BAD EXPERIENCE WITH BRADLEY ELECTRIC. What once was a local family business has now been sold to someone in Los Angeles who charges ridiculous rates. Bill Bradley put in all my art lights in 2017. One of the bulbs burnt out and being 77 years old, I didn't want to get on ladder to change a bulb in a high ceiling. So I called Bradley Electric and told them I was a former customer and needed help changing a light lightbulb. At the time I didn't realize it was a "different company", but I did notice the call was taken on a cell number from Los Angeles. Anyway, they came out and changed the bulb and I got a bill for $228 -- $210 labor, $18 for the bulb. Outrageous. I called and asked for a discount, he took $8 off the bulb and told me $210 was fair for the labor since he dispatched a truck. So I paid $220 to have a bulb replaced. It gets worse. They used an LED replacement for the halogen bulb saying it was now a requirement. The rep told me he did have a halogen replacement on the truck. The next day the LED bulb started flickering and went out. I called the new owner and he told me I had a bad fixture. He said they would replace the fixture at a reduced labor cost. I suggested that a halogen replacement might work. He disagreed. Not satisfied with his response, I purchased halogen bulbs on Amazon and replaced the LED with the halogen. Yes, I braved it getting up on the ladder, but it's now working fine. I found that the LED Bradley used was too big for the fixture- it was crammed it making it hard to remove. Probably the reason it was flickering. CANNOT RECOMMEND BRADLEY ELECTRIC. THEY ARE NOT THE FAMILY BUSINESS THAT WAS ONCE IN THE DESERT. read more

A bit of a warning--- we have been using Bradley Electric since we moved here 15 yrs ago. Recently we called them as we wanted to discuss a whole home surge protector. Hubby never got a call back after a few tries, so I called. Finally, got a return call from a mobile number I did not recognize and was told phones had been out. This should have been my first clue. While trying to set an appointment for surge protector info/view of panel, our sprinklers went out, and gardener said it was either the GFCI or a breaker. Called for an appointment. Service man came out- it was the GFCI. Was here MAYBE 30 minutes. Got the bill last week - $295. Part appx $35, yep. $210 per hour (YIKES)+ 1/2-hour additional charge (FOR WHAT?). Hubs called as I said the MAX rate for an electrician is $150, and closer to $100 in practice. Apparently, Mr. Bradley sold the firm to a guy from LA who told my husband that $210 is the going rate here and "everyone" charges that. He took $50 off the bill and husband paid it, which I am not happy about. Regardless of that, water under the bridge and the reason for my warning. This rate + additional half hour is outrageous and after years of being customers, it was truly unexpected. So just a warning as things at a great company have definitely changed. And the electrician who came out (who smelled like a walking ashtray) started looking around our kitchen and told me how our recessed lights no longer comply with a new law (Title 24 I think he said). The bulbs just need to be replaced with LED, and eventually will be, and I wondered if I was a little old lady would he scare me into a really big job? I did not like the feeling of up selling and I know some firms reward workers for this. Just a bad experience all around and very "bait and switch" as to the labor rate. Very sad so just a warning. We hired Bradley to replace our electrical panel. The office administrator, Melissa G., is beyond incompetent. Because of her personal bungling with the schedule, including failure to contact Edison with the proper days' notice, and failure to coordinate with the City of Palm Springs inspectors, we were without power for FIVE DAYS! She sent me an email when the job was over stating that "everything went well." Sure. It went well for her, but it definitely did NOT go well for us. If FIVE DAYS doesn't seem like a big deal to be without power, I recommend you unplug your refrigerator, lose what's in your freezer, turn off your water heater (pilot light is electric), so cold showers, bye-bye morning coffee and hair dryer, no TV, no music, can't charge your cell phone, no wifi, and sit in a dark house with only flashlights for lights for five days. After you've done that, let me know if FIVE DAYS without power is a big deal or not. read more

Find a different electrician. They are not honest with their billing practices (they charge by the hour and over-report the time, driving up your bill), and if you do not pay the amount they over-report, they send your account to a collection agency. It's like extortion!! RUN. read more

I thought people should know about my experience with Bradley Electric. They were referred to me by another contractor. I called them to see if they'd give me a price to do some work for me from some plans. They gave me their email address and I emailed them, asking if they received my email. No response. A few days went by, so I called them back, and asked if they ever got the email. The lady that answered said there was no plans attached. I said, I know, I wanted to make sure you got my email before I sent you the plans. She said it looks like spam, and then hung up on me. I called back, no answer, voicemail. I left a VM. I wanted people to know about my experience with Bradley Electric, so perhaps they don't waste their time with them like I did. read more

