We came here for a wedding and had a great time. The staff was super attentive and all the girls were really sweet. A lot of different food was served and all of it was hot and fresh. Shrimp was probably both of our favorite. Drinks were well made and came out quick. Really pretty views of the lake too.

Had not been here in years, way before Joe became the chef. I wanted to choose something different for my husband's birthday and we prefer not to go to Orleans Parish if we don't have to. I cannot say enough about the staff or the food. The staff were genuine and excellent. I had one of the drink soecials: a passionfruit marg. Really yummy. Hubby had the soft shell platter: 2 nice size crabs perfectly cooked with fries and veggies that he said were fresh and delicious. I had the Eggplant Napoleon with shrimp and crabmeat and a crawfish cream sauce over linguine. It was lovely. We were both so glad we gave Frenier Labding another chance. Looking forward to returning!

So we had a swamp tour at 2:15. We needed food first. We came to Frenier Landing at about 1:30. First off all, beautiful location, right at the edge of the lake! There is some outdoor seating, and great views if you happen to get a seat by the window. We were seated and our order taken in about 5 min. For Louisiana, our food came out, relatively quickly, at around 1:50. We also asked for the bill immediately, just so we could make a fast exit when finished. The food itself was great! I got the oyster po boy, all dressed, and it was well fried. My mother got the grilled chicken sandwich, and noted that the fresh pepper was delicious and the chicken was well cooked. My father got the crab cake sandwich and also loved it, particularly the sauce added to it. Definitely a nice place to stop if you're not in a hurry! And we did make it to the swamp tour in time.

Service is always top notch. Food is fantastic. My go to place when I'm working in Laplace

We were a little nervous after some of the reviews but we were very happy with our visit. We had the crawfish kickers, grilled & stuffed catfish and the seafood platter. Everything was delicious and seasoned perfectly. (We're sensitive to too much salt and this wasn't an issue for us) The staff was attentive and friendly and the location was really nice.

Bland onion rings, rancid crab cake. Fish tacos returned. I should have just walked out when I had the chance. The reason why I went was for Adam Pearce. But it was rained out, and we went the next night.

The greek salad is ok, the lettuce was brown and tasted kind of old. The fried calamari batter was super plain, calamari was small and over cooked and the marinara they serve it with was watery. When I tell you that was top 5 best salmon I've ever eaten. It was so flavorful and moist. It was PERFECTLY seasoned and cooked. The spinach, veggies, and potatoes were an excellent touch of freshness. I will definitely be back for the salmon. The Caesar salad was also divine. In fact, I think it's the best Caesar salad I've tried. The dressing is slightly more tart than other Caesar dressings; however, it's tart in the most palate-pleasing way. The cheese was abundant and fresh, and the romaine was crisp and fresh. I did not try the redfish but our family friend was satisfied. Finally, the warm rolls with that butter are enough to start a fight over for the last roll. I ate 3 at the table, which I never do. They're so light, buttery, and are served warm. The butter is possibly a whipped garlic butter concoction. I had to stop eating them. Overall, I really enjoyed our dinner. Do not be thrown off by the dated decor--some of the best food comes from places like these. My only hangup is the imported seafood. I'm not a big fan of imported seafood, in general. However, I do not think that takes away from the restaurant if you're looking for a great meal. And I'm mindful that domestic costs are often (and are growing) financially infeasible for some restaurants. Great spot!!

Jambalaya Shoppe came highly recommended by a work buddy so I met him there one day. After that, it became my go-to lunch spot. Like its name indicates, this place sells a bunch of jambalaya. I rarely eat jambalaya that isn't made by me so I was skeptical. But they also sell gumbo which every red blooded Louisianaian loves so that is what I ordered. The gumbo here is legitimately good. It is filled with large pieces of chicken. When I say large, I mean multiple whole thighs. Get it with a fork and knife. Seriously. This is not your normal restaurant gumbo. It is thick, rich, and has a well developed roux. In addition to the massive amounts of chicken, it also includes a massive amount of sausage. Luckily for me, it came pre sliced and only the chicken needed to be cut up before eating. The best thing about the gumbo is that it is super reasonable. Don't quote me on prices because my brain doesn't work so good, but I think it was like $9 with tax for gumbo and a water. This is a massive meal for $9! If you want good gumbo, and are in LaPlace, get yourself to Jambalaya Shoppe.

It had shrimp, fish, oysters fries and hush puppies. I am glad the chef does not over salt. The fish was not to our liking. They use catfish but the fish was very muddy tasting. I trimmed all the blood line off the meat but fish was ruined due to not being cleaned properly. Shrimp were very good. They are a nice size fried in a light batter and deboned. They would be something I would go back for. The oyster were good but they had a different seasoning that didn't enhance the flavor.
