My go to sandwich place in Milpitas. It's small business husband & wife team. They are amazing people. The sandwiches are hearty and tasty.

They took over 25 minutes to make my sandwich and it didn't seem that busy. Honestly kinda disappointed with the wait.

Great sandwiches. Ordered #26 Gordon Vayo and it was packed! Got it on a dutch crunch bread and it was super crunchy but not too hard that it will rip your gums. Good amount of meat that was not too chewy, especially for a tri-tip. I love their sauce, specifically the psycho sauce which is full of flavor. Service is friendly, but it does get busy during lunch time. Very sports-centric menu and decor. read more

In contrast to my most recent other review, this place is great. I usually get The Home Depot, and the owner, when he's there gives me "Italian Style" which includes balsamic and something else. Service is great. The cost is reasonable. It's on par with other fast sandwich places and the quality is so much higher. There's nothing wrong with the ambiance. It would probably be better if the place got more walk in customers like it deserves to. As is, it feels a little quiet. Pro Tip: It's off menu, but you can get Girl Scout cookies ~6 months out of the year here. read more

Best sandwich spot in Milpitas. They have a ton of options to choose from. What makes it though is the fresh bread and the sauces. The meat is tender and fresh on all off their sandwiches. It's a small place but has a lot of seating. The service is good but there is one guy who does a fantastic job. Not sure if he is the manager or not. Not sure if it was a bad day, since this place is usually super good.. but it was super lacking! Service was friendly and attentive to our selections, but the dutch crunch bread (which is usually SO good) was soggy and stale... I got the San Jose Spartan and the inside was filling, but it made my bread soggy immediately.. There were lots of tables to eat at too, but the soda machine wasn't working and water was in the tea containers which made it a bit confusing. Hopefully it was just a bad day! (located across from Macaroni Grill) We discovered them 3 years ago and although it changed ownership within the last year or so, both the original owners and the current ones are wonderful and welcoming people. I also loooove the Bay Area Sports ambience when coming in. I was able to place an order over the phone: the Shark Tank (light on the peppers and cream cheese) and a side of potato salad (about $17). When I got to the store about 10 minutes later, I noticed they also sold fresh baked chocolate oat cookies for $2 and picked one up too. The sandwich was a decent size and had a lot of different fixings included. The dutch crunch was fresh and sweet but I wish there was a little more turkey since my last few bites were just bread and cream cheese. However, I believe my sandwich came with the bomb sauce, so I ordered the other two sauces on the side and it elevated the sandwich so much more. The potato salad was also really good and creamy but the cookie was a little sweeter than I liked. Overall, definitely a solid lunch that I really enjoyed! read more

Came here since me and my girlfriend booked at the Hilton for Halloween weekend, right next to Big Al's. Great sandwiches, solid portions, fresh ingredients, and the service was nice and quick. There was sooo many different kinds of sandwiches but I settled for something with chicken on toasted Dutch crunch with their special house sauce. All they offer is Gatorade and soda. I've never been to a deli sandwich place that doesn't have Snapple, Nantucket nectar, other juice options... Also, no air-conditioning inside on a 90° day. I was literally sweating when I left. Regardless, this entire area is like a black hole for good delis. I would rate them a 3.5 if I could cause the lack of AC and lack of any type of beverage I would ever consider drinking is sort of a big deal. The lack of beverages is the real dealbreaker for me. Still, I gave them a 4 because I don't want to hurt their business by giving them a 3 and the sandwiches are good (not excellent, but good). read more

This place was such a cool place with so many options for pre made recipes. Such a vast variety of options. I have a traditional salami sandwich and my husband had the traditional turkey. We wanted to be adventurous but we couldn't decide on all the available options. The staff had a lot of patience and the quality was definitely there there. Excellent sandwiches and just overall great experience. When you walk in, you're greeted with a very clean and fun environment with Bay Area decor everywhere you look. Service was extremely kind and friendly. Sandwiches all have fun names and the ones I've tried have all been great. Big fan of The Bay 101 and The Shark Tank. Bread choices are also good (and obviously key for a sandwich), but I love their wheat roll. Great spot and highly recommended for a good sandwich! read more

