Been a regular here for about 6 months and can't say enough about these guys (namely Mike, Dawson, and Elizabeth). Service has always been awesome, and if you want just bar food, or a solid meal, they have great options for both. Everything is cooked fresh and is great quality for a great price. It's a perfect combination of a laid back, yet fun spot to hit up any day of the week. They always have new beers on tap, and are great at making recommendations based on the kind of beer you like. I even recently had my birthday here, which they were great at accommodating the tables, and providing great service. As long as I live in the Knox/Henderson area, this will continue to be my go to spot. read more

Great bar .....great service. I went to shell shack bar but left Due to horrible service. The bar at Skellig was busier than shell shack but as soon as I sit down bartender approached me and I ordered a drink and food within five minutes of my arrival. That's great service and Bravo. This place is great (a huge improvement from the old J Blacks)! We came here on Halloween, sat at the bar and had a couple drinks and snacks. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The one gentleman that waited on us was very passionate about their concept. He told us everything is made in house and when we got our food, you could tell. We ordered the pâté, cured salmon and the fried chicken biscuits. While they we're all delicious, it was the fried chicken biscuits that stood out as fantastic. If you go (and you should) you absolutely must order them. We'll be back very soon and I hope this place has a long life on Henderson. read more

Went to The Skellig on November 5, 2022 which as some may know was games 6 of the Major League Baseball World Series. This means that a team, the Houston Astros, had a chance of clinching the World Series Title. I spoke with several bartenders politely asking to turn the game on, on one of the 15 TVs inside. He told me that no one wanted to watch the game and that he didn't care what I wanted to watch. I told him that it was the biggest baseball game of the year and no one cared about the UH vs SMU football game. He didn't care. He proceeded to tell me that "no one wants to watch that f***ing game." This is a shock to me considering the Houston Astros are from Texas and The Skellig is a bar in Texas. I was very disappointed in their lack of accommodation or even care for accommodation. I wouldn't recommend this establishment to anyone. And I also recommend that management work to choose more appropriate employees. But I will say that if any of y'all have friends that take pride in being rude and impolite, this would be a great place of employment for them and if you don't like watching major sporting events please attend this bar read more

I haven't written a Yelp review in a very long time, but I felt like I had to write one for Skellig. The service was absolutely phenomenal. My friend and I sat outside and they went out of their way to find insect repellent for us to use. Our waitress also checked in on us very often and made sure we were well taken care of. On top of the service, the food was great too. Happy hour has $2.50 domestic bottles and $1 off drafts. The menu is also not pricey at all (I got a double cheese burger for only $12). Overall, I highly recommend this place and I will be back soon. read more

Was a regular here before I moved out of the area and couldn't walk there anymore. Broke my heart to leave it because it was my go-to bar and I loved it. I would always suggest this place for happy hour because of their complimentary nuts and chips. So good! The Thursday night drink specials are phenomenal. You won't regret the Pineapple Smash. My only beef with this place was the super slow service. Sometimes it's hard to get the staff to pay attention to you. Expect long wait times. My friends and I are frequent locals here at skellig and I have NEVER experienced service like what we received from Brooke (she is a new hire @management) and she made sure our drinks were always full and helped us find an outside table. That being said; SEAN is our boy even before we knew Brooke. He is always a joy to see and has great customer service skills. I test a place by its fried chicken and they pass with shining colors. Seasoned flavorful and crispy! The jalapeño gravy is thick saucy heaven with just enough heat. My boyfriend's chicken sandwich satisfies with homemade chips that were crispy and not overly brown as homemade chips tend to be. Leaving out one star because alas it smells like sour beer in some places. read more

