I've been to alot of dive bars and have never seen provided moisterizer. How quaint!

I've always been a fan of dive bars bc I hate getting overcharged for basic food/drinks and I prefer the laid back atmosphere over the hype. I was pleasantly surprised by The Sloop. I stopped in on a windy weekday night. My husband and I both got layed off essentially and we needed a date night out really bad. I was surprised to find how lively it was on a rainy weekday night and it was after 9PM. The people were nice and it was pretty busy. They have a juke box, 1 plastic/automated dart board, and a pool table and really cool antique memorabilia that made me fall in love with this local divey spot. The bartender/server was incredibly nice, honest, and knowledgeable of the menu items. She did not hold back and I appreciated that. I forgot her name (possibly Kaydee), but she mentioned she had been working at The Sloop for over 20 years. She made alterations to our order for us with zero difficulty and was extremely pleasant. She allowed us to try a few draft beer samples before making a selection, which was really nice. My husband got a full steak dinner special (recomended by another patron) and definetly overordered bc we brought home a ton of leftovers. The hit for me was the 55 oz gigantic beer that I got to slug around after trying a few complimentary samples. It was filled with deliciousness and was very fun to hold. The fantastic painted murals all down the alley and in the back of the bulding were anlother highlight. Overall I really enjoyed the experience and will definitely return.

We stopped in before a movie at the Nordic museum. I've missed going to dive bars! The Green carpet is a vibe. There are 2 Pool tables and a few arcade games. Plenty of indoor seats and 3-4 Outside tables. The beer was average. There are even Lottery cards for sale.

Great dive bar with great service! Food is average and cheap! Oh yeah and a great price on beer! I've been going to The Sloop for years and years. One of my favorite spots in Ballard to grab a quick beer and eats. Dog friendly and they have a small area for outside seating when the sun is out. Darts and pool too!

Excellent vibe. Pretty wide open, way bigger inside than it looks. Pool, arcade games, affordable bar food. Clean-ish. Pints or giant beers, good selection on tap and in bottles. Off the Ballard Ave drag so definitely more of a locals bar.

Sloop is a cozy spot in Ballard. We enjoyed two plates of 2-piece cod fish and chips that came with the option of regular fries, waffle fries, or salad. There were multiple choices for dips/dressings as well, and we chose to try the blue cheese for our salad. Salad portions were generous, the fish were fresh, and we really liked the waffle fries. The staff who served us was attentive and friendly too. There were some game machines on the other side of the bar -- looked like a fun place to come with friends on evenings!

Great place to stop by if you're around the area. I was at the Ballard Lock and after me and my friend came here for lunch. Found out this place is awesome. Cozy, vibing, and dive bar style. I looked at the menu and wow the food here is great and generous price for what the economy is nowadays. Mostly everything is still under $10! You can't beat that. I will support this local Tavern fosho! Overall, definitely will be back here!

Nautical themed Ballard Bar on the "outer limits", so it's not in the typical twenty-something Ballard fray. Nightly food specials make it hard to choose from the special and the regular menu items. Home to beer batter fish and chips huge schooners of beer "the sloop". The Nachos are good and plenty even on the half order, and there is a good selections of apps. Roomy tables, bar seating, and pool tables make for a fun place. The service is friendly and attentive.

The Sloop is the last tavern in Ballard so of course my wife and I had to go check it out. Free parking can be found on the street or in the back of the Sloop. Visa and MasterCard are accepted forms of payment. Indoors one will find: pull tabs, arcade games, darts, pool tables and TVs. The Sloop offers a decent selection of craft draft beer. The Sloop offers an extensive food menu that pairs nicely with beer. My wife and I each ordered a Sloop size (34oz) Manny's and Seapine IPA for $10 each. Frosty deliciousness paired nicely with a sunshiny day. We shared the Mini Corn Dog (qty 8) appetizer for $5. My wife loves these little nuggets so she was thrilled to see them listed on the menu. Our server, Wil was outstanding. Friendly, knowledgeable, funny and happy. If you like unassuming and unpretentious places as much as my wife and I do, be sure to drop into The Sloop the next time you're in Ballard. Thank you Sloop for keeping it chill.

As a cider fan, I was especially happy to see a solid variety of options. Although I had a frustrating experience with the kitchen, but I'd still come back. It was an especially hectic day with multiple events and a soccer game, so it seemed like everyone arrived at once. I ended up waiting about an hour for my food, which was disappointing. That said, the staff handled the situation really well, there was consistent communication, and they took the time to engage with us, which I appreciated. Still, the kitchen delays and order issues shouldn't be overlooked. On the bright side, the drinks were excellent and reasonably priced. They also have a great selection of games, which I'm looking forward to trying next time. The location is another plus, just a few minutes' walk from the T-Link, making it very convenient.

Still decent, just not something I'd rave about. The mini golf is definitely the highlight. It's really cute how the course spells out "SEATTLE," and I loved the little Space Needle to end the last of the mini golf holes. That said, there are only 9 holes and they're pretty small, so it goes by quickly. Drinks are all on tap and feature local/Washington breweries, which I really appreciated. I love supporting local! We came during their February deal and it was such a great value -- $45 for a pizza, two pint glasses to take home, two drinks, and unlimited games. Honestly, that made the experience feel totally worth it. Duffleboard was fun, though it looked a little outdated. They also had cornhole and a ping pong table, which made it feel like like there variety of things to do. Loved the vibes/ambiance (fun art and murals) and music. Overall, a fun spot for a casual hangout -- especially if you catch one of their deals!

The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!

They gave us these post cards to write down our individual drinks. FYI - this place requires using your smart phone to scan a QR code for the menu. We ordered 2 apps (salmon dip with pita chips & chips and cheese dip) I ordered fish and chips. Buddy got the meat loaf. Our beer showed up quick. Waiter always checked on us often. Our apps showed up and they were both delicious. Then 5 minutes later our main dish orders showed up. Wasn't too happy with that because we wasted time to taste our beers and snack on the apps. They need to work on their timing. Need at least 10 minutes in between the beer and apps. The food overall is admittedly top notch. Fish and chips FRESH! The fish was juicy and the fried crust was perfection. Pieces were large. They will ask if you want 3 or 4. 3 is enough. If they can work on timing the drinks and food this place would be a 5 out 5, but will deduct a star because of that. The overall vibe of the place was nice. Huge layout with wooden picnic style tables. Outdoor tables if you're lucky to get one. Large tanks to brew beer surrounding the room and a merch table.
