The food was fresh and absolutely delicious! We ordered six different meals, but the conversation at our table kept coming back to the omelettes. The height, fresh ingredients, and incredibly soft, fluffy eggs were something special, definitely not your average omelette! The dining area is a bit snug, but it was clean and well kept. Even though the restaurant was crowded, our party of six was seated fairly quickly after putting our name on the list. The food is legit, and after eating here, we can definitely see why this place stays crowded. We'll be back whenever we visit our family again. read more

Mil’s Diner - That is an omelette. The height was one thing. The eggs were soft and not dry. This was the best omelette we ever had. - Diners Near Me - Milpitas, California

I ordered a pickup order one morning, because I was craving some biscuits and gravy. Mil's Diner came up in my search, and it looked pretty decent. The pickup order was ready pretty quick. Only about 10 minutes. And the staff were nice and made me feel welcome. I wouldn't say the food was out of this world, but it hit the spot enough for a decent breakfast. The diner itself was a little rough around the edges, but I suppose that's just how diners are sometimes. Overall, not bad, but not fantastic either. read more

I'm a very happy American enjoying my big breakfast on a rainy day this morning. I never visited Mil's Diner in Milpitas in the past 16-17 years since working and living in the area, but I knew that I would eventually check them out someday. Good choice. No lines and no crowds on a rainy day morning with plenty of available parking spots in the huge lot. Nothing attractive on the outside in this old popular plaza. The place turned out great with the old fashioned retro red color style interior and the experience was wonderful. Good vibes and positive feelings when walking into it. My lady server provided excellent service and the Hispanic male worker was quick and efficient. Place is clean and menu had good variety of selections. Breakfast is served all day while lunch items start at 11am. My breakfast was very fulfilling and total was $25.30 with everything included. I paid in cash and tipped them $5. Loved my sweet lady server. There was another older woman at the cash register. She's a local as well. I really enjoyed the stop. I had the Fajitas Omelette breakfast and the steak meats in it were very generous. Delicious breakfast exactly as I had expected. My onions green peppers potatoes were perfect with a side of salsa. Sourdough toast was delicious with the garlic butter taste. I really came for my favorite hot chocolate with whipped cream in the morning. I do miss big American breakfasts, especially in these old fashioned and traditional retro spots. Love it. Why didn't I visit this place much earlier? Because they're always busy or full inside and the plaza parking is usually congested with heavy traffic here. Overall, I love the vibes and the service. It's one of those places where you can just have normal casual conversations with the staffs working inside if you are open to it. Beautiful diner. Yes, I will be revisiting in the future. If you love huge food portions, there's great value here. One plate can easily be shared between two people. Nice. read more

The breakfast selections were awesome. I ordered the 3 eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns and gravy. My wife had French toast w eggs, while my son had a good old fashion burger w fries. Service was fantastic from our waitress and the large guy who made sure our coffee mugs were being replenished. However, there was a sourpuss young black female waitress who seemed she couldn't handle the day and was being rude to her co workers. Even the older guy (possibly the owner) had the look on his face that he was just too tired and busy to deal w her . The crowd was very respectful and seemed to enjoy the hometown quality of these hard working folks. Someone please remind "Negative Nelly" the waitress that customers can see you and your interactions w people. The food was fine and so was the service. read more

