First time visiting and unfortunately will definitely be the last. We were the only ones on Saturday afternoon, was seated promptly. However, it went down hill after that. I tried ordering turkey wings? Turkey necks and oysters and neither were available so I opted for steak medium well, red beans and green beans; my daughter ordered the loaded potato with pulled pork (flavored amazingly) and mac and cheese (absolutely horrible) my husband ordered salmon and shrimp, dirty rice and green beans. Steak came out the 1st time, it was well done.... Sent back for a 2nd time; came out and this time the steak is a different cut where it's thick on one side and thin on the other side and it was done and the thick side RAW at this point I'm irritated and it was sent back and I decided not to get anything else. The green beans were definitely from the can with no flavor. My husband's salmon was ok, the red beans were good and the dirty rice as well. My daughter's food came out and although the pulled pork was good the rest was a no go which threw the entire meal off. It took forever for the food to come although we were the only ones! On a Saturday night it's a vibe, but not my vibe because I'm 25 now (I said what I said). I'm not a fan of bounce music like that, but I do know and understand this is the music for a certain crowd. A group of friends and I came to cafe Nola on a Thursday evening for their line dancing night. We got there around 7 p.m., and there was already a thick crowd of people enjoying their meals/drinks and line dancing! Every line dance you can think of (and probably many you've never heard of) was done that night. I learned sooooo many new ones, and I appreciated that there's an instructor for some of the dances. It's a fun night of no judgment and good vibes. Great DJ as well! But there's more! The food and drinks are also great here! They have a happy hour until 8 p.m.! $5 well shots, rum punch, and I think another cocktail. I actually just had an unsweetened tea, which comes in a large drinking cup. I ordered the salmon with green beans and potato salad, which I think was about $21. The salmon was so well-seasoned and wasn't dry at all! The green beans and potato salad were also good. It really felt like a summer cookout at your favorite Auntie's house. I also tried a shrimp that a friend ordered, and it was also very well seasoned and flavorful. Although the place was very busy, our waitress, Jamari, was very friendly and checked on us regularly! We didn't wait long for the food to come out either. I'll def be back. Maybe I'll come early next time, because the parking lot is small, and judging by the number of people who knew every single line dance, they have some faithful regulars that come out. July 19 was our 20 year class reunion . I just wanted to share some feedback about our reunion brunch. I've been coordinating with your team since around Mardi Gras, so I was disappointed with today's experience. The building was extremely hot, the food came out very late, and the staff wasn't as welcoming as we expected. I appreciated you listening to my concerns, but I wish we had been notified beforehand if you were short-staffed or experiencing issues. As event organizers, situations like this reflect on our planning and reputation. I just wanted to share my honest feedback and hope it helps going forward. If there's one thing the owners of Cafe Nola excel at, it's advertising. No matter where I am on the Westbank, I can always spot a sign at a major intersection drawing me in. Finally, I gave in and stopped by. The restaurant had just opened, so I was the only guest for a while, but it didn't feel empty. The place has a great vibe--the music kept me moving in my seat and singing along between bites. There's even a jukebox, so I got to play DJ for a bit. Ok so this is my second time coming. I came for lunch and had the cabbage and yams with rib tips. Everything was sooo good. I'm so happy whenever I can get rib tips when I'm out because people dont really have them. I came again tonight with my husband and had the charbroiled blue crabs and we got the Chicago style rib tips over fries. Once again, it was amazing. The crabs were sooooooo damn good y'all. And we really enjoyed the rib tips again. Definitely putting this on the list! read more

My overall experience was amazing. The food was beautiful, flavorful, and affordable. It also was very good size portion. I couldn't even finish it all. And that sauce on that tender smoke turkey was my favorite part. The waitress was very kind, friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was awesome smooth 90s rnb. So they charge you for take out which is understandable, however the menu prices are different from what is rung up! The young lady at the register has a very nasty mouth. She curses in front of customers which is very unprofessional. When I asked the manager about the different prices, he states he doesn't know, it could be taxes, which I implied that taxes should be added after it and he stated well I don't know. How you run a restaurant and don't know anything about your prices! Then they ran out of food. I overheard him telling a customer they were out of steaks.