I would NEVER use this company again and am currently pursuing legal action against them. After breaking a light fixture they installed, having one of two men watch while the other installed light fixtures and then walking off the job before completing the work that the owner, Mr, Bradley, agreed to perform, the company sent our account to a collections service. We paid the bill after deducting for breaking the light fixture and walking off the job, but the company refused to honor our claim and sent our account to collections. We are now pursuing legal action against both the company and the collections agency. read more

I was referred to Bradley Electric. I had a very challenging job. There were two, 13 light pendant fixtures with 10 lbs. (each) lead crystal lights. Bradley Electric had to follow guidelines in the installation manual and build a box reinforcement square in the ceiling joists. These fixtures are over 100 lbs. each. Once they built the ceiling support system, then they went to the electrical. They sourced the exact model LED dimmer this unit required, and did beautiful electric work without cutting up the drywall. The 2 installers were incredibly careful and considerate of my home, and really took care to keep it clean. Drop cloths everywhere, and careful work. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone who is seeking not the least expensive, but rather the best electrical contractor. I'm 100% pleased. Money well-spent. read more

The most expensive electricians in the valley. Came to my house, took advantage that I knew nothing about the problem, and gave me an outrages quote. I am certain that if I was a guy I wouldn't have been treated or talked to the way they did. They charged me $85 to come to my house, insult me and turned off a breaker. I called a second electric company that gave me more than one option and explain the issue thoroughly, they capped of the wires, and replaced the breaker for FREE because the problem was with my pool pump equipment and nothing to do with my electric panel. read more

Beware of this company , I read reviews on Yelp and thought maybe I should try them out. I called them and bill came to my house and gave me a quote which was very reasonable and I agreed to have them run power and install ceiling fans in two rooms. Work was done and workers were very nice! After I was contacted and was billed for a completely different price that I was quoted which was very ridiculous. Complained and complained but they didn't give to shits what I had to say all they worried about was getting their money .. I will never use this company again and make sure that everyone I know that needs electrical done knows to stay away from Bradley's electric. read more

Called for some fluorescent light units that had gone out. Had called other electrician companies and no one could come out same day...someone even quoted me a week! Well, of course I couldn't wait that long so took a chance and called Bradley Electric. I'm glad I did! They sent Dan out the same day. He was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and fixed the problems without cleaning out my bank account! I was actually pleasantly surprised it cost what it did for the work performed. Called Bradley yesterday for an appt today at our home away from home in La Quinta. They were able to send someone out for us that accommodated our schedule. Lisa who took our initial call and follow up calls gave us a courtesy 1/2 hour heads up call which was very helpful and within that window, Larry, showed up and assessed the problem with our GFI outlets in all our bathrooms. He rewired to account for higher wattage appliances to alleviate the overloading of the circuits. He was friendly, efficient, on time, clean and wore booties to protect our newly cleaned carpets. New homeowner, older home, lots of changes throughout. Noticed a Bradley Electric truck parked next door, saw a gentleman getting ready to leave and went over to ask a couple questions. Turns out he was the owner. Bill came inside and looked around at what we wanted to do. Scheduled service soon after and had the pleasure of meeting Dan. This guy knows everything! What I also love; he always asks before he leaves, 'anything else?' And there usually is. He happily fixes whatever it was I just remembered I needed done. Bradley Electric has been coming through for us ever since. I called shortly after closing one Friday expecting to leave a message and to my surprise Bill answered the phone. My air conditioning went out along with copy machine and other electronics. On Cinco de Mayo , 103* outside. I phoned Bradley and the lady said an electrician would be out in 30 minutes. Ok. In 29 minutes Dan showed up. Jumped right in on the breaker box and checked the fuse box In the common area of the businesses. One fuse was blow out of three. He replaced one fuse( could have told me all three, but didn't) and checked the roof signage to make sure that didn't trigger the blowout. 45 minutes and excellent job done by Dan. $145.00 total bill including parts. Not bad. We are a new business on El Paseo, PRECIOUS METALS REFINERY. THANK SO MUCH. read more

The breaker to my AC went was faulty. I called Bradley at 8 am and Dan was at my house by 10 am and replaced the breaker and had my AC running by 10:45 am. Fair prices and Great customer service!!! I had a small problem in my home and I spotted the Bradley Electric truck and spoke to Larry Palmer to ask him if he would take a few minutes and look at my problem. They were extremely busy but a call into the office confirmed he could drop by and take a look. Larry fixed the problem in minutes because he was knowledgeable about his profession, he was a delightful man who cares about his employer and his job. Love them. Had a new chandelier with 52 pieces of hand blown glass. They came, installed something to brace the weight of the chandelier, hung it and installed each piece of glass. They care about the quality of their work. They are very accommodating and their office staff is terrific. All that and a reasonable price makes me a huge fan. read more
