Not my first time. But consistent great service (staff is patient letting my friend and I take our time deciding what to order) and delicious food always get 5 stars. Stopped by for a lunch/brunch combo and the food was good! Food: Overall food was very good! Ordered items from both breakfast/lunch: Specials:Lemon blueberry biscuits- delicious!! Brownie Peanut butter pancakes-also delicious but could have used more brownie chunks, but still very good! Regular menu items : Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich-came out fresh from the fryer, big piece of meat and was crispy. Not overly spicy so if want it spicy might want to ask for hot sauce. French fries came out hot and crispy! Corn Poblano chowder-I was surprised how good this was. Nice flavor and lots of corn and potatoes. Side salad- nice and fresh. Service- Our server was a little absent at times and we were his only table since it was at an odd time. But we always had water so that was good. This place was so cute. Though busy, it was very clean. We were able to get a table immediately even though they were busy and had several reservations. The server was attentive and answered all my questions about different menu options. I opted for the Steak Sandwich and added jalapeños. They gave me plenty of fresh jalapeños. The fries were perfectly cooked and crispy. I added mayo and mustard, and dipped it in the au jus. The sandwich was perfectly cooked. The bread was light and fluffy, there so much cheese. It was so good. I had a mule, but can't remember the name of it. It was so good. I didn't enjoy the margarita flight. I would've chosen a better tequila. I will say the size of the drinks was beyond my expectations. Usually ordering a flight, the sizes are significantly smaller. These are generous portions. In the Fall of 2022, Sophia and I met up with people from our meetup group here for breakfast. Each one of us enjoyed not only company, but the food as well. Over the weekend, we did the same thing with a new bunch. Would this visit bring good vibes or leave everyone with disappointment? Just like before, I placed a reservation for our table. Wonderful timing considering it was Mother's Day weekend and they were fully booked for the day to where several parties had to reserve for Saturday. And we got the exact same table as last time. Luck of the draw :) Once everyone was set, we went on with ordering. I selected the loaded omelet wihch had Edwards country ham, Edwards sausage and maple bacon as the proteins to go with caramelized onions, roasted red peppers and Provolone cheese along with home fries as a side. Very delicious. I am an omelet guy so you know this hit the spot all around. This was enough protein to fill yours truly up. And the eggs were well cooked holding all the goodies together. Home fries...the perfect side indeed. Well, there you have it. Great food along with great company again. And each one of us enjoyed the meal. A home run. Till next time :) read more

Online reservations were easy. I noted there was an elderly person in our party. We arrived 20 minutes early and checked in, asking for an outside table. The hostess acknowledged my note and said she made a point to not put us upstairs + outside would be our preference. About 5 minutes ahead of our reservation time, I received a text that our table was ready. Our waitress Kim was the perfect balance of attention + care. The patio has greenery, several tables and a bench or two. Easily, weekend brunch pics can be taken here! The food: We ordered quite a few things! From the Specials, we tried the Hot Honey Peach Marg. It was incredible! Just the right amount of everything. The Carne Asada Hash - I'm glad I was informed that the egg came over easy - I swapped to fried. The steak was about medium well and I loved the sweet potatoes. Blueberry Biscuits with lemon cream cheese drizzle - can I get a dozen?? They were that good. Peach + Prosciutto Flatbread - I love everything on this flatbread! Peaches. Feta. Prosciutto. Arugula. The honey drizzle. Waffle - naked, golden brown how mom likes it. Calamari - plentiful and tasty; these were seasoned nicely. Shrimp - just the right amount of chew and the sauce was sweet + tangy. The crab cake bites were meaty and the perfect bite. They were very good. I would certainly recommend dining here and enjoying the casual and cutesy vibes! read more

Oh man, anything here is a hit. We went on a weekday so very chill. They also only do soufflé pancakes during weekday/dine in only. Totally worth it. They're so light, fluffy, and not too sweet! Also something that I was shocked about is the cinnamon roll funnel cake. You will not go wrong ordering that as a sweet treat! Everything was great and food came out quick! My new go to brunch spot! The inside is very cozy and comfortable. Wasn't too crowded or at least didn't feel that way, though about 80% of the tables were filled. Our waitresses were very sweet and came to check in on us numerous times throughout our visit. I ordered their seasonal apple cider sangria (went here during the fall / winter season) (10/10). The carnitas hash and a side waffle (10/10). Also got a Caesar salad with shrimp (8/10, was a little dry but good flavor) along with garlic mashers (9/10). We also got their biscuits that came with jelly and butter (10/10). Overall I really enjoyed my meal and experience here. My overall rate of experience : 10/10 read more

