Could be an angel!

In town for work and went for a late dinner. As I was in the area - Ordered an Old Fashioned that was solidly good but not great. That's okay - in my experience I have come to expect that most places don't make a great basic cocktail. I think that's why craft cocktail places have taken off because people have recognized that the art of making a fine cocktail is fading. I digress. So I didn't come here for the cocktails. But I did come here for dinner. Ordered another "classic" dish - which is always a crap shoot - and this one rolled up well: Trout Almandine with a very nice Meunière sauce - on the side - so you get to decide how much is applied. Accompanied by a nice steamed veg medley and some roasted potatoes - washed down with a glass of Pinot Grigio - it was nicely done.

Cod and service very good. Individual check not allowed. I won't go to any Mr. Ed's. Until individual checks allowed. Rather dumb policy.

I was arriving from Houston on a short trip and had been on the road for several hours and I decided to stop on my way in. It wasn't very crowded so parking was no problem. I was immediately seated and given a menu. I decided on fried catfish which cam with a small corn on the cob, some French bread and additionally coleslaw and potato salad. I had a Moscow mule type drink while I waited. My meal came out nice and hot and I immediately knew I couldn't eat all of this. The fish was crispy and the cold slaw was creamy . The service was excellent and my server even recommended a few dishes before I ordered but I had made up my mind before I sat down. Definitely a place for good seafood and there is a seafood market next door.

We were recommended to try Harbor seafood & oyster bar for oysters and softshell crabs, so I made…read morereservations for a party of 4, and they were ready with plenty of seats when we arrived. Pros: the food was fantastic! Softshell crabs were a bit on the small side, but it's understandably the end of the season. We loved that the batter was good so you could really appreciate them without the batter being overpowering. Their oyster sampler and chargrilled oysters were fantastic. The "crawfish" (large boiled shrimp instead because it's off season) bloody Mary was fantastic. Food came out quickly and portions were awesome. Cons: service needed work (yes, I brought it up while I was there, and the manager seemed very, very confused). Our waitress was very sweet, and checked on us often, but messed up our order several times. She accidentally duplicated one order, but different wait staff (& the young manager? who even splashed soup on one of our diners) brought the food to the table. I mentioned the error the moment they placed the food down. Despite explaining the error, the manager seemed super confused, and asked a couple of times what was wrong, before going to ask the waitress in front of us and pointing at the order paper. She seemed stressed, so we told her we'd keep the incorrect order (seafood platter instead of softshell platter) to not inconvenience her, but mentioned that we'd at least like them to correct one of the sides we really wanted to try (we'd ordered side salad & hush puppies, they gave us potato salad & harbor potatoes). I asked the manager if he could swap the incorrect side for the correct side. He seemed out of it and very confused and asked if we wanted him to take the whole order away, I said no, we just wanted the hush puppies side we originally ordered. He walked away, then came back and asked if we wanted a side of hush puppies and we said yes? (Because we had ordered a meal with hush puppies as our side). He said he'd bring us a side of hush puppies. Waitress comes over and apologizes and says the confusion was that she wrote "hp" for harbor potatoes AND hush puppies (doesn't explain how she mixed up a softshell crab platter with a seafood platter and a salad with ranch for potato salad). When I got the check, she charged us for the incorrect order AND added a side of hush puppies. I didn't ask them to correct the entire incorrect meal, but I asked why they charged us extra for the side they got wrong. The waitress said it's because we kept the incorrect side (I had asked the manager to swap them out, he didn't). She says she'll ask him about it, and I hear them arguing loudly in the back. She comes out upset and says he won't remove it, so she guesses she'll just have to pay for them herself. Just disappointed in how management handled a common food industry error and how they treated the waitress. I'm not sure if anything else was going on that night, but I'm happy to chat with more senior management since I couldn't find an email on their website.

Everything was great and had a lot of flavor, and we were pretty surprised by the size of the crawfish. I really enjoyed both flavors though if I had to pick, I would say the Viet Cajun was better and had more flavor. My table had four of us and we weren't able to finish everything. Five Stars. No notes. No regrets. Elastic waistband optional…read more From the moment you walk into StingRays, you don't feel like a customer -- you feel like you accidentally wandered into a place where people actually want you there. That's rare. That's sacred. That's New Orleans doing what New Orleans does best. Now let's talk about the menu. Not a menu. The menu. This thing has options for its options. You don't read it -- you negotiate with it. You make eye contact. You ask it questions about your life choices. So naturally, I start with a cup of gumbo. Listen... I've eaten gumbo all over New Orleans. I've had "legendary" gumbo. I've had "my grandma would slap you if you didn't like this" gumbo. This? By far the best gumbo in New Orleans. Balanced. Rich. Deep. The kind of gumbo that makes you pause mid-spoon and reassess past relationships. Then the chargrilled oysters showed up and New Orleans... we need to talk. This was hands-down the least messy, most flavorful, most dialed-in oyster experience I've had in the city. Sure, there are places that have put their stamp on being "the best in NOLA." Guess what, NOLA -- you've got competition. And I'm not talking "oh look, a new place opened, hope they make it." I'm talking about a business that's been around since 1997, survived a tech bubble, a hurricane (or three), a pandemic, inflation -- and is still turning out food and service like this. That's not luck. That's standards. Petty side note (but important): They serve Coca-Cola products. Not that over-sugared flat soda nonsense. Details matter. Now comes the main event: Zydeco Fish. Let me say this slowly so it sinks in properly: A fresh fillet of fish, butterflied, stuffed with crab meat dressing, deep fried (because joy), topped with a spicy shrimp cream sauce that could probably solve international conflicts. This dish doesn't just show up -- it arrives. Confident. Well-dressed. Knows it's good. Add a side of potato salad, which quietly steals the show like, "Oh, you thought I was just a side? That's adorable." Still got room? Try the key lime pie if you're a fan. And yes, I'm over-opinionated, so here's my take: Call your Aunt Regina. Tell her she can retire her recipe. Save her the stress of the next family reunion. Then go to StingRays, eat the pie, shake your head in disbelief that you ever considered eating elsewhere, and apologize to your friends and family for not bringing them sooner. Jamie was my server -- sweet like iced tea, patient with all my questions, and didn't oversell a thing. Just a calm, confident, "This is what we do." And they do it well. And here's the real kicker -- location. Right by the airport. Which means: * You don't have to gamble your flight time * You don't have to explain to your Uber driver why food matters more than punctuality * You can land, eat like royalty, and still make your gate without panic-sweating StingRays is comfort food without shortcuts, hospitality without fake smiles, and flavor without apology. If you're flying into or out of New Orleans and you skip this place, that's on you. Don't blame the city. Don't blame the plane. Blame your poor decision-making. Five stars all the way. I'd eat here again before my luggage even hits the carousel.