Mil's Diner is a Milpitas institution. I've been here in the past but this time I came in with a few friends to do a major catch up as it had been a couple years since we met up. So they decided why not Mil's? L O C A T I O N Mil's Diner is located off of Calaveras Blvd and Abbott Ave. It's in a plaza close to Goodwill. The parking situation here can be very difficult during the busy times of eating. I N S I D E It's a diner! Yes it feels like an old school diner with a bar area and booths to sit in. They do have a restroom if you need it. M E N U It's a fairly extensive menu with all your good ol' diner food from breakfast fare to lunch. That day I decided I'd get the 50/50 (2 bacon & 2 sausage) with over easy eggs, hashbrowns and sourdough bread. Pricing feels a little bit on the high side, but to be honest it's been so long since I've been to a diner that this might be normal. How was it? It was good! The hashbrowns a tad bit oily, but I was expecting that. Eggs good, bacon crispy, sausage bouncy. S E R V I C E It was warm, friendly and lovely. The wait though was uff. So if you can send out someone early to scout the line or I'm unsure if they can put your name down as you drive over. But the wait times can get really long. I think we waited about an hour or maybe 40-ish min? But this was a Sunday at lunch time and we had 4 people. We actually paid by cash which was easier for all of us and we didn't need change back. Amazing when we all have cash handy. O V E R A L L I think it's a pretty solid diner with good food with friendly service. I'm sure we'll come back again as we enjoyed our time there and catching up. Just be prepared for the wait as it's just that popular! read more

11/8/25 Back in the area for brunch and kiddos wanted an all American brunch. We haven't had Mil's in awhile and had to come back. Solid breakfast as expected. Chicken and waffle (4 piece chicken - breast, leg, wing and thigh) - not tenders like most other places! Kids ordered country fried steak (with over medium eggs and crispy hash) while the other wanted one with over easy eggs and regular hash. I got the mimosa and my lil one added a hot chocolate. Service is family friendly. Ambiance is comfy diner feel. Ample parking available. We came at 9:30 and it was a 20 minute wait. read more

GAMBLING SUPERSTITION: STEAK BREAKFAST Athletes have a routine before games. If their routine breaks the athletes feel back luck will come. I'm not a professional athlete however as a horse racing gambler I have a routine before I go to the racetrack. I eat breakfast at a diner where I order steak. If the steak is overcooked when I go to the racetrack I lose. I picked this place last Saturday as I wanted to try a new diner. I've been to Mel's Diner in San Francisco. This place appears to be a play on the town's name Milpitas. I sat at the counter. When I looked at the breakfast menu it lists ribeye, which I ordered. I asked the ribeye to be cooked medium rare. Instead of toast I paid extra for English muffin. Lately at diners I noticed that steaks served tend to be thin cut. When my ribeye was served the steak was thin cut. I was concerned because previous steaks I've ordered have been overcooked because they were thin cuts even though I requested to be cooked medium rare. Also those steaks tended to be dry. When I cut the ribeye juices were oozing. The ribeye was tasty and moist. I enjoyed my steak. After breakfast I headed to a parimutuel facility to bet on horse races. I ended up winning money at the track. My luck on the racetrack depends on how I enjoyed my steak still exists. I came back the following day. I noticed the day before the serving of chicken and waffle. I've seen pictures on Yelp of the chicken and waffle at Mil's Diner. The best chicken and waffles I ate at the Bay Area was at LB Steak on Santana Row in San Jose. The chicken and waffle at Mel's Diner is $9 less than at LB Steak. When the chicken and waffle was served there were four pieces of fried chicken drenched with honey on top of one waffle. I enjoyed the fried chicken and waffle at Mil's Diner. Is it better than I ate at LB Steak? Even though I get four pieces of fried chicken at Mil's Diner the single piece of fried chicken at LB Steak was super moist and what made that piece of chicken impressive was it was the breast, which tends to be dry. Even though I get two waffles at LB Steak the single waffle at Mil's Diner was crispy. I love my waffles to be crispy not soggy. What's my verdict? The chicken and waffle served at Mil's Diner is in my top two of chicken and waffle dishes in the Bay Area. When you enter Mil's Diner the place is small compared to most diners. Even though this place is small since I enjoyed my two breakfast servings I'll come to Mil's Diner to try new items. read more

Mil's Diner is definitely one of those old-school, local hole-in-the-wall spots. The place has a bit of a dated feel. The service was the highlight. Our server was bubbly and welcoming, which made the experience much more enjoyable. As for the food, it was just okay. I had the Popeye omelette, which was decent but nothing to rave about. My husband and I also split an order of waffles, and those were fine as well. It wasn't special, but not bad either. read more