Food was good. The bar stools and the bar are the incorrect height so it is awkward to eat there. Dessert is $10. Maybe good. But that's a lot for 1 dessert. Asked for a virgin version of a drink-- it was made half assed. Was supposed to be rimmed w a spicy tanjin but had to ask. So it was just dumped unceremoniously into a new cup. Certainly made me feel 2nd class for asking for a no alcohol drink and server seemed annoyed I asked for the spicy rim enhancement. Do not put the crostini in the wet - overly wet bowl of juice in the clams. They were completely mush when it arrived at my table. Unusable. Place on side plate. Really waited far too long for service when seated at bat. read more

Had the meatloaf with garlic mashed taters and sweet corn as daily veggie. EXCELLENT. After dinner, had a smokey Old Fashioned, which Logan, the bartender, made to perfection. As I ate at the bar Logan was also my food server, very attentive and excellent service. I plan on coming back in the morning to try the Crab Cake Benedict for breakfast. I needed a family oriented restaurant for my 6 year old granddaughter. I was concerned by th pics it might be more of a bar and grill. However, she enjoyed her breakfast and our server was very caring and amenable. We did have an issue with my wife's order because she forgot to ask for egg whites in her omelet, and unfortunately the omelet was not cooked throughout. I have wanted to visit this place for the past two years. One of my meet-up groups used to visit here alot. My mom and I visited here for the first time today. It wasn't crowded at all and we were seated immediately. We sat near the fireplace. My mom had the avocado toast and I had the classic French toast. Everything tasted as good as it looked. Sunday brunch w wife and sons, 4/5 stars overall. Carnitas hash ($14, 4/5 stars) portion size reduced from prior visits but still tasty. Loaded omelette ($16, 4/5 stars) was hot and hearty; cranberry orange mule was sweet and sour, just like my wife hahahaha. Cuban ($14, 3.5/stars) and Club ($15, 4/5 stars) served w fries were both devoured by my boys. Server was great; I think every employee checked on us during our visit, lol. Two words: Strawberry Cake. The Rustic Spoon hit its stride long ago with delicious food and ample cocktails. Brunch seems to draw the biggest crowds, so you might want to call ahead. However, lunch and dinner are also excellent. Potato encrusted salmon is perfectly done every time. If you're looking for incredible comfort food, the meatloaf and beef stroganoff are signature favorites. The drink menu includes a variety of specialty cocktails and crushes, but when all is said and done...get the strawberry cake. Seriously. read more

Came for brunch with a few friends. We had a reservation so we were seated quickly. There was so many great options it was hard to choose! I went with the filet mignon Benedict and substituted the green tomato for spinach on it. The steak & potatoes were cooked perfectly a the bacon on the Benedict was a great touch. The French toast one friend got looked yummy! My other friend got the clams and a chicken Cesar salad which she enjoyed. I got a mimosa and was a little supported the glass was only halfway full but overall we had a great time. Definitely will come back to try different items. read more

Bay Local and First Watch are our usual go-to spots but we picked Rustic Spoon today to change it up a bit. The location was easy to get to, lots of parking and the tables inside were well-spaced so you weren't dining with strangers. The staff and the food- so excellent. Everyone was friendly, attentive, collaborative with great attitudes. The food came out quickly, was presented gorgeously, hot and every dish was so delicious. We had the stuffed French toast, scotch egg, chicken and waffles, B&G, smash burger, monte cristo and risotto bites. Would order any of them again but the menu is huge. Looking forward to trying more awesome dishes our next visit. Great Job to The Spoon. read more

We reserved for upstairs room for a small group Christmas party . We were happily placed by the nice wide window and made it more endearing to see the view outside. The place is packed with multiple different groups but not like claustrophobic. We were also near the Christmas tree so the picture taking is too cute. As usual we were greeted by the staff as you enter. They were warm, friendly and accommodating. Upstairs, our waitress is nice, efficient and gave us time to order since we were a big group. But our food came fast. Now, the food as usual are looking plump and appetizing and each are just delicious! You can hear the ohhh and ahhh from the group. my husband and i enjoy coming here for impromptu dinners (the days where you're like... i don't feel like cooking but want something good). they have so many great options to try from. our favorites is going when there's a specials on the weeknights - we typically end up there on the nights they offer half off apps! and let me tell you, their apps are great! my favorite is their fried risotto balls and bacon wrapped scallops. the service is always great and the vibes are always welcoming. we often come with a group of friends or even with our young kids. read more

