Amazing food and amazing staff. Very clean very welcoming. A lot of locals and a lot of people passing through. L

One star only because I can't give zero. The food was terrible. The two crab cakes tasted like something I could've bought from the frozen section at a grocery store. I ordered the house special, expecting something worth the money, but there was absolutely nothing special about it. Just spaghetti noodles covered in a gross, cheesy crab sauce, served in a Styrofoam container with a plastic spoon. $30 for this? Absolutely ridiculous. Would not recommend. read more

When I'm driving home from Texas, I always stop here first before seeing my mom. I definitely go here for the blue crabs. I used to go for food, but the food has fell off. read more

I've passed by the Seafood Pot so many times when in the area to visit my grandma. My dad, brother, grandma and I stopped in for a quick lunch. Bro ordered like 6 lbs of crawfish and the fried oyster basket with fries. The crawfish were great- hot, juicy, spicy but they were also extra salty. The oysters were amazing!!! Fried to perfection! My dad ordered a second batch of the oysters for himself. Grandma had the gumbo...she said it was fine. Next time I visit grandma, I gonna stop here and grab us some more of those oysters and a daiquiri! read more

Best tasting seafood in the area. A bit pricey but delicious and great quality. My mom always said you always get what you pay for! Friday is usually packed so be aware. There's co a reason for that popularity and when you start eating, you find out why they're so many customers. The seafood is VERY GOOD! read more

Boiled seafood is usually pretty good. Fried seafood is hit and miss but usually good.

Not impressed at all. Heard good things about restaurant but I did not like the food. Had fried shrimp plate. Lady at next table was having boiled crabs and she commented they were very good. read more

While visiting family decided to try a local spot and it was a big surprised in a little place. Not only did the menu have some Louisiana faves but also daiquiris on tap. Place your food order, take your daiquiri to your table and the server will bring your freshly prepared meal. The half and half basket of fried shrimp and oysters was very good. Threw in some onion rings and seafood gumbo to make the night memorable. You don't have to go to Bourbon Street to experience good food. read more

Best seafood! great staff always attentive. Nice location if you're looking for great food come and get it

The Seafood Pot in Destrehan delivers straight-up Cajun comfort. The gumbo is thick, rich, and probably stirred with a boat paddle. The hot sausage on a bun? A spicy, greasy masterpiece that'll light your mouth up and leave you smiling. Messy, delicious, no regrets. read more

The stuffed seafood bell pepper & Crawfish ravioli were delicious !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had the seafood pot at a work event and I was pleasantly surprised by the tasty selections. I ventured out to New Sarpy where the restaurant is located and purchased a boiled crawfish box and boiled shrimp. The Crawfish weren't flavorful at all.. gosh was I disappointed. Not sure if this was a one off, but definitely regretted this visit. The boiled shrimp were just ok, not sure if I'll be back. read more

The service was great. We got crabs,Gumbo, and a cheeseburger. The cheeseburger is just a frozen patty so it wasn't as enjoyable and our crab weren't hot but they were still good. the inside of the restaurant was pretty so it had a nice ambiance. read more

Oh no, what happened Seafood Pot? Dropped in last week from out of town and ordered the fried shrimp basket and discovered it was bagged Frozen shrimp, fried, boy I could tell. So disappointing. I even ask the server if it was frozen shrimp and she said yes to confirm. Could not believe it.. the poboy had bagged frozen shrimp as well. What's the point of coming to the seafood pot if you don't get fresh seafood for your meals? Popeyes would have tasted better. So sad, not sure if I will be back any time soon. Ridiculous, and we paid $50 dollars for our lunch. Oh man. read more

This place was a bit out of the way from the New Orleans touristy area, but it was definitely worth the trip. It's not a fancy or big place, but the service is friendly and seafood is fresh and delicious! We got the seafood boil of shrimp, crawfish, crab, potatoes, sausage, garlic, and mushrooms. This was definitely different from Maryland seafood that has more seasoning, which I like as well, but this seafood boil didn't have heavy seasoning at all and it was still very yummy. We personally didn't like the garlic and mushroom, so probably wouldn't add that next time. Also, my parents thought their fried catfish was the best they've ever had. If I'm ever in this area again, I would definitely come back here! And, would really want to try all the frozen daquiris. They had so many choices! Tips on the seafood boil: -If you are ordering this, be ready to order seafood, such as crab, shrimp, crawfish, potatoes, etc. After you order, they bring it to your table. -Some seafood runs out fast, so don't get there too late. We were there for an early dinner and I overheard that they were out of crawfish. -And, it could become pretty messy eating all the seafood, which is the fun of it. So, be ready to use a lot of paper towels. -Food does get cold pretty quickly, so towards the end the sausage wasn't that good. So, don't let your food become too cold. Bathroom Tip: They only have one bathroom, which was very clean BTW. So, be on the lookout when it's free and go in, so you are not standing in a line with seafood covered hands. read more

