Lo mein

This place was a total letdown for me for a couple of reasons. Firstly, had a taste for turkey necks & they had none. So opted for a small gumbo & a small lo mein. Next, gumbo had a gelatinous gravy/soup-ish thing going on...very weird. The noodles had a smell that was also super weird, needless to say, lunch was a no-go. For the good, it was very steady & busy and also very clean. I liked that people couldn't get close up to the food. But why cash only?!?

Nice clean place. Good portions and the food was good. The big thing for me was that they only take cash. So if you don't have cash you have to use the ATM machine and pay the fee to get cash. So if you plan on going stop to the bank before you get there.

They have a nice new location across the street from the old one on Williams Blvd now. The portions and prices have remained the the same fortunately. The only improvement I would recommend is additional seating. Now for the food I had red beans & rice with a Hot sauage dressed on bun. Beans were a just OK but u received a large portion & you can't really jack up a Hot sausage sandwich so they remain consistent in my book. The other hot foods on display were looking good as always.

Have a bit of a crowd so I'm guessing it's good. Stay tune

The only reason why I'm giving this place 3stars is because of the incident Monday. My time was wasted. If I had known prior to walking in and waiting in line that only cash would be expected I would have never entered in the building. Food was good. However I was a bit confused about the chicken parts. Establishment was very clean and staff was friendly

Had some time to kill before the flight and yelp led me here. Place has a interesting array of comfort food. I tried the pork and it was so tender! Anyone who has time to kill at the airport should try this place. Just take the E2 bus for $1.50 or an Uber for $5 or walk 1 mile.

I had the shrimp and fish plate. It was tasty and the portion size was great. The only downside is they were only accepting cash.

Was looking forward to the lemongrass sauce with squash but ended up liking the classic a bit better. There were a decent amount of big crawfish, but my husbands batch was very hit and miss, many were very small and limp, unable to eat about a third of them. Big tables, lots of space. Decent TVs to catch games on. Nice selection of drinks, the mint lychee drink was strong. Service was great.

After 5ppl they charge you a gratuity fee. Which that's fine, but at least work for the gratuity fee. I feel like waiters that get gratuity feel as though they don't have to work because they have already gotten my tip. Also they charge you $15 if you bring a cake into their establishment. Also I DID not like how they treated a group of "black" young men that came into the restaurant. The food was absolutely disgusting.i hate swai fish. And if your restaurant isn't serving "REAL" catfish at least advertise that on your menu. The fries were hard and overcooked. The egg rolls were semi decent. Definitely would not recommend this place of business

One restaurant that locals constantly recommended to me was Drago's Seafood in Metairie, and now I completely understand why. I ordered the charbroiled oysters along with the crawfish platter that came with crawfish étouffée, crawfish mac and cheese, and fried crawfish. Every single thing on the table was incredible. The charbroiled oysters absolutely lived up to the hype rich, buttery, smoky, and packed with flavor. The crawfish platter was just as impressive and gave me a chance to try multiple Louisiana dishes all in one meal. What really stood out to me beyond the food was the service. The staff was extremely friendly, welcoming, and patient with questions from someone who isn't from Louisiana and still learning the local food scene. You can tell they take pride in both the restaurant and the hospitality. The only downside is parking can get a little complicated because the place fills up fast, which honestly says a lot about how popular it is. Just plan ahead or expect a short wait finding a spot. Overall, this is one of those restaurants that feels genuinely loved by locals and absolutely worth visiting if you're traveling through the New Orleans area.

My bartender, Darryl, took fantastic care of me. Vibes in this place are very warm and cozy, I sat at the bar to the right of the entrance as you walk in. I had a half dozen char grilled oysters and a cup of seafood gumbo. I see why the oysters are so popular, they are a hit. Buttery and garlicky, the crusty bread they serve with them is a great compliment to soak up the sauce. I had originally intended on getting the chicken and andouille gumbo but Darryl steered me away from it, he said it was very salty. I trusted his word and went with the seafood gumbo instead and was very pleased with it. The flavors were fantastic, but I am gonna ding it ever so slightly as I think $8.99 is kind of an obscene price for that serving size, but at least it was good. Overall I'm very satisfied with my lunch and the service, I think if you like seafood and you're in their area, you should eat here. Edit - $9 for a pint is a little over the top too, imo. My "light lunch" was $42 before the tip.

This is an extremely casual place, that is both a seafood market and restaurant. I chose to lunch in. The service is friendly and familiar. I felt just as welcomed as the regulars. The menu is full of tempting selections, but knew a few things I wanted. I started off with a cup of seafood gumbo. After the first bite, I regretted not getting a bowl! Next time! It was rich and flavorful, and was clearly not rushed. Next, I also tried the chicken and andouille gumbo. Also excellent, but just slightly shy of the seafood version. The main portion of the meal was what I came for: the crawfish boil. I asked for spicy, and was informed there was only "just right," and they were correct. Initially, I was surprised that the dish came out warm, but not hot, but that, too, was just right. Oh, and the price! Usually, when you see "market price," you expect to lighten your wallet a bit, but in this case, that meant $5.99 for pound. It's crawfish season, I'm told, but still.... I'm used to paying a lot more. The decor is vintage jazz festival posters. Also, since this Women's History Month, the place is women-owned
