Great as always Thursdays is a little busy. Everything's good you might have to wait 10 to 15 minutes. It's totally worth it.

The Joint is yummo! I had the beef brisket & ribs and it was absolutely incredible -- super tender, flavorful, and perfect paired with the coleslaw. The vibes here are unmatched. Next time I'll try the pulled pork. When I arrived, they were outside smoking turkeys for Thanksgiving and the smell alone could win an award -- so good! It's such a great neighborhood spot with friendly, welcoming service every time. Perfect for groups, and I love the bar area -- it's a really nice touch that adds to the whole experience. If you love barbecue, The Joint is a must-stop in New Orleans!

The Joint has been on our list for a while, so we headed down for lunch on Saturday. We got there too early for burnt ends, so I got a two meat plate with ribs, sausage and baked beans. It was so much food! I've gotten used to portions shrinking at BBQ restaurants, but that is not the case here. The ribs were so tender the meat fell off the bone. The sausage was juicy and came with a delicious dipping sauce. The baked beans were very flavorful. Can't wait to go back and hopefully try out the burnt ends.

I want to say sorry about your luck Texas barbecue lovers. Because the best barbecue I have ever had is right here in NOLA. I have been coming to this place for the last almost 10 years every time I visit this city. Brought family and friends here from Austin here during Mardi Gras and they raved, as well as ate. The barbecue is absolutely amazing. From pork ribs, to brisket, to chopped beef and pork, to burnt ends. On point delicious, to die for, and amazing. I can promise you will never have better than this. The Mac and cheese, the coleslaw, the baked beans, the pickles, and absolutely everything on this menu will just light you up. Staff are down to earth and invested in quality. Great tap beers and craft cocktails served. Such a laid back get to know your neighbors kind on place. Don't be square, just be here. You won't regret!

Took my food to go, it was so good. It is always so good. Super chill vibes, lots of family people. People sitting at the bar, tables or outside. Service is very fast. No complaints from me.

I have to admit, I was a little disappointed after being so excited to try this place. I saw The Joint on TikTok listed as a must-try spot in NOLA for classic Southern-style BBQ, so my expectations were pretty high. Funny story--we showed up just a couple minutes before they opened at 11:30 am, and there were already a few parties waiting outside since certain items tend to sell out quickly. The party ahead of us ordered the last of the first batch of ribs, so the guy taking our order let us know they were out. We went ahead and ate anyway, and after we had already left and were about to call an Uber, he actually came outside to let us know the ribs were available again. Since we came all this way for BBQ, we circled back and ordered a plate--big props to the staff for that! As for the food itself, it wasn't bad, but it didn't live up to the hype I'd seen online. I tried the brisket, brisket burnt ends, pulled pork, and ribs. A key flavor that felt missing across the board was sweetness--especially in the meat (aside from the burnt ends) and in the potato salad. The ribs were tender but could've used more BBQ sauce. The brisket burnt ends were the only cut that had a satisfying amount of sauce. The meat in general was a bit salty for my taste. Sides were hit or miss. The baked beans were a must-order--rich, flavorful, and easily the best side. The potato salad could've used a little sugar to round it out, and the mac and cheese was pretty bland, with a texture that made me wonder if it was from the day before. The key lime pie, on the other hand, was a standout--light, refreshing, and the perfect way to end a heavy BBQ meal. Overall, I'd give the food a 6.5/10, but the incredible service really pulled up the experience. If you're nearby, it's worth checking out!

The experience and food was amazing. The food was out quick and the pork fell off the bone. The Brisket Burnt Ends were tender and moist. Definitely a piece of Americana and a taste of New Orleans! Will definitely be back!

Amazing BBQ spot tucked away at the edge of a residential area of Bywater. Totally worth coming here if you're visiting and staying in French Quarter area. The staff and food are amazing. The ribs, brisket and sausage were phenomenal. Will totally come back the next time I visit New Orleans.

The neighborhood smelled amazing and I was ready for some amazing bbq. Now I know NOLA is not known for their bbq but I was hopeful. The service was a little lacking almost felt like we were bothering them for being there..the ribs were ok, not much smoke to them, the burnt ends were more like roast beef chunks but the sausage was good. The Mac wasn't Mac'n and the beans were ok. Not a horrible experience but not an amazing one either.

