My solar system was originally installed by Renova in 2021 (and they did a great job). The system has saved me so much money. When I heard that Renova has been reborn as Mycrogrid I decided to talk to them about their battery backup system. The system went on line about 10 days ago and it's already covered me during 3 power outages! I now know that I'm safely covered in case of any outages, which is comforting in dealing with our extreme heat - AC stays on, fridge is working and it comes on so quickly that I didn't even know that the power was out until a neighbor called me! Their service and communication are both excellent. Every employee is very experienced and knowledgeable and I recommend them highly. read more

If I could give this company less than zero stars I would. They will not stand by the commitment they made as Renova, even to a loyal customer that stayed with them through their bankruptcy. The B.S. line is "we're a new company and not responsible for Renova". Same owner, same company regardless of your name change! STAY AWAY read more

What an absolute disgrace. We were returning customers of Renova Energy. This company took our money, left our solar project unfinished, and subsequently went bankrupt. We spent months chasing these people trying to get our project completed, for which they had ALREADY been paid in full! A word of advise: NEVER pay a contractor in full for anything until ALL OF THE WORK is completed. We learned that lesson the hard way. Phone calls ignored. Emails unanswered. Repeated trips to their office, where we got empty assurances and the runaround. On one occasion, the CEO actually got in our faces and angrily lashed out at us for having the audacity to demand that our already-paid-for project be completed. Eventually the manager involved with our original installation, now working at Mycrogrid, told us he couldn't help us and basically told to piss off. Same manager and CEO, same location, same trucks, even same colors, but when it comes to responsibility, suddenly everything is different. How convenient. We eventually had to hire another contractor and pay out of pocket to finish a project we'd already paid for. I wouldn't trust these people to change a light bulb. They have a clear track record of business failure with their bankrupsy and god awful customer service. Do yourself a favor and Stay away! read more

The owner of this company owned Renova Solar. We hadn't even had our $41,000 solar system installed for four months when they went out of business and popped up with this new business, at their same location. I do not trust them. Called with a problem with Tesla power wall & was told that they were no longer in business. read more

Same old Renova just rebranded as Mycrogrid. Not sure who is rating them as 4.5 and 5 stars likely their employees. They DO NOT return calls, They have abandoned their customers and the owner Vincent Battaglia who says in his podcasts says he LOVES his customers has never returned a single call or email to me as well. It has been two years of sure hell and frustration. I feel so foolish as they sucked me into a new roof with a 20 year warranty and a 25 year solar lease (SunPower) so am double screwed. Choose a different vendor! Maybe the collective Renova customers need to get together and explore a class action lawsuit. read more

Mycrogrid is a joke. Same owner of the now defunct Renova, Vincent Battaglia. Mycrogrid will not stand behind any problems that a Renova Energy system may have. Initially I was referred to a Raul Giles, Service manager. That person is never available. Vincent Battaglia is a sham. Shame on you for abandoning your Renova customers. I would not trust Mycrogrid. read more

Stay as far away as you can from this company as you can. They were previously Renova Energy who went bankrupt and if you call them about your Renova system they will tell you, "Well, we are a new company so legally we are not even responsible for Renova clients". Same CEO, same location, new name. They do not stand behind there products or work. How long before Mycrogrid folds and pops up as yet another iteration of the same company which will say, "Well, we are a new company, legally we are not even responsible for "Mycrogrid" customers"?? This is a major long term investment, do you homework and find a reputable stand up company you can trust, you will be much better off in the long run. read more

Renova installed a solar system at my home in 2022. They did a good job with that. BUT: I had a panel failure recently and discovered that to simply have someone drive over and do basic troubleshooting would cost FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS - and that does not include any repairs. Be careful with these people. Once they've got you, they've GOT you. read more

I needed my Solar panels cleaned with our standing on my tile roof. Several of the previous companies I tried cracked tiles while walking on my roof to clean the panels. The repair roof tile bills usually ran $750 or more. I called Renova and asked if they had solar panel cleaners who cold clean the panels without going on my roof. They said "Yes" and explained that the would also check out the functioning of the system and make any necessary adjustments to it. The cost was only $180.00! So I hired them. Two Renova Technicians arrived today and using a pressure hose from their truck cleaned the panels without going on my roof. They were quick, very professional and did an excellent job. They sent me a detailed report on what they did and the condition of my solar panels. Renova did the best job ever and did it for the lowest price! I highly recommend them the next time you need your panels cleaned! read more

We are extremely pleased that we chose Renova Energy to install our solar + battery system. From the beginning of the project, Shawna effectively managed our needs by promptly answering questions and providing an accurate timeline. Likewise, the installation team was professional, arriving on time, answering questions throughout the installation process and keeping us informed of everything being completed daily. The work was also done cleanly and the finish work looks great. After almost 2 weeks of use, we see that we have a system that provides us with almost 24x7 energy independence. Shawna even circled back after everything was operational to check that we were happy with the results. We highly recommend Renova for Solar and battery projects and wouldn't hesitate to hire them again if we ever decide to expand our system. read more