I ordered the Angry Bird w/ Dutch crunch and it was pretty good! When you look at what's in it, you'd probably wouldn't choose it bc of how much meat is in there(hot pastrami, marinated chicken and bacon). They pack enough where it's not too overwhelming. The sauce did drip everywhere tho. I usually love Dutch crunch but today seemed like it was one of those breads that was sitting there for awhile. Not sure if I just have to ask for it to be toasted? I've had better sandwiches throughout the bay area, but this place is still pretty good. I like that you can easily customize your order and that they offer a pretty large menu. I got the Ebay without roast beef. The salami and pastrami were delicious, the dutch crunch bread was decent, good consistency with a bit of a sweet flavor. They don't have mozarella cheese, but I got provolone and it was fine. The sauce didn't wow me the way other chains/restaurants have a recognizable secret sauce, ie. Ike's... but the overall quality of the sandwich and toppings was still good. The place is pretty hidden that I didn't know it even existed, but it was clean, and service was efficient. The worker spoke fairly quickly. I don't mind, I like fast service, but I can see how someone may feel rushed ordering. Limited seating outdoors and inside. This is a "big, saucy sandwich with funny names" kind of place - think Ike's, Mr. Pickles, and other similar hometown favorites. Hot meats, melty cheese, fresh veggies and bread. Been here twice and honestly forgot the names of what I got, but they were good both times. Haven't been here in quite some time, but happy I went by to buy some sammies last week. There are a lot of food options nearby, so I can see how I kind of forgot about it. It's under new management, since I was last here and they are very friendly and accommodating. The service here is top notch and that hasn't changed under the new ownership, which is a plus. My wife enjoyed her Phil Helmuth on a sourdough roll. I also enjoyed my Splash Brothers on a sweet french roll. The breads here are always baked fresh and hold-up well with all the ingredients. Was in the area so decided to give The Sandwich Spot a try. I like Pastrami so ordered The eBay ($11.99 or $13.11 after tax) which had pastrami and roast beef cheese combination on dutch crunch bread. Small amount of meat that did not reach to the end of the bread roll and only few strands of red onions. The bread at the end of the sandwich was hard so I peeled it off and tossed it. Service was good, acknowledging me when I came to the cash and advising me that she would be right with me. Sandwich was made quickly once ordered. Also, do not know who is responsible for cleaning the garbage receptacle in front of the restaurant but it was overflowing and an unsightly mess that almost made me turn around to leave., No stars deducted for this since I do not know who is responsible for maintenance of this area. Overall, did not enjoy my sandwich at all and will not be returning hence the 1 star rating is only my opinion on the food. read more

The staff here are very courteous and quick to make their sandwiches. I enjoy their pastrami/reuben sandwich and the halal chicken sandwich, which reminds me of a really good BBQ chicken sandwich. New to milpitas and my favorite sandwich is bbq tri-tip since this place was the only one that came up I decided to give it a try even though it seemed more of a deli sandwich place, anyway I called in (3) times to order for pickup and no one answered and finally answered the fourth call and disregarded the whole conversation regarding how many times I called with a rude response I ordered anyway and I WOULD NOT recommend their "Tri-Tip" sandwich the meat is so thin and a little tip from myself to this business, if your going to make tri-tip please make sure it's GRILLED not oven roasted so they should not even sell this sandwich at all especially for their priceand also thanks for NOT toasting my bread without any flavor and lastly a BBQ tri-tip sandwich doesn't just mean that it should be cooked on a grill it also means there should be plenty of bbq sauce in it which there was NOT. I could have just went to the grocery store bought roast beef and a slap of bread with bbq sauce and even that would have tasted better. The Sandwich Spot was solid! I ordered a sandwich from here yesterday, the #19. 49er. Really hit the spot for me especially on a Monday. I opted for the Dutch crunch bread. Delicious! The 49er consisted of hot turkey, avocado, swiss cheese, and a slice of prosciutto. The prosciutto added a nice hint of flavor to the turkey sandwich. I opted for the combo which included a can of soda and chips. All in all, delicious turkey sandwich. I would return again if I were in the area, but I will note that it is a slightly more expensive sandwich (around $12-$13. The combo is $2.99 more). So it is over my daily lunch budget (I try to limit my lunches to $10 or less Mon-Fri), but maybe for a special treat. Stopped by here after visiting the local Milpitas WalMart. Was hungry and came across The Sandwich Spot which was located across the street from WallyWorld. My first thought honestly to go to something safe like TOGO's, but decided to visit The Sandwich Spot instead. Was I surprised! Had a simple Ham, Turkey and Swiss on a sourdough bun. UNBELIEVEABLE! Best sandwich I have ever had in my life (And I'm over 65 years of age). Decided to order my son who was at home a sandwich. So I ordered a Roast Beef, grilled onions and Provelone on a Sourdough bun. Got it home, gave it to him to eat and he came back in and told me that it was the best sandwich he has ever had as well.
