Went to this establishment 5-8- 2026, was our first time (and probably our last). We approached the counter not knowing if we had to place our order there or sit at a table to be waited on, waited for a few minutes when a young lady came from the back and just looked at us so we ask if we order there or sit down then she replied Here in a whispering voice that we could barely hear. We ask the difference in the size of a small and large order of livers, and she again just looked at us, so is said just give us a large order and she walked away and went to the back to bag a to go order for someone else with saying a word to us. We waited at the counter a few minutes to give her the rest of our order and she didn't come back. So on that note we left. We had a very good meal at the Blue Hook. We tried the grilled fish served with rice and grilled veggies. We asked that the blacken the fish a little and it came out perfect. Rice (basmati) was delicious. The serving of grilled veggies was huge and very good. The restaurant is well appointed and pleasant. Service was nice. read more

Delicious fried food!! We stopped into this new place (2 weeks old) and I ordered the chicken wings. The worker told me about the Sunday special which offered more wings and fries for less price. Of course I got that one. My husband ordered the chicken tender and shrimp plate with fried cheese sticks. The chicken is well seasoned and delicious. The fries were not soggy and the oil tasted fresh. We ordered a side of catfish and it tasted fantastic , not muddy at all. The best part were the people that work there. My family and I went for lunch today. The food was pretty good, but full of salt/seasoning. It tasted like the salt containers top came off. If we do go a next time, we will ask for no salt/seasoning. My husband couldn't finish his burger, it was also very small. The interior of the restaurant was nice, decorated well. Initial impact walking in, okay ambiance-no who-rah. No improvements or upgrades have been done from when business was IHOP. Its a little turn offish. HOWEVER, reason minded that you have to give new small businesses a chance to get their money up to do such things, we were willing to give it a try, and was not disappointed. Service was fast and we are picky about taste, so when we indulged ourselves, it was like "okay, Blue Hook"! My husband had the grill fish & shrimp with rice and vegs while I had the shrimp, oyster, and wings. My husband rave and rave about the taste. He said it was on time with just enough kick with the seasoning and the yellow rice was the right choice of side item to go with it. A winner in his book! Myself, went straight to the wings, and me too was singing "winner winner chicken dinner". The taste was throughout the wing; not over fried just right and seasoning without ordering any tossed sauce. It was just plain fried wings! I had fried okra for my side and that too was not over fried and abundant. Now I would say the oystered were over fried for me, i like mines soft, and only forgot to request that at the time of ordering so i can't hold that against them. Tried this place for the first time last night. Arrived there at 6pm and not one single customer was inside. Wasn't sure if they were closed of if it was just not a good sign. I ordered from the kiosk as I walked in. Menu was pretty broad with options. After I placed my order the team member advised that they had no green tomatoes for the appetizer. So I had to order something else and got a partial refund. I ordered the fried mushrooms and a half shrimp half oyster poboy. The shrooms were way over battered which caused them to be soooo greasy. The poboy is very small for the price. The shrimp were like the mushrooms, they were way over battered. The oysters were small but actually had a good flavor. I needed to get some ketchup and the team member said they didn't have any so I had to pretty much eat a dry sandwich with a lil mayo. Over all I was not impressed and most likely won't return. Many other places to choose from that offer more rations for less money. Just a poboy, mushrooms and two drinks were $31.00. And the whole time while I was in there eating, I was the only one that came in. It sure if this place will last with not much customer traffic. read more

Not a bad little place for just opening up,food was good.went thru drive thru service was a little slow but with time it should get better. Wasn't crowded.. the person taking order was very polite.
