I love the Egghead Sando location at Communication Hill and was super excited to see they opened one closer to me here in the Rivermark Plaza. I got the Chic which is a fried chicken sandwich with a fried egg, arugula, and a dressing with a little kick to it. The piece of chicken that I got was huge nearly double the size of the bun! I also got the strawberry matcha latte. It was not my favorite. The chunks were too big and kept getting stuck in the straw. I know these drinks are usually made layered so they look aesthetic and you have to mix it on your own, but it was so hard to mix with the flimsy straw. I think next time I will just stick with the sandwiches and get drinks somewhere else. Also, if you order on the tablet, it will charge you a additional fee versus if you order with the staff it doesn't charge you a fee. But be prepared to ring the and wait a little bit because usually they only have one person on staff. read more

All the sandwiches were massive and super filling. I'd had the scramble before, so that was my usual go-to, but some of the sandwiches were new to me. Everything tasted great, though I do wish they came with pickles or something acidic to help cleanse the palate because the sandwiches can get a little dry and heavy after a while, especially with all the eggs. It is as simple as can be; scrambled eggs, cheese, mayo, and caramelized onions. Actually, it was the CARAMELIZED ONIONS that made the sandwich stand out from other breakfast sandwiches. It paired perfectly with the mayo and and fluffy eggs. Plus, the brioche bun was was really TASTY! It was light, fluffy, but also had a great chew! First time visiting this Egghead branch. It was located in the Rivermark plaza. We ordered the Ultimate Sando and Scramble Sandwich to go for a picnic. Both came with 3 scrambled eggs! The bread was soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The Ultimate Sando also came with sausage and a generous portion of avocado slices. The sauce was creamy and a little spicy. The Scrambled Sandwich was similar to Ultimate Sando except that there was no sausage or avocado. I'd highly recommend the Scramble Sandwich if you like eggs! I have LOVED this place for years and today I was so extremely disappointed that I will never step foot into an Egghead ever again. I just spent $50 on three little jars of the "eggy" and then asked for them for here which was clearly my first mistake. The employee who put my order in the window spilled the baguette all over the counter and proceeded to disrespectfully smile at me and scoop it back into the container... THE AUDACITY!! What if I wasn't watching her?? What if it was someone else's order who wasn't even paying attention? I have personally taken the food safety test myself and this place clearly has not. I actually had to ask the lady to make me fresh bread because I would not be accepting the one she carelessly smeared all over the dirty counter. I'm so sad because I loved the simple egg dish but now I am inspired to make my own and NEVER spend another dime at this establishment. If this is how they treat their paying customers when they are watching I am terrified to know what goes on behind closed doors at this place. This location gives Egghead a bad name!!! After the new bread was done which I had to insist on since she was trying to give me the same bread, I politely asked to speak to a manager to insure that someone at this place cares about proper food handling, and of course there is NO MANAGER ON DUTY. Shame on you owners/management of this Egghead!! You need to get your staff properly trained before the heath inspector shuts this location down! A local chain you would expect to be good based on appearances and their eggs specialty, but consistently falls flat. "Meh" is a word that comes up. I gather that they're aiming to be a foodie destination like Egg Slut (in LA area and Vegas) but nowhere near as consistently tasty or crave worthy. I've had Egghead a few times and each time the seasoning is off -- often times actually under seasoned it seems and I'm someone who doesn't even need much seasoning overall. Their sides are also bland and at times stale. And one time I even had eggshell in my sandwich. Everything is on the pricier side too. What I like about Egghead sandos are that their serving is is that their serving size is great. For every sando their fried chicken is HUGE! Plus, it's still got the perfect crunch and juiciness inside. Yesyes. Usually I'm not a really big matcha fan, but this one changed the game. Loved the tart strawberry jam that combine well with the matcha taste. I want to add that there wasn't a lot of seating available, so I had to sit outside. The sandwiches are pretty thick which makes it so filling and worth the price. The pineapple cucumber green tea was nice and refreshing. I tasted the green tea with subtle aftertastes of cucumber. The pineapple was very very light. I was surprised how well cucumber matches green tea and it's unique. I usually order the chic or eggy. I went with the chic and added caramelized onions to it. The onions weren't caramelized enough for my liking. They were still white rather than translucent and brown. Tater tots were normal. I'm a huge sauce guy and it tasted a lot better with ketchup. I've wanted to try this spot for a while now but never got around to it since it's out of the way for us and it ended up being super underwhelming and not worth the drive in my opinion... When we walked in there was essentially no one working at the counter, everything's just ordered at the kiosk & I understand most places are like this now but sometimes it's just nice to interact with the servers and ask for recommendations. We ordered the breakfast burger and tater tots to share since we weren't sure if we'd like the spot. The food was lukewarm at best, the burger was just okay - I didn't really see the appeal or anything special about it. The tater tots were the worst part. The tots were cold and tasted stale as if they were fried previously and just left sitting there waiting for the next unlucky soul to order (unfortunately that was us). I was in the area to go to my sauna appointment nearby, and I needed some food to fuel myself since I worked out prior. This is my second time coming here and now I can give my review. First off, location is great. It's on the corner when you enter more into the plaza, close by the parking structure on your right. There's a LOT of parking so you won't have to worry about struggling to find any (unless it's very packed during the busy hours for any of the establishments). The inside is very minimalistic, very simple. Some plants for some cute interior decor. There are a few tables inside, but there are also some tables outside if you want to enjoy your meal outdoors when the weather is beautiful. You can order with the cashier or use their kiosk, which is great if it gets busy. I ordered the Chic sandwich and the strawberry matcha latte w/ oat milk. The sandwich was delicious. The chicken was grilled very well, juicy, and the seasoning they used very much tasted similar to Taiwanese popcorn chicken (the five spice seasoning). The bun was soft, and I like the chimichurri. It flavored well with the chicken and greens. As for the latte, I thought it was refreshing. I liked how pretty the layers were before mixing them all together. You honestly can't go wrong with a strawberry and matcha combination. Very delicious profile. I always order ahead online and my order is usually ready within 20-30 minutes. The staff are always friendly and never seem to forget things within my order, which is a plus! Taste was good. Most Vietnamese places making matcha beverages are too strong in matcha flavors. I can actually enjoy my guava juice with matcha here. The egghead salad I had was pretty darn good too, especially the cheesy egg and lots of arugula greens. Vinaigrette sweetened my salad which was awesome. Fresh! Yes, lots of tomatoes/cheese/bacon bits. The bacon bits were a bit too much on a salad for me though. Overall, good portion size. Vibes were quite inside. Not much noise here after 10:30am weekdays. People just grab and go. Public restroom is available. The upkeep is modern, but tables and chairs can use some cleaning and wiping down before lunch hour. Toss your own trash. Overall experience was okay, but I won't be going back. No one was at the front to greet people as they walked in. There were small sticky notes pointing to an electronic kiosk for people to order from. It was off to the side of the register so we didn't know at first if it was optional or to wait for someone to come from the back. No one ever came out so we ordered from the kiosk after a few minutes. Egg sandwich was a good size and the coffee was fine. I don't think it was worth the price however. We ordered The Scramble sandwich and the Eggy. The Scramble (3/5): This sandwhich is loaded with scrambled eggs, but I wasn't a fan of the texture. The eggs consist of distinct solid pieces but are loosely bonded together by a watery texture. The eggs could also use more seasoning or salt. The cheddar, caramelized onions, and spicy mayo are nice touches but don't really come through. The brioche bun is also a bit too sweet.