Just had our solar project completed by Renova and are so pleased with the results. We got more for less with Renova. Arnold Hernandez was fantastic to work with. He was always available for us, answered all of our questions (multiple times) and followed the project through to completion. Thank you Arnold and Renova. read more

Renova organized the process from initial quote thru installation and My sales Rep, Mick Kaylor was always there when I had a question for him or any team member. The process takes a while to get the system on line , I recommend getting started asap. The only thing I would have done differently would have been to order 2 batteries instead of one. We are very happy producing 55 KW/day read more

Great customer care from Shawna and Jo Ann who arranged for Miguel from Superior Roofing to assess and repair roof area. Next step was inside paint and wall repair by Carlos. Miguel and Carlos were efficient, careful and gave the us the same excellent customer care. Working with Renova and their team of contractors was a pleasure. Making appointments was easy, Miguel and Carlos arrived on time for each of their appointments, we are happy with their work, and we wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future. Thank you. read more

Still no contact from Renova. I'm still paying for my panels and the large power bill. I don't want to go to a lawyer and get out of the contract with Renova but I may have to. Crazy that I thought Renova would be a good, trustworthy company. NOT. Please, if you're looking into getting solar, please avoid this company! read more

Renova has been going through a lot with the debacle of Sun power. We have 2 systems and one has been out since July. We really had nothing we could do to get our system fixed. We emailed Vincent the ceo of Renova and we have been working with him to get our system up and running . We asked if we could just pay outright since our warranty wasn't being able to be used because Sun Power was out of business. He said sure . He sent out David and Daniel and they took about an hour and got everything working!! Thank you Vincent and thanks you David and Daniel. read more

The guys doing the work were excellent Sales person promised some things that they didn't deliver on and communication with the office was horrible. Over all the equipment and maintenance was great but the most expensive in the valley - did 2nd installation a year later with another company save $1000's With renovation you will get a decent installation but could do the same with another company for less. read more

Seriously...Renova installed a brand new inverter less than 2 months ago and on 9/1, it looked like the inverter went down because I am no longer seeing updates on the app that showing energy production so I don't know if my solar panels are producing any energy anymore. Now Renova wants to charge me a $450 service call fee to troubleshoot a brand new inverter they installed. Such greedy company and don't stand by their installation! read more

These guys had big delays but came through in the end. I think they have a referral program for cash back.

I highly recommend Renova Energy and Renova Roofing. Both Ava and Alexa in the office are amazing. Very professional, kind, caring and GREAT at working with customers. All of their staff are awesome and really care about the services they are providing to customers and actually take pride in each job they handle. My son and I have had Renova install our solar systems, and they are life and money savers. My son also had the roofing division take care of an issue with his roof. Work was excellent. You are missing out if you do not contact Renova for a solar system or a roofing issue. read more

Our experience with Renova was excellent! The crew showed up on time every day. They had a great positive attitude and were very friendly with us. We were apprised daily of their status and any updates regarding parts, etc. They showed respect for us, their coworkers and their company. They performed the job in a timely manner, cleaning up the site throughout the day and before they left each day. They met all the criteria for being an excellent, knowledgeable, professional team. We would highly recommend Renova to anyone! We especially thank our amazing Renova team; Angel L. Gustavo R. Joel G. Marcus W. Joanna V. Thank you for a great experience! read more

I truly despise it when people go online and say negative things about a company. When the company does step up to the plate, I really feel people should come back around and update the reviews. Hence, I am updating my review as Renova did step up to the plate and installed a new monitoring device. This new device should've been covered by warranty with Sunpower but we know what's going on with them. However, Renova did step up to the plate and installed a monitoring device for the cost of $1500. We're still about $700+ away from where they should be compensating me, but this is a giant step in the right direction and I truly appreciate that. read more

Jay C. Responded to me from RENOVA . I was NOT given a report as to why my solar panels are not operating properly. I would like that report please . I'm not in the habit of posting reviews but, in this case, I felt it was totally justified. I had an issue with reconfiguring my wireless network and updating the information to my Renova solar system. After getting off to a rough start with the first person I spoke with, Raul Giles - of his own initiative - reached out to me to get the issue resolved. Raul was also instrumental during the installation process last spring, even making sure that it was completed ahead of schedule. Today, Raul stepped up and walked me through the process and was very creative in the process. Who would have thought that a razor blade (very low-tech) would come in handy and help to resolve the issue? In any event, I very much appreciate Raul's expertise, concern and, most of all, his dedication to his clients. Well done, Raul. read more

I've had Renova for several years. I recently added 12 more panels and a battery added. This was probably one of the best installation projects I have seen. The lead tech was fantastic. His goal was that I was happy. The lead roofing mgr was fast and efficient. And the support team let me know what was happening throughout the process, including City inspection and approval. Lastly, the Construction Mgr came on site day 1 and the very last day to train me on the Franklin battery app. The system is working great. I have referred 2 customers before and I will continue to recommend Renova! Great work from everyone! NICE JOB RENOVA! I am super happy! Thank you Renova. I have been a customer for 9 years ...and many more to come! Great Support too! read more