The Skellig was such a great experience! The customer service was amazing! Our server, Aurora, was awesome. She managed to serve a large group of 20 so smooth and efficiently! She was so friendly, sweet, and patient with such a large group of people. Additionally she managed all our orders even when people were moving. The manager, Lauren, was so friendly and accommodating as well! The food was delicious and drinks were amazing! My boyfriend and friend and I came here on a Saturday night and sat on the patio. It was very crowded as Saturday nights typically are. Ashley was the best server I have had in months, if not, ever. Not only was she super nice, professional, and attentive, but she literally protected us from creepy dudes that were hitting in my friend. She was more than a server, she was more of a friend I've known forever. This is a place I love to patronize and now I this is a lifetime recommendation for me. Excellent choice in staff! read more

If someone offers you multiple shots of Jameson at the Skellig... RUN. The Skellig is definitely one of the more divey bars on Knox/Henderson and you know what, that's perfectly A-OK. They have plenty of beers on top and they're one of the few places in Dallas that I've noticed has the Peticolas Velvet Hammer stocked all the damn time. And if you've drank with me before, you know I like me some Velvet Hammer. The food here is alright. It's nothing to write home about. Typical bar food fare - their pretzels are pretty tasty. But other than that, I wouldn't come here for the food. I'd definitely come back here for the booze and the late night shenanigans. read more

Perfect little pub. We are new to the area and are on the hunt for great neighborhood spots. This did not disappoint. Good pub/bar food. Chill vibe. Plenty of tvs to catch a game. 1. The food is the best bar food I've ever had, and it's not even close. The cauliflower soup is excellent. The double stack burger reminds me of a higher quality Jake's burger. I was afraid the corned beef grilled cheese would have dry beef but it was delicious. People I was with absolutely loved the fried chicken and the smoked salmon. Even something as simple as chips and peanuts are done perfectly - the chips are homemade and bacon flavored and the nuts have a delicious chipotle lime seasoning. You can tell they put a lot of thought and effort into the menu and food quality. 2. Bartenders and servers are very personable and helpful. They make a point of remembering your name and engaging in conversation. This is par for the course with this ownership group. 3. Great space - the large center bar is perfect and I'm really looking forward to patio season here. Lots of cool stuff on the walls, including an enormous, gorgeous hand painted mural. Free shuffleboard table and darts. Good TV setup - it's not a sports bar but if you don't need sound and want to watch a game in the background this place will work. 4. Beer selection is good. Probably about 20 beers on tap. Prices are inoffensive. Bartenders know the menu and provide good recommendations. This is now my go to place if I have friends or family in town. Love it! read more

Amazing food!!!! The turkey club and the cauliflower soup are the best I've ever had. Dallas is home to lousy service but this bar exceeded our expectations every time. Great food, similar to the Old Monk in pub atmosphere and menu quality but less crowded since they're newer and larger. Nice service, attentive bartenders and a great patio. The poached pear and cheese salad was fantastic with grilled chicken and the veggie burger is a bit crumbly but stacked with toppings and great taste. Our waitress , Hali, took our credit card and I had to track her down to retrieve it. The final straw as to why you should NOT go here or at least keep your receipt is that she took it upon herself to add an additional tip to the receipt. I contacted management 5 days ago to inform them of this and they stated they would give me a credit which NEVER HAPPENED! Skellig is one of our favorite, reliable brunch spots. Mimosa carafe with various juice options and bloody Mary's are both great. At night, I opt for the basil sour! So yum! The patio area is better than the interior as far as atmosphere goes. There are heaters on the patio and it's very dog friendly. Just a good, easy place to grab a drink or several. The El Chapo is very strong....trying to forget that night. There are some nice food options. The only thing that might've lost them a star is the service...which has been hit or miss. I've had GREAT service there but I've also had pretty lackluster service more than a few times. read more

I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars.... I live right around the corner and have been to Skellig a handful of times. I feel like their beer selection is lacking and strangely, a little flat. Their food has been hit or miss. But when you order something good, it's really REALLY good. Have had ok service, and have been meaning to try a different drink here instead of beer, so as for now I'll give them 3 stars and consider adding a 4th if their other drink selections prove to be better than their beer has. read more