Came here with a group of my friends to have brunch. I haven't been here yet and heard good things so I was excited to try. It was a rainy day which sucked and the lighting inside was also dim so the mood wasn't as vibrant as it could've been. We talked at the table and decided on what we'd all order so we could try each other's food. We started with the Sweet Potato Biscuit with ham and pepper jelly off of the specials menu and then the Crab Cake Bites. The Sweet Potato Biscuit was light in Sweet Potato flavor and the ham was pretty salty. Everyone loved the Crab Cake Bites. They had little filler, they came with a nice sauce to balance and were served on top of a slaw. Coleslaw is usually hit or miss for me but this slaw was yummy and a great pairing with the crab. We ordered The Stuffed French Toast, the Edwards Country Ham Benedict, the Short Rib Mac Melt, the Apple Pie Pancakes from the specials menu and the Loaded Omelette. My friend also ordered a pancake to go with her omelette but it never came. I was worried about getting the Ham Benedict that was recommended by the server after trying the same ham from the sweet potato biscuit but I had already ordered it all at once so I had to go with it. I will say the Benedict balanced out the saltiness of the Ham and it was better than I expected. Everyone loved the Stuffed French Toast and thought it was very balanced in flavor and not overly sweet. The strawberries, merengue and candied walnuts gave a perfect bite. The Omelette was a bit underwhelming and the Short Rib Mac Melt was solid with a great smoky flavor. The portion of Apple Pie Pancakes was large and they were thick and fluffy. I loved the Streusel they were topped with as well. There were gnats flying around most of our visit so that was a bit disheartening but overall we had a pretty good time. read more

This was my second time here. It was for dinner. We had reservations for a birthday dinner. Everything was wonderful. Service was prompt. Food was wonderful. Between all of us, we ordered salmon and risotto, crab cakes and succotash, wedge salad, steak and asparagus, crab dip appetizer, and my son ordered the kid's corn dogs and fries. Everything was delicious. We even got a complimentary slice of cake for the birthday boy. We were in the mood for some amazing brunch at the Rustic Spoon. My wife and I sat on the patio and enjoyed a late Spring morning breeze. Really good service with a variety of gluten free, vegetarian, & nut free options. They do a great job of taking out the guess work of ordering food. The wait time for a table varies on the weekend, but you can call in advance up to an hour before to reserve a table or book a few days in advance depending on a large group size. They have a main entree menu, but also one for drinks and menu specials. They have ample seating 4 top standard table, high top table, and 2 top tables. They are baby friendly and will assist you in setting up your table for baby seats or high chairs. They also have upstair loft style seating. There is an adjacent outdoor patio area. Their restrooms are clean and are located down stairs and upstairs as well. The service is very prompt, polite, and courteous. There is ample parking that's free but share the space with multiple businesses in the strip mall complex. It is a bit tight, but manageable. Cute decor, somewhat loud (not too loud), kinda warm, and it continuously got hotter as we sat there- it was odd. I got the avocado toast and added a scrambled egg with cheddar. I love trying new avo toast, because everyone does it differently. This was probably the most delicious scrambled egg with cheese that I've ever had. It was fluffy & flavorful!! They looked good, but by the time they got to the table, they were already room temperature and they just didn't have a lot of flavor overall. But overall - we were happy. As for staff: all were very friendly. But I think they were almost too busy to serve us at our tables. Ortiz didn't get refilled, and it took us asking for our check to actually get it. Again, they were all very friendly, but I just think they were running around too much to properly serve the room. So overall, this little hole in the wall gave us some decent food. Again, some friendly staff, but clearly a little local joint for the neighborhood. But if I was in the area and wanted a good burger, pretty sure I would still stop in.