Great fresh seafood and po-boys. The place gets pretty crowded at lunch. Better come early. Boiled shrimp, crabs, and crawfish are all great (crabs available all the time - so be aware of when they are fat - but they're always good). Po-boys and sandwiches are great - shrimp, fish, oysters- all of them. Fries and onion rings are fresh and crispy. Salads and wraps on the menu, too. Four stars - All around good food. read more

Thank you Yelp for helping us find this gem of a restaurant. It might not look like much from the outside but of you are looking for fresh and mouthwatering seafood this is a must try. We stopped in here randomly after traveling all day and looking for a non chain restaurant with seafood. This checked off all the boxes in all the best ways We walked in to a welcoming staff willing to answer all questions and give us any help they could. After not much thought I ordered the shrimp box and Mark ordered the Crawfish box - both of which came with a handful of potatoes and corn. Also of note - a drive thru dacquairi window - just awesome. As for the food - fresh as advertised. It is definately an all hands on deck place. Your hands are your utensils but that is what we were looking for. Season perfect with a bit of heatsilence descended as we "worked" for our meal. Definitely started our trip off on the right foot read more

Great tasting crawfish and shrimp. Just got bad pour of crawfish. A lot of runts that took up about a 1/4 of the order.

Decent chicken ranch wrap. Service was great (convenient drive-thru). Didn't go inside.

I called ahead of time n they lady said they open When I get there they were close Very disappointed read more

Great seafood!! Especially the crabs and shrimp. Every time I go to Louisiana I have to get my fix.

After a morning of failed crawfishing but awesome off roading we were ready to eat and The Seafood Spot def hit the spot! No frills here just straight forward goodness. The Crawfish Box which included two pounds of crawfish, corn and potatoes is a great deal. Crawfish were a good size and well seasoned. Here's a tip ask them to give you some that are straight out of the boil instead of the ones in the warm box. Jalapeños Hush Puppies are crunchy and delicious as are the fried shrimp. Now the big surprise were the Daiquiris tasty and they pack a punch, so drink with caution. I will definitely be back hopefully after a successful crawfish day to try the crabs. read more

Shrimp is delicious!! Seasoned perfectly and and cooked to perfection! Definitely going back!

Finallllllly made it here & might I say it was worth the wait. The seafood was moderately priced and sooooo sooooo tasteful!!!! (take it from a connoisseur of all things NOLA seafood). Not too spicy, not to spicy-less, is just right!!!!! This restaurant also services a variety of adult beers, sodas and of course bottled water. Friendly, patient staff. Don't forget to check out the daily specials, they seem to give you a variety of samples. Crawfish (at the time of this posting were $3.49/lb) , crabs, these friend creamy corn bites (scrumptious), corn on the cob, potatoes & sausage (ehhhh could've passed on those) all in all everything was Ummmm Ummmm GOOD!!!!!! Only one unisex bathroom, that at the time of my visit was under operation, buuuuuuuutttt i was allowed by the ever so friendly wait staff to utilize the sink right behind the counter to wash the excess crawfish juice. Definitely a re-visit in the near furture... read more

Really delicious, really fresh. The seafood basket was perfectly fried, the cinnamon and sugar sweet potato fries were so crazy good. The crab cake was soft and tasty, not greasy or oily. The crab claws were a little tough but still good flavor. Fried shrimp was delicious. Only thing was one of the cooks ran to the toilet with her apron on and then after being in there for a bit, she ran back to the kitchen and kept cooking. By that time we'd already ordered and eaten more than half our food but that definitely grossed me out a bit! So cleanliness of staff not so great, food itself was very tasty. read more

The Seafood Pot is in the rotation of places we go when we go out to lunch for work. It has a very basic menu of boiled and fried seafood dishes and the sides to accompany them. The Seafood Pot is also part daiquiri shop which seems a little out of place. My go to meal is the boiled shrimp platter which comes with a few potatoes and a corn on the cob for 13.99. I usually get this as it's faster than the fried stuff. Usually the shrimp are hot but there have been occasions when they are cold. The shrimp are always consistently seasoned well but the temperature consistency could be better. I sometimes get the boiled seafood platter which comes with a couple crabs and less shrimp. It's usually spot on. I've also had a fried shrimp poboy but the bread was kind of hard. They are very busy during the lunch rush so get here early. If you are here past 11:30 on a weekday, be prepared to et your food to go. read more