Had to grab an Uber from the French Quarter to get to The Joint, but so worth it. We ordered brisket and a full rack of ribs, plus mac n' cheese for him and corn muffins for me, and we each went for "the Mac," this vodka tea lemonade drink that instantly became one of our favorites of our entire week in NOLA. What really made the experience stand out was how genuinely kind everyone was, the younger guy at the register, the woman behind the bar, and even another gentleman who checked on us mid meal. They weren't crowded, but you could tell they were slammed with day before Thanksgiving catering orders, and still the service was incredible. The BBQ itself? Best we've ever had. My boyfriend said those ribs were the best he's tasted, and he ate so much we ended up going back to nap instead of sticking to our plans. I also didn't realize until afterward that they have the cutest little patio out back. The whole vibe, inside and out is adorable, and the customer service was next level. We already know we'll be back, especially to finally try the burnt ends they were out of for the holiday rush!

The Joint is classic, southern BBQ. Right down to the grungy concrete floors. Food is smoked low with love as one would expect and it tastes great. Price is on par with the area and service was good. The peanut butter pie and key lime pie stole the show and rounded out a really solid meal and experience.

We enjoy going to the joint. The atmosphere is casual and fun, it's small but the backyard patio is also nice and has some shade. You order by the bar and they serve your table. I had the 3 meat combo with double ribs to take home for later. I had coleslaw which was ok and delicious beans as sides. Ribs fell off the bone, I found to pork to be a wee bit smoky for my taste but still good. Husband had chicken, ribs and pork with creamy Mac and cheese and potato salad as a side. All very good. If you're looking for Bbq this is a great place.

The Joint is one of those places that you will eat at everyday if you find it on your first day in NOLA. The website said it opens at 1130 on Monday days, but at 1131 the line was already six people deep. After getting my food, it's easy to see why. The brisket burnt ends were huge and deliciously moist, unlike the usual dried out ends you receive at other places. The potato salad had excellent flavor, as did the mac & cheese. The key lime pie had the perfect flavor of actual limes and wasn't overpowered by the delicate Graham cracker crust. Come hungry, because these portions are huge. The vibe is casual and eclectic. Customer service was friendly, quick, and efficient.

Do the burnt ends sell out early? When are they usually available?

We were there at 11:30 the place was full and ordered along with too many other good things! Good thing we biked from our hotel or I would have fallen asleep, it's way too good there!

Guys. Peanut butter pie. Is this actually good?…

It's SO good we went back and ordered another slice. But that's just us. 🙂

Anyone know if they have high chairs?

I'd bet they do. Ask as you order, and they'll make a space.

What kind of wood does The Joint use to smoke their meat?

No idea. Might be a house secret.

I cook a lot of both at home--I'm someone who is dedicated enough to my Louisiana cooking to order Steen's syrup from Louisiana to my Florida doorstep even though Florida makes perfectly good cane syrup in its own right. (Side note: any New Orleans restaurant you venture to serving pain perdu with maple syrup and not Steen's--ask what the hell they're even doing.) Like most worthwhile restaurants, the menu here changes up. The specials as well as their famous sandwiches seem the way to go and I got the fried shrimp with bread and butter pickles. Exceptional--a small amount, it may have even been a starter but regardless was perfect for me. The sandwiches other diners had on their plates were large and looked delicious just glancing around at other tables. Everything comes up fast and the atmosphere is . . . just ideally New Orleans. It feels all the way "working CBD lunch" yet unhurried, a reflection of Cochon's greatness but scaled down and with utterly no pretense. There's simply a real sense of both care and expertise in everything done here no matter how simple or complex. Beyond all else, they're doing what they love here with no scaling back or dressing up to make it anything else. A winner through and through.

I decided to walk down there and they didn't really have a lot of business, but it was late so I figured that that's why. When I first showed up I was sure if they were open. I saw people but stood there waiting to be greeted. I wasn't the only one that had this issue. There were two gentlemen who came up asking the same question and eventually asked me if they were still open. I ordered the bbq pot plate. The pork was a bit salty for my taste. I put some bbq sauce on it though and it helped. Then the potato salad had waaay too much mayo in it. Felt like mayo salad with bits of potato. The corn bread just fell to pieces when I went to pick it up and didn't taste great. The beans also were so hot I couldn't eat them with my meal I had to finish them last. They gave me what other restaurants would use as a water cup, the small plastic ones, to get coke and the machine wouldn't make ice. It was super hot and muggy outside so I was looking forward to it being cool where I eat and nope, it was hot. I couldn't feel any difference between outside and inside. My advice is to just go somewhere else. When a place can't greet you, isn't great at making food and is not comfortable to sit in I wouldn't suggest it.
