I reached out to Hughes Home Services for the first time to work on the exterior of my home that had many areas that needed addressing . The project took longer than anticipated to no fault of Hughes. I kept adding more things to be done along the way. Often when doing repairs or remodel on a home it is discovered that more needs to be done than anticipated. Jason was sent out to do the job. Hughes along the way described Jason as an artist which he really is. He was very detailed. There was no complaints from either Hughes or Jason about the job getting bigger and bigger . Hughes came by where I work to discuss the job in detail early on which shows me he cares and that goes a long way. I felt Hughes was very fair with the pricing of the job considering how it grew. The work was very well done. I highly recommended Hughes Home Services. Thanks for everything . read more

Good work done fast on short notice My condo was in Indian Wells CA Hughes did a great job read more

A non-starter. A - the quote for flooring repair had a 100% markup of what it should have cost. B - their communication and quote were absurd. We discussed specific flooring and baseboard work with sqft and their quote came back with no descriptions of the project. Just a general handyman description. These are not experts. These are possibly middlemen who find the right talent and then charge you for their lead, but offer no value whatsoever in the process. read more

There's something shady going on with this company. You decide.... I called Hughes Home Services in advance because I wanted to make arrangements for them to get the projects I needed done while my husband was away on a trip. The list of projects had been on a honey do list for quite some time. I decided to surprise my husband for Father's Day and get them done. A win win in my opinion. I was asked for a list several times from Hughes. Each time I sent the the list. Then I was explained that someone would come over to look at the projects and give me an estimate for them. They were supposed to come over on a Saturday. The day after my husband left. It was changed to the following Monday. The guy he sent over on Monday mentioned that he owned his own Construction Company and that he was working with Hughes temporarily while he was in between jobs. I assume this guy gave them the list of projects after looking at them. The estimate from Hughes was incomplete and didn't make any sense. I asked for a complete estimate several times. For some reason it seemed to be a problem. Because Hughes' estimate was so incomplete and I wanted to get these projects done I asked the guy who showed up for an estimate. His quote was high, especially for the quality of work that was done (things started coming apart and undone a month or so after they completed the projects) but I had him complete everything anyway. When I had informed the woman I had spoken with from Hughes Home Services that I would be using this person and his estimate they sent over, she didn't seem to be bothered by the fact I wouldn't be using their services. I called Hughes Home Services because of the great reviews they receive. Not sure anymore if one can trust reviews on Yelp because this isn't the first time a business hasn't lived up to the reviews. read more

Hughes and Nick (the handyman that came to our home) were incredible! Hughes was extremely good about telling us timing and if there were any changes to the schedule which is immensely appreciated. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! In the last month, both Jason and Hughes have been to my home to address an exterior door frame issue (plus a couple of other small items) on two separate occasions. Not only were both of them kind and respectful, but equally knowledgeable. I felt right at ease with them in my home and clearly caring about what they were doing. While this is still a work in progress, I have NO DOUBT I am in good hands and look forward to seeing them again! I am so excited about having HUGHES in my corner as my "go to" handymen Please do not hesitate to contact this company. You will not be sorry! read more

Hughes Home Services were very quick to respond. The response was almost immediate even though it was a Saturday late afternoon/evening that I requested a quote. 7:26pm was the time that I sent my address to Hughes. Darryl came to my front door shortly after that, took off his shoes, fixed a drawer from my file cabinet and was gone by 8:00pm. And the actual charge was lower than the quote. I was very pleased with the service and plan to use them again! read more

They do things right!! Calving is a perfectionist and has what is needed as a handyman. Thank you Hughes.

Reached out to Hughes Home Services based on their location and rating. Response time was quick. I advised that we needed some window cornices customized (purchased from Home Depot) as the standard shape would not allow for cornices over windows in corners. Liam came to see the cornices and to determine if he could help us. After a few minutes of looking at what he had to work with, he decided that he could miter the two cornices that met (where we had corner windows) and would be happy to hang those and the rest. Took him all of 3ish hours to get the supplies he needed, make the cuts and hang the cornices. All for a very reasonable price. He cleaned up after himself leaving no indication he'd been here (other than all the new cornices hanging over our windows). Five stars all around for this company...so glad to have found them!! read more

Hughes answered the phone himself, which is always refreshing. He had one of his team out to do a relatively simple plumbing job on the same day. Liam then did other little things that needed doing while he was there. Highly recommended read more

Awesome service Liam was on time and completed everything on our list. Changed faucets, ceiling fan, installed door bell and a little more small items. Highly recommend this business! We will be scheduling another service on e we get a quote back. read more

My girlfriend and I have had Hughes work on a few things in our new house in the La Quinta Cove and everything has turned out great. He's very responsive, knows his stuff, and is actually fun to be around (which is a nice touch). He had all of his own equipment and kept our place very clean as he moved through the projects we had for him. He also was very, very clear about us being happy with his work before finishing up so that we were 100% satisfied with everything. Specifically, the first project he worked on were removing a lighting fixture over our dining room table, patching it up, and then running two new pennant lights in it's place. He handled all of the drywall work as well as the electrical with no issues. He's apparently done a lot of these types of jobs before, which I could tell by how easily he knocked it out for us. The second job was mounting some lights and shelving in one of our bedrooms, which was super easy for him to take care of and would have probably taken me a few hours to do myself (with way worse results, I'm sure). As I'm typing this I've already scheduled Hughes to come back again to help us mount a really heavy mirror in another bedroom as well as get our outdoor lighting up and running how we want it to look. It needs some serious love. Anyway, if you're around La Quinta / Palm Desert area, I couldn't recommend Hughes enough. Just don't take up all of his time, we still have a few more projects on our list. :) read more

Hughes and his team were an absolute pleasure to have come to my business and fix my vintage refrigerator cabinets. A fantastic much needed fix. Hughes summed up the job in a flash during the first visit. He ordered the hard to get vintage door looks and handles and as soon as they arrived I got a text and they were installed, perfectly the next day. I also hired Hughes to install my mailbox at my new home. On time and in short order my mailbox was perfectly set on the sidewalk. I will be hiring Hughes whenever I need a tough job done...! read more
