But everyone I interacted with genuinely seemed like they wanted us to have a good time. If it was fake, it was very good acting. From the valet to check in, amazing! Javier checked us in. 7 out of 5. Stress free. The pool area, 8 out of 5. Off the charts. Attention management: I stay at a lot of hotels and resorts. And though I'm sometimes overly generous with my ratings, I can honestly say Dru is the best server I've had, ever. She should run the joint! I wish I could give her a raise. Evan was pretty bad ass too and should be commended! Will I be back? 100 percent. Amazing property, rooms are great, staff is awesome. Food is good, but avoid the breakfast buffet at Rockwood. $40 for powdered eggs is no bueno! Other than that, you'll love it here!

We also enjoyed dinner at Mikado Japanese Steakhouse, where the hibachi experience was both entertaining and delicious. The rooms are a bit underwhelming compared to the rest of the property, but the overall experience more than makes up for it. The pools, grounds, and amenities make this a great place to spend a long weekend. I'd definitely recommend staying here--just be prepared if you're visiting in the summer. The 104-degree desert heat is no joke, so plan on spending plenty of time in the pool and staying hydrated!

Unfortunately, there was no clear signage indicating I had entered through an exit, so I simply drove to an open pump like I would at most gas stations. Almost immediately, other customers seemed upset with me, but I honestly had no idea what I had done wrong. It wasn't until a security guard came over and explained the system that I understood the issue. The entire experience was embarrassing and uncomfortable. If you're new to this station, be aware that there appears to be a specific traffic flow and queue system that may not be obvious to first-time visitors. Personally, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. I'd rather go to Sheeley's, where I can simply pull up to an available pump without confusion, long lines and pissed off ... Sheeley's has plenty of pumps and steady traffic flow, the experience is much easier and far less stressful. Prices are exactly the same.

As you charge your car.. there is a steady stream of in&out burger customers just INCHES in front of your car ! I don't like the fact that I have to worry about whether the nose of my car is going to get hit. Also ... there is more than one grouping of EVGo chargers in the Rancho Las Palmas Shopping Center parking lot ... HOWEVER.... Most of the chargers are down for maintenance .... So now .... Before I get out in this 111 Degree heat ... I call EVGo customer service directly to find out what's working and what's not.... A very stressful and time consuming process :-/

Restrooms are available in the various restaurants but they are locked and you need to get the combo code. The Starbucks employees are the most accommodating for this. The pizza place has great wood fired pizza, I recommend that. Subway is Subway. By getting a bite to eat or an iced beverage you are able to enter an air conditioned space. Sitting in your car with the AC running just lengthens charging time.

We booked two connecting rooms and stayed from Tuesday through Friday. Thankfully, the weather was more comfortable than our trip last July when we stayed next door at the JW Marriott. Now that heat was brutal! However, this time, the temperature was better. Granted, we didn't spend that much time outdoors. On the other hand, this was exactly the kind of vacation we needed. We went out for all of our meals, spent plenty of time hanging out (and napping) in our rooms, and enjoyed a slow, stress-free pace. On Wednesday evening, we headed to the pool, and the weather was ideal. It was around 85 degrees but felt closer to a cool 75. I didn't swim, but I enjoyed lounging by the pool and dipping my feet in the water while everyone else swam. The only drawback was that our air conditioning stopped working Thursday evening. Since we were checking out the next day, it wasn't the end of the world, but I definitely didn't want to spend the night in a warm hotel room with temperatures expected to stay in the high 80s overnight and climb into the 90s the following day. The staff responded quickly and offered either a different room or a portable/window A/C unit. We chose the A/C unit since we didn't feel like moving, and it worked out just fine (thank God!). In short, this was a peaceful, relaxing stay which was exactly what we were looking for. We will definitely return when we need to unwind.

They did give use our keys & building number but would activate the keys when it was ready, come 4 o'clock check in time we still hadn't heard from them. I called & they now said room wouldn't be ready until 5:30 Finally get in & first they don't have elevators & then there are 2 big trees blocking our golf course view Our second day they decide to put a family with 2 small kids in the adjoining room, we have had the full villa with kitchen & living room. Why would they do that is beyond me, we could hear them talking & the lil kids crying...we LOVE KIDS but seriously an adjoining room We definitely will go back to Shadow Ridge
