Was cool for a Metairie dive bar. They knew the owners , so the beers were flowing. The smoke wasn't bad. If it was even there. No one in our eventually large group smoked. The Mardi Gras Lounge is the hotel bar located inside the Holiday Inn Downtown. This bar just got…read morerenovated this month and is now looking stellar. I just quit working at a hotel this summer but I have worked in the hotel industry for the past 14 yrs. I have yet to go to or work at a hotel where the hotel bar is "the neighborhood bar" or even a top choice for a meeting place with friends. Hotel bars, in general, are much more subdued than other bars. This bar is now a beautiful bar that is visually appealing. It also has very nice lounge chairs and tables. But, as is the case with all other hotel bars, there is no jukebox. Or pool table or dart boards. Nor is it open 24/7 like some bars around here. So the fun factor at this bar is somewhat low. Drinks are pricey here because it is a hotel and hotels overcharge for everything. I ordered a few beers and they charge $4.75/bottle for Michelob Ultra. Expect likewise overpricing for cocktails. I would recommend this bar if you want a nice trendy bar to hang out at. If you want to be rowdy and crazy with your friends this may not be the right place for you. Of course every bar gets rowdy and crazy when the Saints are playing and this bar is no exception. My friend Scott bartends here and he said during Saints games the bar is packed and loud. Otherwise you can hear the crickets.

The staff worker saw me waiting as she held casual conversation with the person in the car in front of me. Once they left, she never returned to the window where a total of four cars had piled up. I then pulled around to park and go in where the same staff woman didn't speak or acknowledge my presence. Instead she continued holding casual conversation with the ladies sitting inside which left me with no other choice but to leave. I hoped for a better experience, but I will probably not be returning to this establishment if the treatment displayed is any reflection of how you value paying customers.

One of the reasons we wanted to move here was because every time we visited, people were so friendly and kind and this place didn't let us down! From the atmosphere to the food to the staff to the neighborhood visitors, I can honestly say, this place is awesome. The food was amazing, the bartenders were sweet, there was karaoke going on that night, which was so much fun! The vibe felt more like we were hanging out and having a good time with friends rather than just going out to dinner/to a bar - in the best way possible. Everyone should go visit Cantina at the Club to enjoy the food, atmosphere, and wonderful people that make this place so special!

We were here semi-late and it was pretty much dead. There are pool tables and darts and basic beer. This is a definite "neighborhood" type place, in that I can't really see anyone making this place a destination for the evening, unless they lived 5 minutes away. It's Westbank, so of course smoking is allowed and the place is small so it gets pretty musty. The bartender was nice and it wasn't a bad place to end the evening.

And on top of that I watched the bartender take back a cup from a patron and pour it back into the machine which is completely unsanitary. Could have been my go to spot but over a measly 2 bucks they lost me.