I was ready to turn into a-hole Justin and then gtfo there, but I said nothing, signed my receipt and proceeded to get the hell out. The real issue with this Lendy's is understaffing. My visit was a combination of events - dinner service, happy hour, and karaoke night. How are you not staffed for that? I could tell Courtney knows what's up, but leaving her alone (with just one cook) while working injured obviously resulted in subpar service. At the same time, taking extended time to chat with regulars pissed me off because I was obviously not important enough to receive the same attention. Lendy's, your food is good. But running understaffed and providing inconsistent service is garbage. I want to evenly split my visits to this shopping center between Misako, Lendy's, and Mommy Mom, but omitting Lendy's as a viable option has become easier after this visit. Came here with two others for brunch on a Sunday. Weather was great and we were happy to be able to sit outside. We arrived at 9am so there was no wait but please note you might need a reservation (although rez are not taken for outdoor tables). Our waitress was amazing, friendly, informative, honest, and fun. She started us off with three great mimosas. Between the three of us we ordered The Good with Edward's ham, the French toast, and the shrimp and grits. Stop here. Pause for a minute. I cannot explain to you how good the food is!! Seriously. This may be the absolute best place to eat in Hampton Roads. From the design of the dish, to plating, to the flavors, it is all amazing. The Good is a basic eggs/potatoes/meat plate but even that was done so fantastically it blew my mind. The French toast is basically half a loaf of brioche stuffed with yummy - it may be impossible for a normal human being to eat. The shrimp and grits isn't like anything you've ever had. The shrimp are huge and the grits are served in a cake-style so this isn't just a big bowl of grits with some shrimp in it. That dish tasted great too. This is hands down the best breakfast place to go to. The list of food that is amazing could go on all day from the crab cake bite appetizer to the chicken and waffles and even the dark chocolate waffles everything is so amazing. The specialty food they come up with every time is awesome putting Mac and cheese on a sandwich literally genius. But this place goes so far past good food. It's wonderful down to its core. The employees are all fantastic and upbeat and positive. Quick to get you what you need and always ready to put a smile on your face. Management is even top tier always on site always approachable. I will always come here for breakfast. Shout out to Nikki and Greg who served me this time but you have great servers like Angie and Olivia and great kitchen staff like Jamie and Anthony. Rustic Spoon is a great spot for brunch with a warm, welcoming vibe. The place is nicely decorated and feels cozy. They have dining upstairs, but we stayed downstairs. While it's not super roomy, it didn't feel claustrophobic at all, and the lower-level dining area can comfortably fit a stroller, which we appreciated. For food, we ordered the seafood omelette and the Reuben sandwich. The omelette was flavorful and well-balanced, but the real highlight of our meal was the calamari -- it was absolutely delicious and a must-order. Our server was very patient and extremely attentive, which made the experience even better. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back to try more dishes. Parking was a breeze, with plenty of free spaces available. The customer service was excellent--the staff checked on us frequently, ensuring we had everything we needed. My granddaughter and I stopped for a late lunch. We split a Crispy Brussels Sprouts--the serving was large and outstanding. We each had the Monte Christo on brioche--they were humongous! Considering that we are both on the small side, we could have split one of those, too. But it gave us some to take home, where the sandwich also got raves. Our server was Francesca. Another hosted arrived and explained that we were not sat in the order we arrived because of the infant and the high top. We expressed we would like to sit at the high top and then we were provided a high chair that fit at the high top table.. First come first serve was not what was practiced here today, and unfortunately I was with an infant so we felt it a little harder than we would have otherwise. Overall it was very disappointing. Once we came inside, it definitely looked like a tropical theme, which was easy to see throughout the place. Another big thing I noticed as soon as we came in (and remained the case the entire time) that it was excessively loud. It was hard to hear each other, and even our server. I never got over to the outdoor seating area as it was pretty busy. We were greeted by a hostess at the counter and we were immediately seated. With it being busy as it was, our server came over to the table and said she would be back shortly, though it was a bit longer than expected. Someone else came by to ask if we wanted water while waiting for her to come back and we both did that. Once she was able to come to the table, we weren't quite ready to order yet, but I did get the Bay Bloody Mary. The food looked really good and hot when it came out. I don't normally do a waffle, but that waffle was really good. I only put butter on it as I didn't want to add even more sugar to the meal already. The bacon was nice and crispy as requested. I wasn't sure how the Cheese Grits would be, but they were surprisingly good. The last item I had was the Fried Biscuit. Wow that one was a highlight for sure, though I won't do that one too often. My mom said the entree she had was good too and there were no issues. Overall, this was a good visit. I would give it 3.5 stars but rounding to 4 in this case due to the great food. The biggest negatives were the noise levels, as it was hard to talk to anyone there, and they automatically add an 18% tip for all transactions, regardless of party size. Given the circumstances, the service was good too. I will come back in the future, but maybe not on a weekend or around a holiday where it gets busier than normal. This place is worth checking out if you are in the area and looking for something to choose from to eat at.

The front staff was very welcoming and friendly and one of the managers checked in on us during the visit, which was lovely. Major points for $7 valet! That's amazing. You can't pass it up.
