Have eaten here quite a few times as well as had the huckabuck. The gumbo is original and has it's own New Orleans flare while the huckabuck is a delicious additive to complete your meal. Have eaten a lot of gumbo claiming to be the best and have come nowhere close to even being good. I can not say the same for this place. Excellent food! I tried the gumbo and the hot wings. The gumbo had large pieces of sausage, chicken, shrimp and crab throughout. You didn't have to guess what was in there because you could see it. No skimping going on here. The broth was full-bodied with a great smokey flavor. You could really tell the chef who made it cares about making great food. This is some of the best gumbo I've had in New Orleans and is very reasonably priced too! The wings were divine. Not too hot and not too mild. They had just the right amount of heat and were big and juicy! Lots of sauce! I'm putting NOLA Gumbo on my list of must try restaurants when you're in New Orleans. After reading the reviews I was really excited to try their gumbo. I was extremely disappointed the chicken and sausage gumbo was a tomato base not from a rue. The other gumbo did not have any seafood in it and little to no meat. The rice is minute rice this is by far not original New Orleans food. The chicken wings were very small and the breading was soggy like wet bread. The grill cheese that they raved about was not buttery and the cheese was kraft American slices. I cannot believe I paid 60 dollars for less than average food that claimed to be so good. Never again. I know what gumbo is supposed to taste like considering I am from New Orleans and live close to this place. read more

I will start out by saying they only have a one star because I couldn't give it a big fat ZERO. The business would not take order by phone, needed to order through Eat24.com. Placed order but our business address would not show correctly in the system. We placed notes in the system to tell the person exactly where the location is, which I might add is just around the corner from the business. After 1 hour was told that they went to the wrong location because they did not read the notes. We were told that they were remaking our food and would bring to us. We called back after another 20 minutes passed to see how long because we ordered at noon and it is now 2:30pm. He yelled , said he was the manager and he already told us that he talked to someone and told us to cancel the order. Unprofessional is all I can say. On a positive note the young lady from Eat24 was excellent when trying to resolve the issue, this business owner yelled and hung up on her. Eat24 needs to re-evaluate who they do business with as this business is horrible reflection on their business. Do yourself a favor, pass. read more