Loved the old timey classic diner vibe, cozy and nostalgic. I went with the #1 combo - they were able to do 1 bacon and 1 sausage which I appreciated, and it also came with 2 eggs, hash browns, and toast. I also got a buttermilk pancake on the side. The combo was pretty standard brunch, reliable and classic. I do think the hash browns could've been crispier though. The syrup for the buttermilk pancake was also kind of hardened, and it wasn't super liquidy like normal pancake syrup. Felt a bit plastic-like. The pancake itself was great though with fluffy soft texture. Service was wonderful and food came out quickly, would come back in the future for a classic brunch vibe. read more

I came here for a date! I love the menu and the cozy little mom and pop seating inside. The menu is pretty extensive and they even offer Latino dishes like huevo con chorizo with tortillas! I ordered the French toast and it was very surprising because the toast felt so rich and buttery. The flavor was absolutely delicious. It tasted like the batter was made with something thick and delicious, much unlike other French toasts I've tried. I would definitely love to try this place again! Service was quick and they're quick with giving you your food and helping you clean up for the next guest. Super friendly and kind staff. read more

Stopped by on a Wednesday morning and it was pretty busy. Ample parking which is a plus. There isn't a wait when you walk in which is great. Was greeted immediately once I entered. Definitely a homey old diner type feel and I noticed they have tons of regular at the location. You can tell the vibe and atmosphere is great here based on relationships with customers and team working there. What we ordered: My son got French Toast: it crispy and tasted good per my son lol. My daughter got the #3: Two pancakes, bacon with scrambled eggs. The pancakes were fluffy, and she loved how the butter melted immediately on the pancake. Eggs were scrambled perfectly and bacon wasn't too soggy or too hard. I got the all meat omelette: The omelette was hefty and was flavorful and delicious. The hash browns were good and wasn't oily. Overall a decent breakfast spot to try out when you're in the Milpitas area. There is a service charge when you use a credit card. read more

This is my favorite breakfast spot! The service is always fantastic! Plus the owner is always helping out too, which is a rare sight as not many will be this involved. I always get a sense of a family atmosphere. The food is also great. My two favorite dishes are the chicken and Waffle and the country special. The chicken is a great size! All the food portions are also great. I definitely recommend this breakfast spot in Milpitas. I became a regular because of how often i go. read more

if i could give 0 stars.. I WOULD. our server was so disrespectful and rude, other coworkers ended up telling us she's worse to other people and coworkers. we asked to speak to the manager and she was rude ASWELL. i do NOT recommend this place for anyone looking for a friendly place to eat with family. the light skinned woman with short hair named TAYLOR and the woman in charge with short orange/red hair with bangs NAMED TARRY was EXTREMELY unprofessional when we told her the issue, she made faces at us, walked away laughing with the other server and it was just an unwelcoming place overall. the food wasn't bad and then my server dropped my food..? idk i understand mistakes happen so i wont say much about that. We also overheard them talking to other customers about us and laughing and staring. 0/10 experience. read more

The service was subpar. Taylor's manners and overall attitude were disappointing. There was no "Welcome to Mils," no name tag, and we simply didn't feel welcomed. The food was OK, but unfortunately not good enough to make me want to return. What bothered me even more was that after we spoke Spanish upon entering, it felt like we received different treatment. I hope that was not intentional, but that was honestly how the experience came across to us. Sorry, Mils, but next time it's Black Bear. Owner/manager: I'd appreciate it if you would contact me directly. I'm always willing to discuss my experience and give you an opportunity to address it. Please train your team better. Customer service makes a big difference. read more

I ordered through the phone at 9:50 am and was told it would be 15-20 minutes. 20 minutes later, I pop in and told they were waiting on the 2 sausages and 2 bacons. Another 20 minutes and still nothing. Other sit down orders are getting their food before my takeout order. What's the point of calling ahead? Complete waste of my Saturday morning. I ended up just leaving. I didn't have time to wait another hour while the eggs in my takeout box go cold. read more

