    Ultimate Seafood Platter

Food was good. We came at an odd time during the day so the service was ok but not the best. Worst thing was when we got our bill all the pricing was different than the menu. Our bill was more than it should have been. We asked about it and they said the pricing changed but the menu had not yet. First time I've been somewhere that didn't honor their menu pricing.

Finally paid Crawfish and Chill a visit. I ordered takeout got to hang out at one of their outdoor tables while they prepared the order.. On this visit I picked up a fish basket and a shrimp basket to enjoy at home with the fam and I felt like a conquering victorious hero bring these baskets home to share. On the ride home the aroma of this food drove me crazy hungry and we were happy to find both the shrimp and catfish portion huge and tasty! Now I can't wait to actually dine here and try their crawfish.

Food was good, a bit quiet for a Sunday lunch time. Ordered Crabcakes, fried alligator, and Gumbo soup. Service was quick, Server was friendly, food was hot and arrived quickly. Dining room area was large and spacious and looked like a bar and grill. Atmosphere was okay. We stopped for a quick bite because we wanted to check out a local restaurant as we were in the area before going back to New Orleans.

We were looking for someplace to eat and this place happened to be next door to our hotel. So glad we got the recommendation from the hotel staff. The food was delicious. Though the corn was a bit salty. But we think it's because we normally eat a light salt diet so this was the case at many places. We really wanted to go back and eat but ran out of time.

My wife and I really enjoyed the food, it was spicy but not overwhelming. Our server gave us excellent service. Refilled our drinks in a timely manner, she even gave us more drinks to go. Highly recommended.

    Fried shrimp basket. Was amazing!

We went out of our way to go to this spot to get away from all the French quarter stuff. We went with the intentions of crab legs for the kids. We got the sauce on the side to make sure it wasn't too spicy for anyone. You can get them sauced regular as well. The house sauce was delicious! My wife got a shrimp po boy and loved it. The shrimp was seasoned well and the bread was fresh. The fries were good. Fries are fries. They do have crawfish fries on the menu that look awesome if you want to get fancy! My youngest got the fried shrimp from the kid menu and it was a nice sized portion. Their sweet tea was very good and tasted fresh. I only mention the tea because if you're a sweet tea lover you like to know ahead of time. Our waitress and hostess were very friendly and helpful with the menu. Both had great personalities and smiles. Lastly we got red beans and rice and jambalaya to go just to taste later and it was delicious! Great spot. Great service. Great food! 100% would recommend.

I was so disappointed in the crawfish. They were really small and falling apart. The reheated crawfish should be sold at a lower price.

Service was absent at our table. They should turn people away if they can't handle the service.

I don't understand how this place has only 3.8 stars when the food is very good and service is good. You also get generous portions.

Stick to off peak times such as lunch and dinner and you will enjoy the meal without crowds. Cajun fries are great as well as the gumbo.

Been here several times, no complaints. Wait times can be a little long but the food is always good so it's worth the wait.

Best Louisiana Experience Seafood Experience Ever!…read more Saved me a trip to the congestion and hi-priced 100's of clusters of conglomerations in New Orleans... The server, bus boy and everybody else working there was nice... Never really had crawfish before, so that is what I mostly got, in a bread, a deep-fried and with a nacho-flanked appetizer... I wanted to try soft shell crab, so I at least got in a slider... Shrimp is a very commonly ordered entree, so had that accompanied with onion sticks, and only wish I had rom for catfish, luckily at least got (though with only a few pieces of shrimp) at another place a day or two before... And a cup of gumbo, instead of a bowl, knowing I needed room for everything else... And so I am happy I got a taste of the cooking (& a non alcoholic version of a punch) that Louisiana is famously known for! Once again, Spahr's is great, so I'll be back... -- Dave

We went on a Friday night, and's it was a nice crowd but not too busy. We got sat immediately and ordered a bowl of gumbo, shrimp remoulade and crawfish bread - all which were great. My partner was ALL into the crawfish bread and devoured all but one piece. The one piece I did have was very good. For an entree we're shared the fried seafood platter with fries and it was really good. We got four nice fish fillets and shrimp- we opted out of the fried oysters. Everything was prepared nicely and seasoned well. Our server was very friendly and attentive. If ever we are in the area again, we would return.

One restaurant that locals constantly recommended to me was Drago's Seafood in Metairie, and now I completely understand why. I ordered the charbroiled oysters along with the crawfish platter that came with crawfish étouffée, crawfish mac and cheese, and fried crawfish. Every single thing on the table was incredible. The charbroiled oysters absolutely lived up to the hype rich, buttery, smoky, and packed with flavor. The crawfish platter was just as impressive and gave me a chance to try multiple Louisiana dishes all in one meal. What really stood out to me beyond the food was the service. The staff was extremely friendly, welcoming, and patient with questions from someone who isn't from Louisiana and still learning the local food scene. You can tell they take pride in both the restaurant and the hospitality. The only downside is parking can get a little complicated because the place fills up fast, which honestly says a lot about how popular it is. Just plan ahead or expect a short wait finding a spot. Overall, this is one of those restaurants that feels genuinely loved by locals and absolutely worth visiting if you're traveling through the New Orleans area.

My bartender, Darryl, took fantastic care of me. Vibes in this place are very warm and cozy, I sat at the bar to the right of the entrance as you walk in. I had a half dozen char grilled oysters and a cup of seafood gumbo. I see why the oysters are so popular, they are a hit. Buttery and garlicky, the crusty bread they serve with them is a great compliment to soak up the sauce. I had originally intended on getting the chicken and andouille gumbo but Darryl steered me away from it, he said it was very salty. I trusted his word and went with the seafood gumbo instead and was very pleased with it. The flavors were fantastic, but I am gonna ding it ever so slightly as I think $8.99 is kind of an obscene price for that serving size, but at least it was good. Overall I'm very satisfied with my lunch and the service, I think if you like seafood and you're in their area, you should eat here. Edit - $9 for a pint is a little over the top too, imo. My "light lunch" was $42 before the tip.
