Bro ordered like 6 lbs of crawfish and the fried oyster basket with fries. The crawfish were great- hot, juicy, spicy but they were also extra salty. The oysters were amazing!!! Fried to perfection! While visiting family decided to try a local spot and it was a big surprised in a little place. Not only did the menu have some Louisiana faves but also daiquiris on tap. Place your food order, take your daiquiri to your table and the server will bring your freshly prepared meal. The half and half basket of fried shrimp and oysters was very good. Oh no, what happened Seafood Pot? Dropped in last week from out of town and ordered the fried shrimp basket and discovered it was bagged Frozen shrimp, fried, boy I could tell. So disappointing. I even ask the server if it was frozen shrimp and she said yes to confirm. Could not believe it.. the poboy had bagged frozen shrimp as well. The crawfish are super, the blue crabs divine, the onion rings are heavenly, and the sweet tea is sweet (I usually mix is half and half with the under tea), oh and the employees are wonderful, ALL OF THEM! This place was a bit out of the way from the New Orleans touristy area, but it was definitely worth the trip. It's not a fancy or big place, but the service is friendly and seafood is fresh and delicious! We got the seafood boil of shrimp, crawfish, crab, potatoes, sausage, garlic, and mushrooms. This was definitely different from Maryland seafood that has more seasoning, which I like as well, but this seafood boil didn't have heavy seasoning at all and it was still very yummy. We personally didn't like the garlic and mushroom, so probably wouldn't add that next time. Also, my parents thought their fried catfish was the best they've ever had. If I'm ever in this area again, I would definitely come back here! And, would really want to try all the frozen daquiris. They had so many choices! Tips on the seafood boil: -If you are ordering this, be ready to order seafood, such as crab, shrimp, crawfish, potatoes, etc. After you order, they bring it to your table. -Some seafood runs out fast, so don't get there too late. We were there for an early dinner and I overheard that they were out of crawfish. -And, it could become pretty messy eating all the seafood, which is the fun of it. So, be ready to use a lot of paper towels. -Food does get cold pretty quickly, so towards the end the sausage wasn't that good. So, don't let your food become too cold. Bathroom Tip: They only have one bathroom, which was very clean BTW. So, be on the lookout when it's free and go in, so you are not standing in a line with seafood covered hands. read more

Boiled shrimp, crabs, and crawfish are all great (crabs available all the time - so be aware of when they are fat - but they're always good). Thank you Yelp for helping us find this gem of a restaurant. It might not look like much from the outside but of you are looking for fresh and mouthwatering seafood this is a must try. We stopped in here randomly after traveling all day and looking for a non chain restaurant with seafood. This checked off all the boxes in all the best ways We walked in to a welcoming staff willing to answer all questions and give us any help they could. After not much thought I ordered the shrimp box and Mark ordered the Crawfish box - both of which came with a handful of potatoes and corn. Also of note - a drive thru dacquairi window - just awesome. As for the food - fresh as advertised. It is definately an all hands on deck place. Your hands are your utensils but that is what we were looking for. Season perfect with a bit of heatsilence descended as we "worked" for our meal. After a morning of failed crawfishing but awesome off roading we were ready to eat and The Seafood Spot def hit the spot! No frills here just straight forward goodness. The Crawfish Box which included two pounds of crawfish, corn and potatoes is a great deal. Crawfish were a good size and well seasoned. Here's a tip ask them to give you some that are straight out of the boil instead of the ones in the warm box. Jalapeños Hush Puppies are crunchy and delicious as are the fried shrimp. Now the big surprise were the Daiquiris tasty and they pack a punch, so drink with caution. I will definitely be back hopefully after a successful crawfish day to try the crabs. read more

Fresh crabs in Destrehan! Unfortunately, we only tried the crab cakes thinking that crab was the main, but will go back for shrimp and other menu items they offer! Finallllllly made it here & might I say it was worth the wait. The seafood was moderately priced and sooooo sooooo tasteful!!!! (take it from a connoisseur of all things NOLA seafood). Not too spicy, not to spicy-less, is just right!!!!! This restaurant also services a variety of adult beers, sodas and of course bottled water. Friendly, patient staff. Don't forget to check out the daily specials, they seem to give you a variety of samples. Really delicious, really fresh. The seafood basket was perfectly fried, the cinnamon and sugar sweet potato fries were so crazy good. The crab cake was soft and tasty, not greasy or oily. The crab claws were a little tough but still good flavor. Fried shrimp was delicious. Only thing was one of the cooks ran to the toilet with her apron on and then after being in there for a bit, she ran back to the kitchen and kept cooking. The Seafood Pot is in the rotation of places we go when we go out to lunch for work. It has a very basic menu of boiled and fried seafood dishes and the sides to accompany them. The Seafood Pot is also part daiquiri shop which seems a little out of place. My go to meal is the boiled shrimp platter which comes with a few potatoes and a corn on the cob for 13.99. I usually get this as it's faster than the fried stuff. Usually the shrimp are hot but there have been occasions when they are cold. The shrimp are always consistently seasoned well but the temperature consistency could be better. I sometimes get the boiled seafood platter which comes with a couple crabs and less shrimp. It's usually spot on. I've also had a fried shrimp poboy but the bread was kind of hard. They are very busy during the lunch rush so get here early. If you are here past 11:30 on a weekday, be prepared to et your food to go. read more

This place is on River Road not far from the Ormond Plantation so just be on the lookout for it because it's small but it's the best seafood in Louisiana. They have Boiled Blue Crabs, Crawfish & Shrimp and the best fried Softshell Crabs I've found anywhere they also have catfish, shrimp, oysters and poboy's, oh I almost forgot get the seafood gumbo it's so delicious it's full of shrimp and crab and seasoned to perfection. This place isn't fancy but it's super clean and the food is beyond good so drive on over and give em a try. They also have frozen daiquiris and specialty mixed drinks here and of course sweet iced tea and fountain drinks. This area is full of great places to eat. We tried The Seafood Pot today & were quite happy with our selection. The fried pickles were delicious & so well seasoned that we didn't even bother with dipping sauce. Hubby got the seafood platter & it had more food than he could eat. I had the crab cake & fried tomato basket. This was a meaty crab cake sandwiched between two slices of fried tomato, with a generous amount of blue cheese spread included. I ate it like a sandwich & it was wonderful. Everything was brought out very quickly & was fresh & hot. We actually ate our fried pickles along with our entrees. #1 Crabs But Mediocre Fare I went here and ordered the boiled seafood special which consisted of two #1 blue crabs, a mess of boiled shrimp, potatoes, corn, and 1 smoked sausage. The crabs were really nice sized but one was full and was had very little meat in it. As far as the flavor I would say they were average--nothing special. The rest of the boiled items were just mediocre. Some of the shrimp were a bit hard to peel. I also order a fried shrimp po boy and it was not anything to brag about. Bread was not toasty enough and was hard to bite apart. The fried shrimp batter lacked salt, making them a bit bland. There's plenty of seafood place that have better seafood in my opinion and are much closer to where I live than this one. read more
