I called Mendoza yesterday and they sent someone out the next morning. He arrived about 8:45 am on an 8-9am window. I had two new lantern style outdoor motion lights to replace two that were bad. The old ones lit up during daylight sporadically and the plastic sensor cover was broken. Johnny had a good attitude and had to make adjustments to a box that was set too deep. He did it right and the lights are solid. He spent an hour here and charged a reasonable fee for the work. I highly recommend this family operation. These guys are fantastic. The primary feature is that they are mobile and were able to fix my issue within half an hour. It was a smoke alarm that was going off incessantly . Several other companies that I called recommended to me to change the battery. I knew this, but I cannot get up on a ladder to change it . Their crew was courteous, neat and tidy, and went above and beyond to secure and anchor the ceiling fans where the previous installer simply had them patched in to an existing light "box" without any anchoring. It all started with a dead outside outlet. I usually do minor work myself and took a look at this outlet plus the corresponding inside GFI outlet. I could not find any problem so put the cover back on and the outlet POPPED. I mean loud! At that point I knew I was in over my head and called Mendoza Electric--the company that installed a Square D panel for me 2 1/2 years ago. The Mendoza team arrived several hours later and immediately rewired several of the outlets using pigtails and connecting screws instead of the problematic push-in terminals. But...problem still not fixed. Finally they took apart a second outside GFI outlet and discovered that it was active but was not passing voltage to the defective outlet--a pretty complex problem. We needed to have overhead lighting installed so we got some bids. Mendoza Electric was the only one who actually went into our crawl space to see if the installation could be done without tearing up drywall in 3 rooms. And YES it could! Their bid was very fair. The project started within a few days and was completed in one day. They had 2 crews using a fishline so they would not have to destroy our drywall. And get this - when they took their lunch they cleaned up before leaving. And then they came back and finished the job. We will definitely use this company again. Armando and Jr. arrived right on time and were wearing masks as well as pressed button-down shirts. Button-down shirts might not be your thing, but I liked them! Not only did they look professional, the behaved professionally with frequent "Yes, sirs" and "Yes, ma'ams." They installed our new pendant light for us over the kitchen sink. They carefully covered the work area before they began, and cleaned up well when they were done. They were cheerful even though we asked them to try several different lengths of downrods to see which looked best. To do that, poor Armando had to climb in and down the ladder several times. But like I said, he was very friendly and cheerful while doing it. This is a family business (dad, two sons, an uncle) and nothing feels better than helping to support a local family in these awful times. It wasn't a particularly tricky job but there were things that weren't standard and they knew how to handle them and get the job done. Overall, were very happy with Mendoza Electric. We have been using Medoza Electric for years, and they have been great with everything from a failure in our main breaker panel that left us with no electricity on a Friday night when it was 110° (they came and had us fixed in just a few hours with a new panel) to wiring for a sink disposal and water filter. Today, they did new remote controllable lamps in our master bedroom and new hanging lamps in the recreation room and the living room.
