Lo and behold, the new unit developed a refrigerant leak and stopped cooling when it was 105 degrees today - and we had guests arriving today. There were a number of complications as their repair techs have been very busy, however, Katie did an amazing job working with us today. She started with us at 7am to coordinate a technician visit. There were complications on their end with sourcing the refrigerant and originally was going to be until tomorrow to finalize the job. We explained that this was going to cost us revenue due to reimbursing guests. She took that to heart, personally went to their storage facility to procure the materials, and then coordinated the work this evening. And to top it off, she called just now at 8:30pm to close the loop and insure we knew it was fixed and tested. KATIE IS A SUNLOGIX ROCKSTAR... please give her and the team a big raise. Caitlin Kelley the rep for Sunlogix won the bid as she was thorough with her explanations and understood what we were solving for. The other major factor is the fact that they are local. Once the decision was made the process was smooth and seamless. Caitlin was always available to answer questions and her understanding of her product was impressive. It was also impressive that she understood her competition and could address many things we were told by others. While Sunlogix was not the cheapest bid, we felt that their being local was worth a small premium. On the installation side the crew was terrific. They showed up on time, they were efficient with their time, cleaned up well and one could not ask for a better installation experience. They were great at answering questions. From the very first conversation, Dave was incredibly patient and took the time to walk us through his ideas for our home. His proposal included not only the solar system but also an upgraded electrical panel, an EV charging station, and a new roof. Because we rent our home out, making sure everything was done properly and efficiently was very important to us. Dave brought Mohamed Kastiro into the discussions, and Mohamed provided detailed drawings showing the proposed panel layout. We made a few tweaks along the way, and at no point did we ever feel like we were bothering them. In fact, the entire team made us feel welcome and supported throughout the process. The installation itself was fantastic. Every step of the project was clearly communicated, timelines were respected, and when the crew said they would arrive at a certain time, they did. That level of reliability is rare these days. We also have to mention Samantha Lee in the office. Sam was amazing--always following up, keeping us informed, and making sure everything stayed on track. We are currently awaiting final approval from Southern California Edison, and as of today's update, everything appears to be in order. Paul, he only charged me $650. I think that is very reasonable, especially in this economy and the hard times people are facing. Also, he was nice enough that, when he showed me the first picture, there was miscommunication and the wrong plug was installed. My charger needed to be hard wired and a plug was installed instead. He thoroughly explained the process on how they would remedy it while also identifying some other potential issues we might soon experience on some other sections of the roof. We received a proposal for repair a few days later and the price, while not cheap, was not outrageous. We signed the contract and were in the schedule shortly after. Day of the repair came and everything went very smooth. Upon opening the drain area they found some rotten lumber which they furnished me photos of.