Service was 3 stars Food was 4 stars The atmosphere felt like home, with waitresses who clearly knew many of the regulars. The place is small but functional, giving it that comfortable, down-to-earth vibe. Service was just okay -- friendly but not particularly fast, and there was a 30-minute wait even though the restaurant wasn't full. The food made up for it though: large portions, homestyle dishes, and really good flavor. Overall, a cozy local spot worth visiting if you've got a bit of patience. read more

Today went to Mil's. I was very very disappointed in the food preparation really scared after I found some sort of burned shaving under my french toast also my hash browns in area's also cold ,my eggs seemed really bad they had an odor. I really looked forward to eating here today but had to pause and not eat the meal. Were is the supervision and owner why is not anyone watching the chefs. its just scary because it makes me wonder. The gentleman that served the drinks and things was very rude in his denenenor. please do not sabatog customers food its hateful. Also my stomach has hurted all day and running back forth to the restroom. yeah something is not right here and this is why I refrained from eating the rest of that meal. Never will be back here ever again. Also when your chefs use the restroom they need to rewash their hands before entering the kitchen as well nasty .Do to my stomach ache I will be making a health department report. read more

I thought I was the only one but after reading the reviews I feel a little better about my dining experience. After we ordered our food, I switched ketchup bottles with the table next to mine because I wanted a fuller bottle, and the fat lady worker scolds me - "hey don't just put an empty bottle on another table" with a snarky attitude. Hey you trashy haired lady, I don't work here, don't tell me what to do. Most of the workers are nice but that old bag had some self-righteous attitude. Seen it a few times before too, with her gross ass make up. If you're so concerned about the ketchup bottles why don't you do your own damn job and make sure they're full, you lazy cow. She kind of ruined my meal, but I'm glad to hear other people complain about her rude behavior. She's probably a miserable sack of potatoes that's mad at herself because she doesn't know how to put down the fork. read more

Food: The portion and the flavor is out of expectedly good! We came after a long walk in the morning and very lucky to be on the wait list earlier. The honey glaze on the chicken is good but their waffle was just okay comparing to other savory breakfast options like omelette and 3-egg breakfast. Service: you need to put your name on the waitlist in person and wait there since it's not online. The restaurant is busy but the staff is very helpful and check on you all the time if any needs. Ambiance: traditional American retro vibe. Good for a casual nice brunch on weekends! read more

Is it possible to give 6 out of 5? Never had a bad experience here. Chicken and waffle are HUGE and even now with price increases everywhere still good deal. Service top not h every time, quick seating and always on top. Place is packed most of the time and smells great. If I had a complaint (sarcasm) it's that they are almost too on top of stuff. So, first off, this restaurant gives off a hole in the wall diner vibes, complete with the "seasoned" waitresses who helped me. Very welcoming.. I ordered the special of the day, which was a roast beef benedict. The beef was good, and while tasty, it was inconsistent. One egg poached perfectly, the other egg was overcooked...not even close. It was basically like a round hardboiled egg. Overall, pretty good...not bad, but I've had better. I would return, but probably order something different. I'm not a big fan of filling up on pointless carbs, but the pictures of French toast looked amazing. I would come back to try the French toast alone. Lastly, I know it's Milpitas, but a diner breakfast with a drink should NOT cost $24....especially if ordering the special of the day. I guess a decent, average experience. Probably not recommended it, but if friends want to go, I'd have no problem returning read more

We stopped in to Mil's Diner for breakfast on our way out of town after a World Cup match. We had never been there before but were welcomed like family. After a short wait we sat in a clean booth (not at all sticky) and were served coffee and water right away. The variety of options and specials made it hard to decide what to order. Since we had a long drive ahead we decided to keep it simple and ordered eggs (scrambled & poached), sausage, hashbrowns, and Benedict. Everything was perfectly cooked!