Very satisfied with my Solar purchase and Installation from Renova and rely on them for my regular cleaning as well. And recently returned to Renova to add Battery Backup to the project. Coming back to Renova was a no brainer and working with Arnold Hernandez was a pleasure. Took my multitude of questions and the time to respond with answers that made sense. Always impressed with Renova's business model, it's performance, execution and most of all it's pool of talented staff. Leonard D read more

You cannot choose a better solar company than Renova! I would avoid that membership warehouse's preferred vendor (terrible service reviews). Go local with Renova. Renova is a company that deeply believes in taking care of their employees so that they can focus on the needs of us customers. Our salesman, James Kortmeyer, was awesome, detail-driven and always had a smile. The office staff, Khanitta K. & Nancy V. were responsive to our inquires and messages and always professional. We cannot say enough positive things to about our field crew, Alvaro R., Angel L. & Falcino. These guys are on your side! On the week of your install, be sure to get the names and cell numbers for the crew supervisor or construction manager. If the crew does not show up within 30 minutes of their allotted time, call or text the construction manager or call/email the Project Mangement Assistant back at Renova's office. When setting up your system, the crew will need your wifi info. I simply printed it and taped it to the garage wall on the first day of installation. I would advice customers not to have their garage's interior solar boxes painted. They look just fine unpainted. The wall conduit might need it though. (See images.) Since our existing outdoor electrical panel was maxed out, we paid Renova to upgrade to a larger one so that we could accommodate future expansion. Our panel now includes an Level 2 EV charger. Renova ran the EV charger box for us from the outdoor panel directly into the garage. It really helps to plan ahead for the increase in your use of electricity since your bills should start decreasing. We included a dedicated 220-volt outlet for the conversion of an existing gas range to an induction model. You will need to hire an electrician to run the wiring to your kitchen. If you read many of the other reviews, you will see that Renova stands behind their solar products. They will respond to your inquires even years after the original install. Trust me, this company will be there for you! read more

Renova installed our solar panels in 2021 and we added a Battery wall in 2025, because of getting an EV. Arnold Hernandez was so professional, helpful and patient. He was always available to take my calls and returned missed calls in a very timely manner. I was always kept informed of the installation schedule and the installers were great in answering any questions I had. Many thanks again to Arnold Hernandez from start to finish in keeping me informed of what was happening and for his extreme patience in explaining the NEM process with my new battery. I am very happy with my solar system and If any future needs arise I will be sure to contact Renova. read more

Renova installed my panels about 10 years ago and did a great job. About a week ago I noticed water dripping out of my interior garage circuit breaker panel they installed for the system. It had been raining so I turned off all the breakers in this panel and called Renova. Rather than the real human that used to answer their phone I got an AI "person" called Renovalina. I went through all her questions and left a request for service asap. I have never heard back from them. I went ahead and had an outside contractor come out and fix the leak on the roof that was suppose to seal the wiring from the panels into the garage. It was a simple fix but I learned a lesson that the Renova Energy of today is NOT the company I used years ago that was so highly rated. read more

I've used them for years. They installed my panels and have maintained them. However, when having the panels cleaned on 6/12/2025 they damaged a solar panel and broke some roof tiles. I was contacted and told repairs would be made on 6/23. Well, nobody showed up. I called again. Automated attendant said I was number 100 in the queue. I hung up. Tried again later, and this time, I was able to press "1" to get a call back. That call back happened a day and half later. They said repairs were scheduled for 6/26. On 6/26 they came, replaced the damaged solar panel and said they had to order the tiles they would contact me when they arrived. This morning (July 7) I called again, pressed "1" for a call back. Still waiting. read more

Worst decision of my life was to go with Renova Energy for Solar. Learn from my costly mistake! Don't choose Renova! Prior to deciding to install solar, I conducted months of research before choosing Renova for solar panels. We chose Renova in 2018. The first 5 years were great! Over the past 2-3 years, our panels have not been producing. Our end-of-the-year settlement in 2023 was $2,000. In 2024, the end-of-year settlement jumped to $3700. It took almost 4 months to get Renova and Sun Strong on the same page to schedule a visit. We continue to have problems with our solar. Right now we are already behind by almost $1300. Our solar was out the entire month of June (2025). Renova's response is, "We don't own the lease, so you'll have to call Sun Strong. If we come out without Sun Strong's approval, you will have to pay out of pocket for the work we do on any panels." When we call Sun Strong, they tell us we need to call Renova. Poor customer service! Value and quality of the product is zero, IF the panels are producing. read more

Renova installed both my solar panels and Tesla PowerWall: Extremely satisfied with process: from design, installation, communication and follow-up. I have also used Renova for cleaning and maintenance from point of installation. Now: What in the world has happened to Renova customer service? Last month and several times since, I called (on hold then requested call-back), chatted, emailed - Nothing, Zero. I receive an email stating "Someone from our team will be in touch with you soon." It now has been 26 days of nothing. I have been totally ghosted by Renova. If they have shrunk the area that they service, at least they could be professional enough to respond and state so. read more
